It could be worse. All the reviews talk about service and servers, not sure where they were. The address linked to JB's had sign for Izzies. A very small pizza joint. Ordered a pizza with mushrooms and onions. Got a plain pizza. The gentleman who took the order was careful of what we wanted. Pizza was cheese and no toppings. Receipt shows plain cheese, not the end of the world, just not sure what the counter man was writing. From out of town, went to the restaurant based on Yelp reviews. Learn a lesson. BTW pizza was ok nothing special and greek salad has never seen the contents of a real greek salad. read more

JB's Pizza - two slices of pizza in a box - Pizza Near Me - Orleans, Massachusetts

The first thing that hit me when I walked in this pizzeria was the heat. No AC, just pizza oven heat blasting everyone on top of the summer heat. The second thing I noticed was how dark it was in there. It felt like there was one light bulb for the entire room. There was a small child playing video games behind the counter and a woman who seemed very stressed out. Overall, not a great impression. My pizza just continued with this theme. Hot, but lacking in toppings, and not impressive. The crust was the saltiest crust I have ever tasted! I ended up throwing my pizza away. Time to find a better pizza place! By the way, this place used to be Hillcrest Pizza in 2015 (now new name and management). read more

JB's Pizza - Two tiny pepperonis. Extremely salty crust. - Pizza Near Me - Orleans, Massachusetts

First time trying Izzo's Pizza and absolutely in love! Huge fan of Greek pizza and haven't been able to find a light and airy crust like this in years! My husband picked up our order and was so impressed at how kind the staff was! Will definitely go back! read more

James from Izzo's Pizza was hugely helpful for our recent wedding - he went above and beyond on our rather large order and hand delivered the pizzas to our hotel since it was after hours! We cannot recommend his service enough, and the pizzas are absolutely delicious!! read more

When I called in around 7PM on a Saturday, the woman on the other end of the line didn't sound very pleased to be working. I ordered a single large cheese pie, she did say it would take 40 minutes. I arrived at the 35 minute mark as I didn't think it would take a full 40 minutes for a single pie to be ready. Boy was I wrong! I, along with several other orders, wound up waiting over an hour to get my order. I could see the staff was working, so I don't know if they were understaffed, but it seems like they only pumped through one or two pies per 10 minutes. The pie was cheaper than I'm used to, around 12 dollars for a large plain. When I got back to the hotel, it was still hot and actually tasted very good. If the wait wasn't so long for a pickup order, I'd likely give 4 stars instead. But service takes precedence over all, I will not be back for any more slices. read more

Delicious pizza and great salad - rarely do you find a pizza place that makes a good salad with the veggies sliced thin and lettuce chopped well. Everything was fantastic! We are working on trying all pizza places in the mid-Cape area and both agree Izzo's is in our top 5 now! read more

Visited Ames Pizzeria on a tip from friends tonight before heading over to the Cape League game in Orleans. We ordered a large vegetable pizza which was loaded with the appropriate amount of fresh toppings, nice crisp crust, tasty sauce and quality cheese. From ordering to being handed our pie it was a great experience and certainly a pizzeria we will frequent when coming to Orleans. read more

JB's Pizza - Veggie pizza from Ames Pizzeria in Orleans - Pizza Near Me - Orleans, Massachusetts

A good choice for takeout pizza to bring to an Orleans Firebirds game. This is the third pizza restaurant that we have tried in this location (it was formerly Hilltop Pizza and before that Stella Pizza). The location is near the baseball field and the pizza is good. The pizza menu is varied enough to accommodate different pizza toppings for different baseball games during a week. read more

Very responsive co-owner, manager Bena called me and apologized for the mishap. We have had delicious pizza here in the past when it was Ames and recently their white pizza. Looking forward to giving it another try! Thank you read more

Avoid this place. There were disorganized and very slow. The pizza was so so and expensive. I'd like to give them a second chance but I tried to call 35 times to place an order but all I got was a Verizon recording saying my call could not be completed because the line was busy. So I went there to place an order and wait for it and found out their phone was off the hook and they didn't know it. I wonder how much business they lost. I won't be going back. read more

So our first night on the Cape is always a busy one...unpacking and grocery shopping for the week... so for dinner we always opt for pizza. Sadly our favorite pizza place in Orleans, Zia Pizza, closed down within the past year. In checking the Yelp reviews, it seemed that Ames was going to be our best bet for take out. We scanned the menu and noticed they had MANY topping options and we decided on a chicken and caramelized onion pizza. The pizza was extremely flavorful.. nice sauce to topping ratio with plenty of delicious garlic! My only gripe was there was A LOT of flour on the bottom of pizza. Bordering on hard to eat as we made our way up the slices. I'd still go back because of the yumminess of the toppings, but I really hope they do something about the excessive flour. Not fun to get a mouthful of that!! read more

Had 2 pizzas delivered Friday night. One Veggie, the other sausage and mushroom. The best we have had on the outer cape. First of all delivery was quick and the pizzas were nice and hot. Great crust and toppings. This will be our go to place for sure. read more

This is a review for Izzo's in Hilltop Plaza. Got an Italian sub for dinner tonight. In addition to all the listed ingredients I added mayo. It was toasted. Delicious! And huge, I could only finish half. Although it listed provolone cheese on the menu there wasn't any on the sub. But it was still delicious! read more

Now named Izzo's pizza, I tried this on a whim and the pizza was excellent. Highly recommended!

Just ordinary. Flavorless and scanty sauce, sausage tasted only like fennel, boring cheese. Crust was good, but really could have used better ingredients. Chef's salad was fresh, but lacked much in the way of ingredients. Tomato, cucumber, onion, and a few sliced of ham? Turkey? Not worth a second chance. read more

We ordered five large pizzas a week ago. And then went for round two tonight. The vegetable ones were esspecially delicious. The combination of broccoli and artichoke hearts was super tasty. And the service was great too. read more

Best slice of cheese pizza on The Cape. Place is basic but so is the formula. Great NY style slice at a reasonable price.

They are very nice people, the pizza in my opinion is adequate- I found the crust to be chewy, prices were fair- give it a try, they are a small business trying to make a go of it read more

I have been a seasonal fan of this place since it used to be Hillcrest (?) pizza. It always struck me as a cut above the usual Massachusetts pizza standard, and it still is. I was impressed that another local place, Orleans Villa Pizza, offers "partially baked" pizzas. So if you're staying in a vacation place with a kitchen, you can pick up a pizza on the way home, let it sit for a bit until it's convenient to have dinner, and finish off the bake in the oven. Because we love Ames, we asked this summer whether they did anything like this, and to our delight they did. The pizza was perfectly baked, huge (barely fit in our oven!) and met our expectations in almost every way from past summers. The only problem, and it was kind of big, is the scant amount of pizza sauce on the pizza. I am sure I remember there being more, and I'm not 100% sure but I think they're using a new technique for applying it. They seem to be doing the "cheese everywhere, drizzle sauce on top" approach. I'm pretty flexible, but the amount drizzled on was approximately the same thickness as a normal layer of sauce, but due to the drizzle, only covering about 1/5th of the pizza. The end result, to my taste, is the pizza was only 1/5th sauced. It tasted "good" but not right, and it was way too cheesy (only because it wasn't balanced by sauce), kind of bland, and overall a disappointment. I'll be back to Ames because I've had such good experiences here, but next time I order I will ask for a side of sauce on the side. Especially if it's partially baked, I can "fix" it at home. If anybody from Ames reads this, please take it as constructive criticism. Your pizza is by far better than any others I've had in Orleans or neighboring towns. Whoever decided to cut back severely on the sauce, however, may not have the same taste for pizza as many of your prospective customers. I'm hoping the standard goes back to something more typical of a New York style pizza. One last note: I see another review titled "Thin sauce, not a lot of cheese" ... the picture associated with that looks perfectly fine to me. The sauce on that cheese is probably 4x as much as the drizzle (literally - streaks of sauce zig-zagging across the pizza) that we had tonight. read more

I realize that my pizza expectations are high coming from New Jersey, but this was a REAL disappointment. We took home a regular cheese pizza that was little more than what tasted like tomato sauce from a can with a light sprinkling of bland mozzarella on top (see picture). I've never had to season a pizza before, but this one needed a healthy shake of oregano, garlic salt, and pepper. Crust was pretty good, but a pizza needs more than that! read more

JB's Pizza - Thin sauce, not a lot of cheese - Pizza Near Me - Orleans, Massachusetts

This is probably the best pizza I've had on Cape. Thin crust, hearty pepperoni, tasty sauce. It can be greasy depending on your toppings, so not for the faint of heart! They also offer subs and salads. Also available is pizza by the slice. They have three booths and two tables. Bottled beverages and are a short distance from the bike trail. read more

My wife brought home a meatball calzone and it was the worst.Dry and burnt on the bottom with no sauce in it.NEVER going back.

Not sure why so many people like this place. Got a large cheese pie and it tasted awful. Like cardboard. Maybe it was just my pie but it's probably one of the worst pizzas I've had. There's much better pizza in the cape, Skip this place read more

When my husband and I first walked in, we were a little unsure of what kind of food this place would serve. When they say you should not judge a book by its cover, there is truth to that statement. Very good pizza! I ordered a large pepperoni, peppers and onion pizza, and it was 22 $. VERY EXPENSIVE, for a pizza with very little toppings! 8 thin and skimpy slices of peppers, had to look twice for the onions, and not much on the pepperoni. Also, the wait time was ridiculous almost 40 minutes for a pizza! read more

18 in large cheese pizza $13.50. Thin crust good amount of sauce and cheese. Better than most on the Cape. Few people long wait.

My favorite pizza in Orleans . I really like Margherita and Puttanesca. Good customer service!

Meh. Okay by Cape standards, but not $3-a-slice good. Plus, the edges of the crust are hard enough to break your teeth. The crust would benefit from a little more yeast and a longer curing time. read more
