I'm not a huge review guy but I needed to write one about JC Solar. We just moved to Thousand Oaks and have a small swimming pool with pool solar and had a company come out and tell us that the solar cells were no longer any good and the entire system had to be replaced at a cost of about $7,000. At the recommendation of our pool guy we called JC Solar for a second opinion. Their friendly rep came out, took one look at our system, and told us that there is absolutely no reason we need to replace anything. That was a few months ago and since then we have been enjoying our pool that has been heated by the solar panels that work perfectly well. All I can say is, JC Solar has a customer for life. Best investment I ever made!!! My daughter and her family come to visit me each year. It was costing me over $1000 in gas to heat my pool for the month. I had JC Solar install solar panels to heat the water. Now from May to September I enjoy 90-degree water and I don't pay a cent to the gas company. I really want to give an excellent review for JC Solar and everyone that I came in contact with that works there. ESPECIALLY Nancy. We have pool solar that they installed perfectly. The problem for us is that we live in a rural area and rodents bite through the solar tubing. Repairs literally were on a daily basis and to stop the pool water from reaching the roof so that water didn't spray everywhere we had to shut off our pool pump which left our pool in bad shape. Nancy suggested chicken wire covering the solar panels, basically our entire roof. Although JC was super busy she found a way to work us in. Joe and his team did a fantastic job. Took his team about a day and a half to complete the install. Once installed our pool temp increased by 10 degrees and got up to 85 degrees within two days. We've been using the pool nonstop this summer and the kids have been loving it, night swimming has also been a blast. Joe recommended that we upgrade our pump at the same time which we didn't do however we changed our mind a couple weeks later. Where I come from, you are damned lucky to get a phone call within an hour of your first, introductory call for service. If a technician comes out, he or she is sure to say that he or she can't fix it, and please call someone else. Most likely, the technicians can't come even come out to the site, because a.) they're busy, b.) they're busy, c.) they're REALLY busy. You get it after awhile. You are NEVER going to be helped without serious service connections, the kind that billionaires have, but not anyone else. So it amazed me that JC Solar power took my call, called me back within the 3 hour window, honored the appointment, fixed the myriad solar panel problems, and charged me their minimum fee. Plus, JC Solar even knew what they were doing, and were able to teach me, someone that you must explain every last detail and even then, you need to repeat it from the very beginning, and go through it at least three times. Joe will probably give you the best deal on solar panels for your pool. We shopped around before going with Joe, then finally decided to go with him because he gave the best price and warranty. Initially, one of the temp sensors went bad and he immediately replaced it. Then, after over 3 years of having our equipment installed by the company, our actuator went out. Joe was able to come out and replace it and it was still covered under warranty. That just shows that Joe walks the walk. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5, is because he didn't show up for our 1st appt for the repair. I waited for him to call me to say he couldn't make the appt or had to reschedule, but I didn't hear anything back from him. I had to call him back a few days later (just to see if he'll call back first, but he didn't) to reschedule another appt. If he would've called me back instead of me calling him to remind him that he missed our previous appt, I would've gave 5 stars. read more

There is no question that Joe and JC Solar are the best at what they do. It's not just the fair price and quality work but his customer service is stellar. Joe installed our pool solar 5 years ago based on a recommendation from a mom group I belong to. We didn't have existing gas hookup or heater and solar made the most sense, especially with his prices. But what stands out the most is how friendly, prompt and fair he is, treating you like a friend and not a customer. After living in Tarzana for over a year, we knew we had to find a solution to heat our pool and have more use of it throughout the year. Even with the valley temperatures in summer, the pool doesn't get over 80 degrees more than a few days a year. After doing EXTENSIVE research and talking to all applicable parties, we chose to have solar heating installed by JC Pool Solar. Robert, one of the head techs arrived at my house at 8:00am sharp and was in a great mood. He began to explain the who, what, why, and where right away and within minutes, I was comfortable enough to leave him and his crew to do the job while I went on with my day. Not only did these guys knock out the job in a very reasonable amount of time, they re-plumbed my pool to look amazing and more importantly, to fit with code. Luckily, that same day we were able to see the system at work. The pool temperature rose from 68 degrees to 77 degrees when the solar final shut down, around 5:30pm. Basically, we went up 9 degrees with only about 6 full hours of sun exposure. The following day, (last Saturday), we were in the pool at 82 degrees and you can't imagine how excited we are. Bottom line, we are so thankful that we decided on solar and even more thankful that we chose to go with JC Pool Solar. Joe, Robert, MOE, and crew were beyond polite and accommodating. I sincerely appreciate when a company does good business and it the way it should be! I highly, highly recommend speaking to Joe or Moe before moving forward with any other company, or solution for heating your pool.
