Brought my truck to this place to get my Cadillac converters done and three days later all of them ended up going out again. Brought it to a different place and told me they only changed one of them and I paid for all three not a honest shop at all. read more

I was in an accident. JC Towing towed my car to my home and was kind and compassionate with excellent customer service. A very nice tow experience with no hassle. I appreciate JC Towing for the care of me and my car. JC Towing picked up my car and towed it properly to where I wanted it. It was a great service to me to have that taken care of after my accident. I recommend JC Towing because of the care for the person and the car both is outstanding. Thank you. read more

My first time here was amazing. I was referred to by a good friend. I needed a water pump on my 2019 CHR replaced. I went to the dealership and they were trying to rip me off. I contacted Frank on a Saturday morning. He quoted me and took me in that morning and got the replacement done in two hours. I needed my car and he got me back on the road. He's honest, fair and I will be telling all my friends and family about this shop. He really helped me out. I'll never forget this one. read more

JC Auto Repair is my go-to fix-it shop for my 2008 Honda Civic. Frank, the owner, is extremely honest. I've taken my car to him several times lately after going over bad bumps or potholes, thinking I'd wrecked the undercarriage, to ask him to put my vehicle on the rack and inspect it. He has always done so, with a smile and no complaint--even at 4:30 in the afternoon, right before the shop closed! And, after inspecting it, he found no problems--and told me so, instead of trying to talk me into any repairs. On the other hand, a few months ago, when one of my brothers told me my muffler was going bad due to a loud hum in the cabin, I went to JC Auto to get that fixed--but after driving my car around the block, Frank said the problem was my engine mounts. After replacing the engine mounts, my car was quiet. I cannot speak well enough about JC Auto, Frank, and his level of knowledge and customer service, and highly recommend his shop to others. read more

While JC Towing was towing a crashed yellow Corvette a piece came flying off and hit my brand new car in another lane. It cracked my bottom bumper. A guy named Sal was driving and pulled over but refused to give his insurance information. This appears to be a dishonest shop. When we called they asked us to prove it. This was a brand new vehicle for crying out loud and Sal knows a large piece of the Corvette came flying off and hit our car. This is why they carry business insurance and liability insurance. read more

Frank and Cruz are the best at what they do. So many other mechanics gave me a way higher price, others tried ripping me off. These guys have never done anything shady like most other guys. Frank and Cruz always do the best at keeping my car running great. The prices are great too! This is the place you have to use to get your car worked on. I've used them twice now. Once 8 months ago to replace my clutch. It is an expensive clutch but not only was their price very competitive and fair but they took my truck in on that Saturday afternoon and I had my truck back Tuesday evening. I felt like a priority, but also felt that I could trust this mechanic. This repair was simple. New front and rear brakes. And again quick service. Called at 215, in at 3 and had my truck back at 5. The price was unbeatable, I called around and for the time and price no one was close. Friendly, trustworthy, and high quality repairs! Hopefully I don't have to come back to often but if I have to, I know my vehicle is in good hands read more

I came to Frank based on the 5 star recommendations and he did not disappoint. Great, honest service!

Frank at JC Auto is 'the real thing'. He is honest, always kind, friendly and more than fair. He and his crew have always treated me like family. Since 2011 I have brought my car here several times for regular maintenance (brakes, tune-up, etc) and then there's those pesky, unwanted, unplanned repairs. When I bring my car in (or have had it towed in) most of the time repairs are complete on the same day. Amazing! I will continue to use JC Auto. You should too! Best customer service ever! Thank you JC Auto! read more

Came in for an alignment/resurfacing and they did such a great job as usual. This shop is amazing with their dedicated and honest workers and amazing work they do! I have been coming here for years and also bring in all my family members' cars to Frank. Their services are fast and they always explain to you what's wrong and don't try to bullshit and over charge you on things you don't need. He's always honest and will get your car running smooth. Very thankful for his hard work and I will always be coming back to his shop. read more

Frank is the most honest mechanic you will ever find! I first came here last year - upon recommendation - when a hose burst and caused my car to overheat. He replaced 5 hoses for 1/3 of the cost quoted by a franchise auto shop. Recently he repaired an oil leak that was "fixed" by a shop i went to prior. He explained every detail of the job he was doing and replaced the exact parts he showed me (one being a new part that was installed incorrectly by the former shop). The price was still extremely reasonable for the intense work that was put in. Most importantly, he doesn't try to upsell unnecessary parts or push random repairs to make his money. Frank and his crew are honest hardworking guys and I wouldn't trust my car with anyone else!! read more

My car had been stalling intermittently and _nobody_ could figure out what was wrong. My go-to guy had been unable to make it stall. Usually a jump would make it start, so we figured something in the electrical system-- alternator or battery, but both tested fine. Anyway, my car stalled in front of JC Auto, on a Saturday, and while others just honked at me (yeah, I'm stopped in the middle of the intersection just to bother you, jerk!) a good Samaritan helped me try to jump it. Frank came out and tried to help, but we couldn't get it going. So he and my savior pushed my Acura MDX (not a tiny car) into his shop. He told me he would check it out for free and I left it with him and went to work. He called me at work and said it had started up just fine. I couldn't get to it before he closed, so he kept it over the weekend, and took another look at it on Monday. Once again, it started up fine, and he couldn't find anything wrong. So his advice was to keep driving until it died again and tow it in dead. He never ever charged me. I was too scared to drive it because I don't like driving a car that stalls while I'm cruising down the road. Losing steering and brakes at 35 mph is scary enough! Didn't want to go on the freeway. My regular guy, on a hunch left it out overnight on a chilly night, and it turned out the battery was the issue after all (it had been checked multiple times). Frank may have not been able to solve the mystery of my stalls, but he proved himself an honest mechanic and a gentleman. Both seem to be a rarity. I don't blame him for not figuring it out. It took my regular guy a week with my car and a cold night and a hunch to get the answer. But if you are looking for an honest mechanic, especially as a woman, Frank is definitely someone to see. If he had figured it out, he would have gotten five stars. But he gets all the others for being honest and kind. And to the good Samaritan, whoever you are, thank you! He said he imagined how he'd feel if his wife was sitting in an intersection with a dead car and no one helping her. Guys, when you see a woman with an obviously broken down car, think about that. And don't honk and yell at her. read more

Just picked up my car after having Frank replace a bad high pressure hose for the power steering. I have been taking all my vehicles there for years. You just don't find too many shops like this that are honest with what you actually need and at a more than reasonable pricing. I have sent so many people to Frank over the years and not one negative incident. Once you start using their services, you will begin to think of Frank and Cruz more like family you actually like! Fabulous! Seriously a God send! Our daughter's car broke down and she literally rolled in front of JC Auto Repair at 1230 am. The next morning, all we had to do was call Frank to have him look at her car, and he immediately assessed the problem and had it fixed within hours! What we thought was going to be a totalled engine ended up being a $125 fix! We were so grateful that our daughter didn't have to buy a new car!! Frank assured us that the car would be in good hands giving us peace of mind that he would get the job done in a timely and precise manner! Wow! Did he deliver! He even fixed her rear view mirror that was disconnected on his own without us even asking! We highly recommend JC Auto Repair! Frank is kind, patient, an expert in his trade, and explains the problem as if he is dealing with his own family. You can't go wrong here! read more

Best , most honest mechanic I've EVER met. Always does a great job for a very fair price. Thank you Frank for being such a great guy.

Frank & Sal were excellent. We had broke down on a long road trip just outside of alpine. After our 1st attempt at tow service from another provider fell though after waiting nearly an hour and a half. We contacted JC and Sal expedited our tow and came out personally to help us. Being under a time constraint and needing to be in San Diego for an appointment he got us towed to JC and we were able to make that appt. Frank diagnosed and repaired our failed water pump, timing assembly and cracked radiator in less than a day and did so at a very reasonable rate. Not only that on our return trip Frank asked us to stop in and free of charge checked everything over to reassure us that our trip back would be worry free (and it was). We are very appreciative of all they did for us and I only wished they were in our home town. I would recommend JC Auto to anyone and everyone. I can not say enough good things about them. read more

After 19 years, the alternator in my 1996 GMC Yukon finally died. My vehicle had to be towed. My tow truck driver, Louie, recommended JC Automotive on East Main St. in El Cajon. I had originally contacted El Cajon Auto Electric, but they acted like they didn't want my business. Louie told me most places only want to work on new cars and that auto businesses think that people who drive older cars don't have money. As it turns out, JC Automotive in El Cajon specializes in older cars and works on all years, makes and models. Frank at JC was very nice and took excellent care of me. I am very skeptical of Auto Repair shops since I worked for Automobile dealerships (Cadillac) for 20 years and I give Frank and JC Automotive 5 stars and 2 thumbs up! I'll have to check and see if they work on older Motorhomes! read more

I am delighted with the work I had done at JC Auto Repair. Free diagnostic confirmed what we thought was wrong, and the replacement battery plus installation was less than what was quoted elsewhere. read more

My family has been going to this shop for about two years now. We have always been treated well there. There was one incident where an inexcusable mistake was made with my dad's brakes but my dad took his truck back and they fixed his issue no problem (my guess is that since these were brakes, he'd rather be safe than sorry and right his wrong. he would not have done this had it been something else). Well i recently took my car there for some suspension work. My loyalty caused me to drive from Rancho Bernardo to El Cajon just to take my car to this shop. i told the owner that my suspension is really bad and i also asked if he could fix my bumper for me. My father doesn't live too far so i took his car back up to Rancho Bernardo. The owner told me he'd call me before the end of the day to give me the diagnosis as well as an estimate. i did not get a call. i had to call him and he said he tried to call me multiple times but i am a person who cannot live without his phone so that was not true at all. Anyway, he told me that i need new suspension all the way around, The Works. He also told me that my exhaust pipe was cracked and that i needed new exhaust pipe hangers. i trusted him because i had trusted him for the past two years. We agreed to do the rear of my car. He would completely repair and rehang my exhaust pipe and give me new shocks on the back which would solve my suspension issues in the back and that would cost me $500. i said let's do it. Fast forward to me picking up my car. It wasn't ready when he said it would be so i had to leave work to get my car. i pick up my car, get on the freeway and when i hit my brakes the front of my car started vibrating like hell. It was so bad i pulled over on the FREEWAY to see what the issue was. i couldn't see anything. It was so bad i turned around and took my car back to my dad and asked him to take it back for me because now i have to get to work which is even more inconvenient. i know a good amount about cars. It was as if my rotor was violently bent while at the shop. Before i took my car in, it made no funny noises. The only reason i took it in was because the suspension was awful. Now, half of my bumper is hanging off to the point where it's been rubbing against my tire. My automatic locks no longer work. My car makes a painful sound upon starting. You know how an old or fat person gets up and starts to walk and how they make all kinds of grunts and noises letting everyone in the room know that they are struggling? well my car now makes the car version of those noises. And to top it off, my driver rear door will not open at ALL. How the fuck does that happen?! The owner refuses to fix any of this. Now i could somewhat understand if i was a first time customer but my family had been loyal to this shop for years. i will never never never ever ever EVER again spend a penny at that shop or recommend anyone to go there. i understand people make mistakes but at the same time, we must come to an agreement about some type of compensation. The only compensation i wanted was my damn car fixed. If you ever have to take your car back good luck. read more
