    Bad manicure
    Hillary D.

I got a mani/pedi on Friday 7/24/20 and by 7/25/20 my nails were chipped. I've never had that happen when using regular polish. They kept trying to push for me to use gel but I did not want to be bothered with the upkeep. I went back for a refund or a re-do and they only painted over my existing polish on my toes. When I asked to remove the polish from my hands and put clear coat she said she would charge me. I said I shouldn't have to pay for anything since almost every single nail had a chip or peak of some sort. She still refused. They ended up only removing the horrific polish from my hands. They refused to refund me and were not nice about repairing! The polish they use is cheap! I will never be going back!!!!

they are grown out now but they were shorter acrylic is also thick and lumpy $93 for this.

first of all i call before because i wanted an animal print design and they told me they can do it, i get there they don't want to do it so they literally start SWIPING THRU MY PHONE at other nail pictures and stuff like who does that? so i asked for my second option and they are still talking bout "he can do this design better" so im fed up not trying to argue w nobody and say ok. mind yall i got squiggles on my nails. I PAID $93 for these nails. i know nail prices been going up but on their website it says full sets start at $35 so $93 for some lines is just way too much. but they charged me for things i never asked for. they charged me for an ombré acrylic when there clearly is no ombré. they called these nails long and charged for that. they put glitter in the acrylic i NEVER ASKED FOR so im asking about it and they just telling me the price is the price im telling u anywhere else i would've went that's probably WAY nicer would've charged me maybe $70 or less for these nails RIDICULOUS DONT GO THEY ARE A RIP OFF and probably tried to disrespect me because im younger but don't worry

Whilst on spring break at Bethany Beach, and having a sorta bad spa week (see previous review of La Vita Bella) I asked a local for a good strip mall nail salon and was pointed to JC Nails in Dagsboro which is 15 min from Bethany Beach. Upon entering I checked out the prices not too bad, & saw a family of 4 gathered around a coffee table eating Mc Donalds and only 1 customer getting a pedicure from who I guess later is Gramma. Two adorable little girls (later found out kindergarten & 2nd grade) were pounding on the coffee table with the Happy Meal prizes - ouch! Loud! The "mom" puts down her food & leads me to the bank of pedicure chairs that looked welcoming, I brought my own colour (turquoise blue!) and now for the upsale. We're used to being talked into the "Spa Pedicure" right? Ok, so I LOVE LOVE LOVE my home nail salons' Spa Pedi (see review Sapphire Nails) so I go for it! Spa Pedi $35 & a regular manicure $12 & eyebrow waxing $8. She tries to talk me into a nail design, I pass. She tries to talk me into some kind of jelly bath for $5 more and I pass. The little girls, though adorable, are (joyfully) screaming & running around the salon actually doing cartwheels. Gah! Then they both come up to me (can they smell out teachers on Spring Break? Really?) and start asking me 20 questions. Really? They are adorably cute but I really just want to read my iPad Kindle & relax. Beat it little urchins and get thee hence! (of course I don't say it) Meanwhile mom is cutting my cuticles with clippers & ouch! Draws BLOOD on two fingers! (see the pics) she puts on a lotion that stops the bleeding but goes on and does it again on the other hand! Tip is shrinking. She then passes the job of painting the toes & fingernails on to her unsmiling husband. I mean really taciturn! LOL He does a halfhearted job of it - the polish starting at the cuticles and spilling onto the skin of the finger with no touch up. Hmmm Dad passes me off to Gramma who does my eyebrow waxing & she did a great job! Whew! Get me outta here! Though I understand this is a probably a family run business, and during spring break they maybe can't get child-care, but letting kids run around yelling, screaming, cartwheeling, and then bug reading customers should be discouraged, Not too relaxing. I sorta can't wait to go home to my Erica Loren Spa, Massage Envy, & Sapphire Nails! But you gotta try new things, right?

They messed up my nails so bad I will never go there again!!! And wanted me to pay more to fix them like hell noooo!!!!

I'm headed to the hot air balloon festival in New Jersey and decided to stop by, get in the festival mood and get my nails done here. The lady that did my manicure did a wonderful job especially at getting my cuticles. I also really appreciate the job she did on my designs even though she acted unhappy about doing it! I really wish this nail shop let you tip on debit cards, she would have gotten a nice tip!!!

I will never recommend this place to anyone. Plus I got over charged for just a fill in.

The team was friendly, welcoming, and very efficient -- they got me in and out right within the time I expected, which I really appreciated. My pedicure was done perfectly and the attention to detail really stood out. They were also thoughtful about the little extras that make the experience more relaxing, like the comfortable chair, the heated neck wrap, and the overall clean, well-run environment. What impressed me most was how attentive and communicative the staff were. They made sure they understood exactly what I wanted and checked in along the way, which made the whole visit feel easy and comfortable. If you're looking for a nail salon that's professional, friendly, and respectful of your time while still delivering great quality, I highly recommend La Vie Nails. Five stars from me!

This place is an upgraded chop shop…read more The services for me & my husband were booked as a Deluxe Pedicure & a Classic Muanicure with a gel polish for me. Typically this should take one hour for each individual service for a total of 2 hours. Total service time for both services at this "spa": 1 hour which includes a brief restroom break for me during my manicure because I had to stop in the middle since I was so frustrated. First off, the place is filthy and unsanitary. What I witnessed was hugely disturbing. * Pedicure chair foot rest was dirty & the small table where tools & lotions were placed throughout our service was filthy & not cleaned between clients. * Tech placed some sort of filter for the pedicure water tub while we were seated & then removed to place on the same table with the tools & lotions that were being on us. * Tools used for my pedi while in an autoclave sleeve were not unsealed in front of me & the sleeve was actually not sealed. I didn't see my husband's tools. I'm hesitant to say if they were actually sanitized for each client. * After the pedi, the cuticle clippers were slipped inside the autoclave sleeve after a brief wipe with some sort of solution & a cotton square. Cuticle pusher & nail clippers were not cleaned but also placed inside the sleeve which had never been sealed and processed. It was more used as a tote for the tools. * Drill was used on natural nail beds-both hands and feet-in an effort to first remove cuticle & across the entire nail bed! No buffer nor cuticle pusher was used and most importantly NO cuticle remover was used to soften the cuticle before removal.. Basically the approach is to remove dry skin via the drill! * The drill itself was filthy covered in nail dust from prior clients. * Both me & my husband experienced cuticle cuts on toes and hands by sloppy work. These were treated with an antiseptic in a dropper which thankfully didn't come in contact with us! No comment made by techs when this occurred. We came home to apply some Neosporin. * Nail files & buffers were not single use and had been used on other clients prior to us. * Some sort of cheese grater device used for callus removal on feet which wasn't sanitized. It was within a plastic tote which was sitting between me and a stranger at the pedi station. Used on my feet & returned to the tote without any sort of cleaning which also had a bunch of tools & other things Inside. My husband experienced the same mysterious grater type device removed from a different tote which also wasn't sanitized. * Towels used throughout servics were threadbare, stained and edges unraveling. Pedicure took less than 30 minutes & I'd estimate our feet were in the water no longer than 10 minutes via dipping in and out vs. a static soak which is impossible to soften cuticles and calluses. By the time we transitioned to the mani station I was ready to walk out. I had existing gel polish which needed to be removed and was lifting. I stated that at the beginning of the services in the pedi area. This was not soaked during the pedi. At the mani station, the first attempt to remove was grinding with the drill. When I objected, the nail tech chose to use his own bare fingernail to attempt to lift the remaining polish & then tried to grind off with the drill what was left. I pulled back several times when this was attempted since I haven't used a drill to ever remove gel polish & know this was damaging my nail beds.I then requested specifically to soak with acetone which typically takes 20 minutes. The tech did accommodate however the acetone was on maybe 5 minutes so it didn't come off as easy as a required 15-20 minute soak which should have been performed during my pedi. All buffing etc. was still performed with the drill. I requested to take a break to go to the restroom during my manicure & returned to request a change to just a file and buff of my natural nails because I was so hugely disappointed in the service & cleanliness. The tech was nice about it since he could tell I was visibly upset. The use of drills on natural nails is a clear indicator the techs are lazy & focused more on speed of service & most importantly this damages your client's nails! Services stated in the menu that weren't received for our pedis: no neck wrap, no warm eye mask, minimal time in the water, & massage was maybe 5 minutes. My manicure took maybe 15-20 minutes since I cut it short to walk out with just bare nails after all this nonsense. My husband & I get mani/pedis every two weeks for the last 20 years & have recently relocated from DC. Yes our bar is high for service; but I won't compromise on cleanliness & sanitation. The prices at this business are outrageous for the service & the cleanliness & sanitation need to be addressed immediately. If I could give this place a zero rating I would. We won't be returning & I'll let everyone know who asks that I don't trust their sanitation practices.

I was originally going to get Joe like I always get but decided to try something different. I ended up getting what is similar to acrylics, but they use gel and a shorter than stiletto almond tip. When she was finished, she suggested adding chrome and said that it would be so pretty. I've never had chrome she added, and it was beautiful. Prices have gone up so that a basic pedicure is now $60. I questioned my bill yesterday because what they charged me did not match the prices posted on the website.
