Dog park for large dogs. Could use more light. Only light source is from baseball field.

Great addition to Gwinnett County, especially in Lilburn! JB Williams Park is located off of Five Forks Road, just a block or two away from Mountain Park Park. Although smaller, JB offers: - 2 separate dog parks (one for small breeds and one for large) - baseball field - skate park - large playground - 2 pavilions (one small with two tables and attached benches and one large pavilion with mutiple tables and benches available for rent at $60/hour) - an open field - a short, paved walking trail - large parking lot My son loves this park. He never wants to leave. Between the awesome playground and the cool skate park, he can keep himself busy for hours. However, we come here mainly for my other "son," our pet husky. We take our husky to the one for the large dogs and he goes absolutely nuts. He, too never wants to leave. He usually starts whining to get out as soon as we pull in to the park and jerks me all the way down to the dog park. He's not trained very well... It stays clean for the most part, although I have noticed more poop lately from the parking lot all the way to the dog parks. There was one right at the entrance of the large breed dog park, on the pavement during my last visit. Gross! That's a shame because there is a poop scooper, plenty of trash bags, and trash cans all around the park. Anyway, the dog park also includes: - water station with two fountains for humans and one for dogs - an in-ground water faucet (is that the correct name?) - a water bowl or two for the pups to share - one small pavilion with two tables and attached benches for the humans - two benches - activity/play area The only thing I wish this dog park has is more lighting. Sometimes I don't get there till 6pm or later. When it gets dark, it gets really dark at the dog park (see picture below). The only source of light is the baseball park, which is fortunately right above the dog park. They have a few LED lights, but those don't do much. Other than that, JB is a wonderful, clean park. I just hope people will do their part to keep it that way.

This park has a little something for everyone, including your furry friends. There are two spacious dog park play areas separated by size. A nicely paved trail that loops around the park for near to a mile. For the kids, they have a skate park and a playground. (Bonus: across from the playground is a fenced house with live chickens in their yard. The younger kids seemed to like looking at the chickens) Overall, it's a nice park to hang out. Full of people on warm days so not as easy around the playground and pavilion area to stay socially distant.

Yay, a new park! Even though neighboring Mountain Park Park is right across the street, there's always room for more, and this little park has a lot going for it. Here's pretty much everything you can find at this park, taken from the Gwinnett county parks and rec website: Amenities: 25 acre footprint Dog park area Skate complex Playground Pavilion Grills Meadow Baseball/softball field with lighted walking track Restrooms .75-mile paved trail The paved trail meanders throughout all of the above listed amenities, including the really large children's play area and the even larger dog park! The skate park is a very nice touch, and it also has a metal walkway with a staircase that leads down to the main trail. The people who constructed JB Williams Park definitely did a lot of right, so what can they improve upon? Trail markers Park map Working water fountains These three things don't exist at JB Williams Park. Please fix, and it'll turn an already really nice neighborhood park/play area for your kids (human or dog) even better! JB Williams doesn't have a monstrous parking lot, but it does a great job giving up enough parking spots for visitors. Exiting out of the park is no problem at all in either direction as well I really enjoyed my time here, and if i'm in the area, stop in for a quick walk

They have a nice field in the center of the park for playing sports with your kids, sometimes you will see people playing soccer or Frisbee. Throughout the year they do have festivals and different events here at the park and I must say it is nice that they have the Agavero Cantina Parkside (Mexican restaurant) that has been now for two years. They just updated their patio. Overall this is a nice park. They do not have any tennis courts as they were taken out to increase parking spots, but they do have a nice multipurpose trail for those who like to bike. In total, the trail is about 10K if you do an entire loop on both sides. Overall, if you live nearby, this is a great park. If you do not live near this area, then there are much larger parks with more to offer in Gwinnett County. [Review #603] (29th Review of 2019)

The bathrooms used to be filthy every time I would come in from 2020-2022. I would see workers cleaning them after 12 noon generally, but I just always happened to catch them when they were still pretty grimy. Recently, I went in this past Friday, January 27th, and the ladies' room was actually spotless compared to the other times I've seen it! Maybe I just caught it on a good day, maybe it was too cold for people to be out soiling it with heavy use, or maybe they've employed more workers to this park in the new year, but in any case it was a pleasant surprise. That's really the only gripe I've had historically with this park in the 3 years that I've been living in Norcross. Briscoe, Shorty Howell, Alexander, and Bethesda are probably some of my favorite Gwinnett parks just to name a few for various reasons, but Graves Park still trumps many Dekalb or Fulton parks in terms of cleanliness, overall safety, accessibility, parking, walking trails, scenery, and available picnic areas/ bathrooms. A lot of people love Graves for the dog park section. I haven't had a dog since my childhood, but it seems like a good place to let your furry friends run if you need the space. I personally like this park for the trails. There is a longer looping option through the woods and a shorter loop around volleyball/ tennis courts and the backside of the playground. All the patrons here are pretty friendly that I've encountered. If you need to get out of busy soul crushing traffic on Chamblee-Tucker Road or Jimmy Carter, come stretch your legs at Graves Park - a nice little getaway from the madness.

Shade is hard to come by in the middle of a hot Atlanta day - so, if you don't want to die from a heat stroke, come equipped with a tent or something. The main attraction is a splash pool that kids just go ga-ga over. There is pretty good parking options available, with just a short walking distance to the splash pool, even shorter to the playground. Apparently, this is a predominantly Latino neighborhood, judging by the dialects used by kids and adults alike. There are some peddling their wares (food, drink etc.), but they are not particularly intrusive. We had a fun and hot afternoon!

Harbins Dog Park has three large fenced areas. One for small dogs, one for families with mixed sizes and one really large area for big dogs. The openings to each area have two gates to ensure your dog doesn't make a break for it and the small dog area has playground equipment for the little fellas! All have a shaded sitting area for owners, doggie water fountain, plastic bag dispensers and garbage cans. There is also a paved track that loops around the football field and doggie park. What makes Harbins Dog Park particularly nice is its location. A secluded area on the opposite side of the football field with its own parking. On days where there are no other dogs, we find ourselves watching as cars pull up to see if our little rascal will have a small playmate or if its a larger dog... and he watches too! We either say, "Yaaay, here comes a friend to play!" and he goes bananas or "Sorry, no playmate" and he shrugs it off as if to say "oh well!" I swear he seems to understand! Is that weird or is that a dog park thing? I'm so new to all of this I have no idea what's normal. NOTE: There are reports (on the park Facebook page) that some owners dogs have been aggressive and the owner did not manage their aggression, but so far in 8 visits there have been no serious incidents that I've witnessed. We did have a little weenie dog try to attack our little guy just seconds after walking through the gate, but the owner was quick to react. Downhill from the doggie and football area you'll find a toddler playground, open fields for family sports, restrooms, and a 1 mile paved loop trail. Overall, a very quiet little area for those who don't care to walk the more populated area of Harbins Park just up the road. 2018/67
