We took our car back in and they told us they couldn't figure out what was wrong with it and to come pick it up. We asked for a list of tests they ran and the results. We got a small list but no results. A simple search from chat gpt told us what the problem could be and easy tests that could be run to confirm it. Two other mechanics confirmed that they could have run a simple test to confirm the head gasket was bad as well. Now we get to pay another mechanic to diagnose it and replace the head gasket after already wasting $900 with carsmart.

He explained what he thought the problem was from the description, I gave him the car, and called me back within an hour letting me know that he'd looked at it and gave me an accurate quote for what it would cost to fix it. It was my AC condenser that needed replacing, and they tested to make sure that my AC was working in the warm shop rather than the cold outside so that when the heat comes I have AC for sure. He told me to bring it back in if summer hits and my AC doesn't work, and he would take care of it.
