I always have great food here! Clam chowder, green salads, eggplant Parmesan, baby back ribs.... Good service. Nice atmosphere!

I really was hoping the yelp reviews were wrong, but they weren't. This is a very average place. The atmosphere isn't terrible (although I expected that it would have a fun dog theme given the name - it didn't) but the food is likely Sysco and just not great. A yelper has commented they liked their version of a French dip so I ordered it - I've never had a cold French dip which is what this was with unmelted cheese. The good news is the server was nice, prices were decent and they're open late (we were seated at 9 pm) and not much else is, so maybe it's ok if you need a late night meal, but I wouldn't plan to go here. read more

They advertise as dog-friendly, but the staff was very rude about us wanting to bring our dogs. "No, we do not allow dogs. I'll tell them to change that." No sorry, And the place was completely empty, which might say something about their food quality. I would avoid this place. read more

Unplanned lunch stop that ended up to be an excellent move. Seated immediately and attended to promptly. We chose the wedge salads (for each of us) and one "personal 12" pizza to share. Freshly cut "wedges" with crumbled bacon and tomatoes with Bleu cheese dressing for me (The honey asked for balsamic vinegar dressing instead). The pizza - very generously topped 12" pie - totally enough for the two of us! The service - superb! Efficient, polite and friendly - even though the place got quite busy after we came in. Definitely a destination! read more

Lost Dog Pub - A very busy pub with excellent food and service! - American Near Me - Orleans, Massachusetts

Had the chance to try both of Lost Dog's spots in the same day (not planned btw). While the menu is the same, the service was not as good as the Dennis location. We had to repeatedly ask for plates or napkins from the start. I had the crab cakes, which while good were heavy on the bread filler and lite on the crab - the remoulade had a nice kick. Tasty overall and a large portion I was disappointed in the nachos - unremarkable ground beef meat - no flavor or seasoning and was left in the oven too long - the chips were burnt. Still a go to spot on the Cape. read more

Stuffed quahog was very good.....other than that is was bad. Took 45 minutes to get our lunch. August on the Cape one would expect fresh tomatoes on the sandwich- nope, was not eatable. Service was exceptionally slow. Will not go back. read more

I love the mermaid as you walk in the front door. Excellent customer service and the food is always first class. read more

I asked for a grilled Reuben. Never got it. Was that too difficult? And a bowl of chowder that looked like a cup. The prices are way too expensive for what you get. So not worth it. Don't waste your time or money. I'll NEVER go back there. I suggest you don't either. read more

My family and I went to the Lost Dog Pub in Dennis, MA last night. Yes, it was very busy, but we were actually seated quickly, so we were off to a good start. Unfortunately, that was where the positives ended. The real problem came when my wife politely approached our waitress away from the table to request something very simple: that my father's meal be served piping hot. (He often complains about lukewarm food, and we were just trying to avoid an issue.) Instead of acknowledging the request professionally, the waitress literally put her hand in my wife's face and snapped that she would "get to the order when she got back to the table." The tone, the body language, the complete attitude of disgust--it was shocking. Restaurants live and die on customer service, and this was a textbook example of what not to do. Nobody should ever be dismissed like that, especially when making a respectful request. If this is how staff at Lost Dog Pub handle customers, it doesn't matter how fast the seating is or how decent the food might be--you've already lost the experience. If you want to feel valued as a guest, go literally anywhere else. read more

So many great selections and delicious options. I was impressed with the variety and choices on the menu. (Be sure to ask about the specials too). We ordered the Chicken Parmesan and the Tavern Burger. Really good portion sizes and great flavor. Our server Bailey was helpful and provided great recommendations. There was plenty of seating and it's open late. read more

I loved the name of this place but the food was just okay. The plus side is they are open later than some other places around. The service was good! The bar area is a bit dark but it's a big restaurant. The drinks were delicious! read more

Seated right away and drink orders taken promptly. Took quite awhile to get our food. Crab cakes were flat and mushy. Swordfish was cooked well but the topping was salty. Not sure I would go back. read more

Poor service! Waited way to long to be recognized and seated and once seated waited 5 or 6 min before anyone came to the table so we left

Take-out of a few things. It was very good and we'd return. Basic pub fare with no problems.

Whenever we come to Orleans we stop in for a bite and are always plesased. Definitely gives off a family pub vibe with updated tables in the lower dinning room. I had the burger and it was cooked perfectly and the fries were crispy with a pillowy soft center. Our servers were there when we needed them and always had a smile. read more

The food we had was great-the service? Not so much.First of all,we waited about 12-15 minutes waiting to even be greeted by staff, also another 10 waiting to be sat.It doesn't sound like a problem, but there wasn't a lot of people even there! Our waitress was kind, but she waited so long to ask us for drinks,or even come over.I'll admit, the food we had was great and warm. The ambiance wasn't as peaceful as we expected,a bunch of people were being insane (I won't go into detail.) or just being plain old disrespectful. To be honest, our favorite part was leaving. We don't know if we'll come back to Lost Dog Pub-but if we do we hope for a better "experience" then this. read more

I was going out to eat at this place with my family who lives here in Cape who have told me good things. We get to the restaurant seeing a worker (my guess the boss of this place) yelling swears to her co-worker. In front of my children and others. If this is what the owner of this joint lets run her or his food business? Then I must know who they are so I can tell my friends and family not to come here. A work environment like that isn't good for business l. No matter what the circumstances were you never yell a your workers like that. Disgusted. read more

Food is mediocre at best and service is best described as uninspired to disinterested, don't waste your time or money.

Sometimes, like a dog lost, one wants to just duck in somewhere and chill. And with quality food and service at reasonable prices, this Lost Dog is found. Just recently, my wife and I were blessed to find Carol was our server; and this veteran lass is always on the ball. After lemon waters (forgot to say: skip the straw), my wife sipped a hefty Appletini while I quenched my thirst with a luscious Italian Pinot Grigio. After a nice spell, one we requested, we ordered their tantalizing Shrimp Pizza; and in a world filled with pies, this one was a standout with its delicate crust, chunks of thick shrimp, and a splash of fresh diced tomatoes. A young lad dropped off Oregano and garlic powder, too. Then, we even shared a smooth Kolsch draft with our scrumptious slices and even had some to take home - along with Carol's kind words. This place, simply put, is an oasis! read more

We were in the area and decided to give the pub a try. It's a pub, and it looks exactly like a pub should look like, we sat in the clean dining room, enjoyed our cocktails, and ordered. I had the blackened snapper with (house made) mashed potatoes, and asparagus, and a mango salsa, I gave mine a five star for a pub, it's not fine dining. My dining partner gave her cheeseburger and fries a four star, she felt it was very salty, but tasty. Service was friendly and attentive, but not rushed. The prices were reasonable for both dinners and drinks. We live on CC and will return! read more

Got to say this place is way better than its three star review. Pizza was excellent. Service was outstanding and they are open late. Definitely a go to place for future late night beer and pizza. Lot of interesting local art on the walls as well. read more

Our waitress Hannah was terrific. She offered great recommendations which we decided to follow, we were not disappointed

We passed on Knack and Cookes to go to Lost Dog Pub. Maybe not next time. The cocktails were good; Black Cherry Old Fashioned and Tropical Sangria which seemed a bit light on alcohol. The special Seafood Stew was thick and with a decent amount of seafood but lacked a punch; sherry or spicy pepper. The sandwich my wife ordered, Scallop Nantucket wrap, came without swiss cheese, tartar sauce, a pickle or french fries as indicated on the menu. I ordered the Cape Cod Ivan, local Cod, swiss cheese, Russian dressing and Cole slaw was excellent! For dessert the Red, White and Blueberry bread pudding was good for the July 4th holiday. read more

Hmmm. We have been hitting this place several times every summer for 4 years and I was a bit disappointed this year. I always get the steamers and they were so full of beer and basil it was all I could taste. I also ordered the seafood stew which I have in the past and my nine dollar "cup" of soup was filled with lumpy flour and shells that I had to spit out. Really bummed out. Hubs ordered the pizza and it was ok. Not sure what the situation is but it's heading downhill fast. read more

My husband and I order the Smokey mango margarita and dark Cherry old fashioned. Both drinks and the service were pretty terrible. Drinks were watered down. Decided not to order food on the account of the service and drink quality. The bill came with a $2 up charge for a "tall" margarita (which we didn't ask for). Also, watched the bartender make the margarita and it didn't fill the glass so she topped it off with soda water ..... Worst experience on our visit to the Cape. read more

The beer is cold, the service was good, the calamari was calamari-ey. Four of us went on a Sunday afternoon and sat at an4-top in the bar area. Two older gentleman were setting up to play live music: one was a guitar player and singer, and the other played sax (isn't the sax a sexy instrument?). They put their own spin on the classics. It was cool. read more

Granted we did arrive right before they stopped serving dinner and switched over to their late not menu but the food came out suspiciously quick. I had plain, tasteless rice with undercooked asparagus as well as a mediocre swordfish steak for $24. I wouldn't come again. The waitress we had was super nice though. read more

Waited for hostess who was rude and looked like she hated her job and just rolled off the couch. Server was nice but obviously overwhelmed. Waited for food until we thought about just paying for ginger ale and cold coffee and leaving.. then our awful crab cakes arrived so we sat back down and continued our horrible experience. Crab cakes were two soggy greasy tasteless small Pattie's barely holding its form. Then continued our never ending wait for main course. We gave up and asked waitress for to-go bag to escape further dining torture. Wife's salmon was uncooked and my chicken pot pie was horrible. As I was eating this tasteless undersized slop... I was thinking of hospital cafeteria food... never ever again. read more

Good experience at Lost Dog pub. Waitress and hostess were extremely nice and helpful. Son had fish and chips and the fries took up the entire small plate and fish was piled on top, no room to cut or even eat the fish. The Calabrese was piled in a soup bowl so no room to cut up. The garlic bread was cut up on a huge dinner plate. It was all good, but nothing special. Just presentation was underwhelming. Place is kinda divey, but prices don't reflect that, especially for lunch. Not a bad experience, but could of been better overall. read more

Excellent staff and food always a pleasure to visit and I have never been disappointed there

Stopped for a late lunch at The Lost Dog. We put in our name and waited ~15 minutes for an outside table. Once seated we were quickly asked for our beverage order. 2 locally brewed kolches (devils purse) on tap came out very quickly. For lunch I had the corned Rueben sandwich with fries. It came out rather quickly, was nice and toasty, and grilled well on both sides (i.e. crispy and not soggy!!!). The corned beef was chopped a bit rather than sliced. I personally liked it as all the meat didn't pull out The fries were super crispy and good, I have to admit that I had both ketchup and mayo on the fries. Awesome!!! I felt the price for lunch was super reasonable and would not hesitate to come back again. Great spot!!! read more

Some things were good (steak tips) while others missed the mark (cheese on pizza, sides etc.). I was most disappointed by seafood combo platter. $22+ for two small pieces of cod, two shrimp, and four scallops. I expected more from the cape when it comes to seafood. I won't be back sadly. read more

spectacular burgers and the pizza is really good (and I'm from New York and I know good pizza..).Most of the wait stuff is professional anf terrific and the one time something went wrong due to a young inexperienced waitress, it was rectified very quickly by another member of staff. I can't say enough good about Lost Dog Pub. As a single woman I've always been made to feel welcome and comfortable and they bend over backwards to make everything right. We used to come here a lot but the food seems to have gone downhill in a big way. Got the quahogs and they were SO dry it was so bad. We were starving we ate them anyway but a waste of 16.00. Chicken sandwich was tiny and SO dry, again. Fries weren't well done like we asked.. floppy out of the bag.
