They don't know how to do SNS powder and removed my powder nails with an MTA card, totally ruining them. My nails hurt for weeks afterwards. They put on a gel after getting the powder wrong, which peeled off within two days. Suggest going elsewhere. read more

Me and my cousin went here for the FIRST AND ABSOLUTE LAST time today. The place was empty and there were only three workers there. (who were completely untrained) Me and my cousin showed them the pictures of what we wanted (which were so simple) and started LAUGHING AND TALKING ABOUT US and continued to do so the whole time we were there. We said we wanted acrylics but then continued to just glue tips on us. The women who did my nails (who I assumed was Lisa) cut me, and I started to bleed. SHE DIDN'T EVEN SAY ANYTHING. 5 stars for the Pedicures only. I've been going for years and always had a great pedicure. They do a nice job with the cleaning, scrubbing, painting... but the best is the massage. It's several minutes on each leg and feels so good! I'll keep going for pedicures. TODAY WAS MY FIRST AND LAST TIME AT THIS PLACE. NEVER AGAIN!!!! I picked this place because of the 5 stars on Yelp, but they really do not deserve any stars. I should've suspected it from the beginning. Yesterday, I called to make an appointment for 3 people. The person on the phone "uh huh yes sure!" And hung up and didn't even ask me for my name. I thought that perhaps they took my info from their caller ID. Today, I showed up and it was empty but the Owner was running around as in she was a rush or something. They worked on our feet and everything seemed fine. Until they reached my hands' nails. I had SNS on my natural nails. And she didn't ask me if they were tips or natural? Or what length I wanted? Or anything. She went straight in with the nail cutter and chopped off my pinky nail. And in the process, she also cut my skin off and I began to bleed. I screamed SO loud and began to cry. She apologized and said "I thought they were tips!". And then she insisted and offered to finish the SNS manicure for free. This was my go-to nail salon before Covid hit. As it was the first place in the area to shut down, even before the city would have told it to shut down, I'd assumed it was taking the pandemic extremely seriously. So when it reopened, I made sure to go in and give it my business. My nail person remained masked, but imagine my surprise when a woman who appeared to work there was wandering around with her mask slung under her nose, and a guy sitting at the back of the room was completely unmasked. Questionable cleanliness ( towels they used were stiff and wrinkled, as if they'd been soaking wet and then laid flat or hung to dry; couldn't be certain they'd actually been washed). There weren't enough technicians to accommodate the customers with appointments (like me) and the walk-ins they took just before scheduled customers arrived. Proprietor was back and forth between the cash register, arriving customers, technicians who need translation help or help with French manicure(mine), and a gentleman getting a massage. Whenever we travel we try to support local small businesses. So while out and about exploring our Airbnb neighborhood of Windsor Terrace we came upon a nail salon advertising outstanding low prices for their services. Hubby said go ahead and indulge, my treat. Now that's an offer I couldn't refuse! A $8 professional manicure paid for my hubby?!? I'm in! Lisa, the owner was the tech assigned to me. I was instructed to pick a polish from the vast wall of colors. She immediately got to work, filing, smoothing, trimming, and massaging. In all the manicure lasted about 40 minutes with her taking pride in every aspect of the job. While it was a cheap manicure in price, it wasn't short on pampering and I left with beautifully painted nails that I was very happy with. So happy in fact that I returned the next day for more pampering as my piggies also could use a little love. Although I was assigned to someone else, who spoke very little, she also took great pride in her work. I was pampered and pimped for about an hour. I have never had so much leg and foot massage with a pedicure and was surprised when they offered an additional leg massage for $10 more which I declined. In all my pedicure lasted about an hour. Again it was well worth the $17 price tag and I left happy as a lark. I also had an eyebrow wax preformed that same day. While getting my pedi I noticed that it was their mission to not allow anyone to leave with dry, scaly or rough feet. Two older customers with feet in very bad shape were worked on with a cheese grater until they were filed smooth. It was gross to watch but that's dedication! My only gripe was my manicure started wearing badly within 48 hours even though I was on vacation and not using in hands in a manner that would cause premature chipping. Four days later and my toes still look perfect. Lisa and her team gave me some of the best nail services I've ever received for a low price. I'll definitely make it a point to visit them again when I'm in Brooklyn. SIDENOTE: take a card, as they have a loyalty program on the back for a free massage! I am floored by what just happened. I was speaking Mandarin with the nail technician, and she was asking lots of very personal questions. At some point, the topic of me being married came up (as often does in nail salons) and I mentioned my husband. She corrected my Chinese - "you mean your wife?" "No", I explained, "wo zhangfu" (my husband), now a little upset. "You're gay?!" "Yes. I'm gay, is that a problem? Do you not like gay people?" "No - I think boys should be with girls." She said making a squinty, disgusted face. "I don't like gay people". "Um ok. I guess we're done here." Probably the worst experience with nails ever. I went in to get a spa pedicure and an SNS manicure. The pedicure was fine and relaxing, no complaints. However, the SNS application experience was by far my worst nail salon experience. I asked them if they had nail forms to shape my nails to ballerina shape and they said they ran out but could do tips. I agreed to that since this is something I had done before. To start, she did not push back of clean up my cuticles so when she finally added powder, it went over my cuticles and looks terrible. Second, she put a transparent power first before adding the red power I had wanted. Not sure what the logic was for that but I've done SNS before and that was never part of the process. Finally when she added enough layers she didn't file the nails to the shape I wanted and they ended up looking like bubbles instead of ballerina shaped nails... disappointing. On top of that, because she added the clear power under and started to grind away to shape the nail certain areas on the nail had no color while others were red so there was a white and red patchy finish to the entire look... I had to step in and tell her how to fix it - using gel polish to add the red color back in instead of adding more red powder which would make the nails look more like boobs instead of nicely shaped nails. The owners daughter did my pedi which was fine but the owner did my hands and by far the worst I ever got. I won't ever go back to this place nor do I recommend it. I wish I could give zero stars. AVOID at all costs! I had my eyebrows waxed here for the first time (I've been waxing/threading since I was a teenager) and the woman--I think it was Lisa the owner--butchered my eyebrows completely. They are horrendous, small, thin, and in pain. She rushed through the process (the whole thing took maybe 1-2 min) was rough, rude, and totally ruined my eyebrow shape. I was in shock when I looked in the mirror--they look extremely bizarre and tiny! It's going to be months of regrowth and having to draw in brows (not something I've ever normally had to do!). I came here for a pedicure and a leg massage and was pleasantly surprised. I was first given the option to choose from several scented "pedi in a box" which comes with sea salt soak, sugar scrub, mud mask and massage butter. I chose the cucumber fresh one and I loved it. My feet was first soaked in the sea salt followed by a nice massage with the sugar scrub. A mud mask was then put on my legs wrapped in saran wrap while they worked on my feet and nails. After the wrap, I got an additional massage with the massage butter. They also gave me a free hot stone massage on my feet. The massage was great and relaxing and my nails came out nice.
