This was my first time going to this shop which is right around the corner from my house. I've been looking for a WT nail spot. I got the #1 spa pedicure ($55) , manicure (free with spa pedicure on certain days), and a 10 min chair massage ($1/min). In regards to COVID, I felt like they did shockingly well! The two women both wore masks and gloves. They cleaned down the surfaces of everything touched after someone used anything. When having the mani done, they had plexi glass in between myself and the manicurist. I felt protected, and hoped they did too. I tipped them exceedingly well under the circumstances. All of my services were performed by Johanna., she was very detail oriented. Spa pedi- it was so. nice and thorough. My feet were so peely/callused from quarantine but she didn't seem bothered. Mani- my nail shape is exactly how I wanted it. Chair massage- strong hands for a needed massage! All and all, I'm extremely pleased! They also have a punch card and on the 10th service you get $10 off. Glad to have found a local spot!

Messy left hand. You can see that the lines are blurred together and some of the colors aren't even fully painted on such as the blue

Good for basics, not for nail art Still on the hunt for a good nail salon in my new neighborhood. I love nail art so it's been a struggle to find a place that is clean, can do the art well and doesn't cost a fortune. Looks like when I want art, I'm still going to have to hunt. I came here yesterday, Monday, at 1:30 pm and there was no one in the shop. Great because the shop is really small. The pedicure was good (lavender soak, great massage chair, etc) but the manicure was less than perfect. I showed my tech a photo that might look fancy but it's just a bunch of painted on colored lines. She and the owner assured me that was simple and it could be done. My pinky nail looked good, wish there were closer colors to the photo but still. However, as the shop filled up and each staff was busy, my manicure lines got sloppy and some didn't show up. There was also paint on my skin and it felt rushed. I know that the point is to get as many people in the chair as possible but I would have liked some effort on my left hand, which is a mess. I wanted it fixed but at this point, I knew it was not happening. I was really hoping this would be a good spot for my future nail art but I would only return again for a basic mani pedi, NOT nail art in the future. I do think they are good if you want the basics!

This is my first yelp review I am writing because I am so upset and angry the way i was treated. I definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND this place. It's totally a SCAM.. and they treat you very poorly. Literally the WORST customer service I've ever gotten. I've never been treated this way as a human being and cannot describe how upset and hurt I am after going there. Just to give a behind story, I went into get my mani and pedi today. Before starting, I was VERY CLEAR on wanting to get my manicure and pedicure with the same colored REGULAR NAIL POLISH in sky blue in OPI. They started off with my pedicure first then moved onto doing my manicure until I realized they were actually applying a GEL manicure instead of a regular nail polish. This was during the final stages when the lady sprayed my hands and started rubbing my nails. I asked "Wait, was this Gel?" and she answered "Yes." I then asked if my pedicure was Gel too. She said it was a regular nail polish. Then I shared that I asked for regular mani and pedi with the same nail polish on both. Then the lady gave me a BIG EYE ROLL, raised her voice and said "Sweetheart, YOU KNEW", acting as if I really knew something.. I was so shocked and hurt the way I was spoken to, especially when they misunderstood and did something I did not asked for. I was so upset that I started looking for cameras wishing everything was recorded (who would have known to look for cameras at a nail salon..). There were two other customers looked at me with sympathy.. I hope they are reading this and can witness. I made myself very clear this wasn't what I asked for. It's pretty clear when I chose one color nail polish and asked to be applied on both fingernails and toenails. The lady then said "you want to take gel off then?" with lots of discontent and rudeness in her tone. My feelings were so hurt at this point - first, being accused of lying and second, calling me names like "sweetheart" as if i'm a little kid or a dog (Sorry I'm Asian and I look like a kid to you but i'm an adult in her 40s) Seriously, all I wanted was an apology for misunderstanding. Instead, they attack you. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.

The next day the nail is about to fall off.

pedicure was ok, thats about it when it comes to "ok". powder manicure peeled off the very next day. it started forming air bubbles and look fragile on the same day with the first nail coming off on the second day. I paid almost $70 for something to last a few weeks and it hasn't lasted a day. For the first time I went back to a mani place cause I was upset and wanted to give them a chance to fix it. after admitting that my nails looked awful, no apologies, no refund. I was told not to get powder manicure next time. The manners and customer service is all the way on the bottom.

I used to work at a very upscale nail salon in Tribeca that charged twice as much for their services as JC Nail, and I can tell you that aside from the Crate & Barrel interior decoration aesthetic and the free tea, there was no difference at all in the actual services provided. I know about all the things you're supposed to do or not do--how to know whether tools have been properly sanitized, painting the nail edge to prevent chipping, etc--and they do everything right. And the color application was flawless; I got a manicure last Saturday so it's been 6 full days (with several rounds of dishes and other housework in between) and it still looks this good. I hardly ever leave Yelp reviews, but I figured it was worth a minute to boost a local spot for those like me who wait until reviews roll in before trying a new place.

Let me start by saying that since I'm on this mission to find the best, I'm aware that costs may be up as compared to other mom and pop nail salons. And I'm willing and happy to pay if the service and environment speak to that. That being said, for cleanliness I do definitely give them a TEN. Everything was super spotless, super brand new, and the tools used on my feet were brand new from a package. They covered the foot sink with plastic as well. My service I would give a FOUR out of ten. My water was on the chilly side and when I asked for my nail tech to make it warm, she added a bit of hot water and that was it. I decided to let it go and enjoy my pedicure service. She did well with prepping my nail beds. She filed, trimmed the cuticles, leg massage- the whole works that came with my package. I did the Spa Pedi for 35$. When it came to polish my toes, oh my goodness, the young lady was SO NERVOUS. I have no idea why, but despite her nerves she was able to do my pedicure and I had to advise her to put 3 coats and 2 coats was still too sheer. Sigh. This had me disappointed too because I couldn't believe she couldn't see that. At the fancy drying station, I was offered a shoulder massage. I declined because I'm really not a fan of massages most times. When I went to pay, the lady in charge was very aggressive about leaving a tip for the nail tech- which I was planning to do anyway despite her nervousness. The aggression of the cashier really put me off- especially since my pedicure looked completely AVERAGE and medicore (insert eye roll) and the experience was average as well. Overall- if you prefer cleanliness over anything else, then this is your spot. Other than that I really don't recommend and i will not be back. $40 for a mediocre pedicure is just not my jam. What I think would make this place better is more confident nail techs, more warm ness from staff and even if they offered their guests complimentary lemon water or something! Give the customers an experience for the $$$. Oh and if you're wondering my pedicure was on 6/22. It is now 6/30 and it has chipped and smudged without me doing anything to it. Waste. My rating is 3.5 but I have to settle for 3 since that's what's available.

I actually had an appointment for a different nail salon in Park Slope but I'm glad I came here…read moreinstead. While the prices were not exactly the most affordable, I felt like they were competitively priced for the value I received. The interior is bright and clean. I was a walk in customer in the middle of the day so naturally it wasn't super busy. I was able to score a metered parking spot directly in front of the salon which was lucky. They are in Park Slope, a neighborhood that's notorious for difficult parking. Difficult but not impossible, so fellow drivers please keep that in mind. I wanted a gel mani pedi and eye brow wax. Their pedicure stations have jets which I love because I hate plain soak tubs. They line each tub for sanitary precautions so that's nice. My nail tech offered me a spa pedicure which I decided to upgrade to because it's been a long time since my last pedicure and as a new first time mom, I don't have much time to go out regularly to pamper my feet. The basic spa pedicure was 55 and an additional 20 since I was doing gel. Not too bad. The spa pedicure included a leg exfoliating scrub, 10 minute leg massage, callus removal, and some hot stones. Overall not too bad of a deal. I spent maybe 40 minutes doing the spa pedicure. The manicure stations were on a long continous bar and customers were on barstools. I really liked this style for manicure stations. There was even a long foot rest which was great for short people like myself. I'm super particular about my nails when they get filed into a shape. I'm all about symmetry and I asked for a square shape on short length nails. The filing was not even on some of my nails but its not noticeable but just something to note. Overall, I recommend this nail salon and I intend to return. My nails came out nice and its been a week later and my gel nails are still holding up well without any chips despite caring for an infant and hand washing dishes daily.
