    Non paved trail

Lovely park with a little something to do for everyone. If skateboarding is your thing check out the skate complex. If your into field sports check out the baseball/softball and soccer field ( with a football overlay ‍). Tennis players can check out the tennis courts. Parents can check out the Playground. Need some exercise? Check out the 1 mile paved looped trail or the non paved trail near the picnic tables.

I like Mountain park park, and not just because I have to say park park. It's heavy of sports participation, with several baseball fields, one football field, a few tennis courts, a volley ball field, and even nice bouldering rocks near a swing set...y'know, for those times you want to rock climb but don't want to fall more than 5 feet. In addition to all of the organized sports, whose fields are all kept up and look great, there's a skate park, two play areas for kids and lots of walking/cycling trail, both paved and unpaved. There are two paved trails, one inner trail and then an outer trail, which hugs Pounds road for a time. Both trails add up to 1 mile total, and there's several natural trails that crisscrosses through the woods, also lined by benches here and there. There's also a small pond and batting cages to round out everything on hand at this park, along with several parking spots to choose from, although during baseball or football practice, I could see this park being slammed with people. I visited just around noon on a Wednesday and outside of two or three people on the trail, and a handful of folks playing tennis, it was a fairly empty park, something that you may want to take advantage of if it's more congested during the afternoon. The park is kept up nice, and even though the walking trail is 1 mile in length, it sits on 44 acres and there's plenty to do for practically everyone...even if all you want is to sit and read, because as luck would have it, there's a library is beside/in front of the park, so go grab some reading material! Nice neighborhood park with lots of opportunities for fun. Definitely worth stopping in if you're in the area.

It has been a while since I've been to Mountain Park Park (seriously, it is 2 Park's in the name). It's been a good 10 years, I believe. The reason why I never thought about returning back is because I wanted at least a 2-3 miles trail. I'm not a fan of baseball field scenery either. However, I do remember liking it and it's one of the better parks in Gwinnett County closer to where I live. I didn't want to drive to far. Plus my dog is 15 years old and needs some exercise, I thought giving the one mile trail another try. Anything over one mile is too much for her. Mountain Park Park is located in Lilburn in the Parkview area off Five Forks Trickum Road & Pounds Road next to the Mountain Park Library. The park isn't too crowded. Many people are walking their dogs or with their kids at the playground. Besides the baseball fields, you will see people pracitcing football and/or volleyball. There is a small pond on the left side of the trail. People who went walking were very friendly too, many said hello. This park will be a regular to take my dog out for some exercise.

I have to start off by commenting on how massive, gorgeous and well supplied this park is!!! I'm not sure if the problem concerning teen encounters inside the bathrooms has been addressed and taken care of, but I did not see any kids acting suspiciously in or near any of the bathrooms. This WAS my first visit at this park though, so I guess I'll have to return on other days and see. Most areas of this park have light poles, keeping the park well lit once night sets in. The skate park has more of the late elementary to middle school aged kids, with a couple of high schoolers and adult skaters. One very large bowl that really consists of three bowls that are connected, giving it a nice flow. No rails, half pipes or volcanos which would have made for a great add to this gorgeous park. I found three cool playground areas. Each are placed separately from each other. ~The swing set and rock climbing wall appealing more to the late elementary/middle school kids is located between a sand volleyball area and the skate park. ~A larger playground geared towards mainly elementary school aged kids is located closer to several baseball fields. ~Another large playground set for toddlers/young elementary school aged kids is close to the tennis courts. I couldn't believe it when I saw several batting cages, some equipped with a motorized ball thrower. There were also several baseball fields with active games while I was here. The tennis courts are beautifully set up and made me want to take up tennis again. Last but not least, a concession stand!!!!! Too bad it was closed during my visit. Overall, this park appears to be very well maintained and manicured. This park is definitely a beautiful place to come and enjoy. Because of the size of this park, the addition of safety cameras might be nice considering previous comments about teens. This park was very very VERY busy though, so I do wonder if security cameras would be of benefit. Each area of the park is close enough to other parts that a visitor should not feel secluded or in a potentially hazardous location.

The name of the Waller Park Extension game are fields. Several different fields litter the area and I counted at least 4, crammed into this tiny foot print. Parking is surprisingly very spacious and in fact, there's a lower parking lot that's just behind the City of roswell office that you pass to get to another area of the park. Down below is more parking, as well as yet another soccer field. Front and center at the main portion of the park is a nice children's play area, that was being taken full advantage of by kids, and strategically placed near the play area, were benches for parents to sit and watch or just for anyone to sit and soak up the day. Park up keep is very clean and well put together. I didn't see one stray piece of trash, which is pretty cool! There is an aquatic center to the left of the park (if you're facing the children's play area), but i'm not sure if it is affiliated with the park itself. There are no hiking trails here, but my guess is you're not coming here for that, and that's cool. If you have kids, play sports or just live close, this tiny little park is your little secret. If you're looking for a hike, or a monstrous mega park, you wont find that here. Nice, clean, small park with lots of parking that gets the job done. Definitely a fan!

My friend was telling me how awesome it is....and she was right! There are lots of sports fields here and I know Roswell recreation department offers sports classes for kids. There are 2 play structures. One hue one for older kids including a rock wall, huge slides, and other various things. Then a smaller one with the same kind of things on a smaller level. They have several swings including a tire swing and handicapped swing too. There is a pavilion are with lots of shade, and there is good shade coverage from the trees as well. There is also a huge skate park in the back!! Also community tennis courts! This seems like a great park and we will definitely be utilizing it!

This park boasts great walk/riding trails, large expansive green space, and just the best kid's play area. Now this play set is average in size and boasts a small and larger kid set, but the reason it's awesome is the kids! We were there for about an hour and the kids had all made friends, organized a zombie tag game between themselves and were having a blast. Sweet parents chatted together and it made me feel so good to hear the giggling sound of kids playing together! We will be back for sure.

It has a couple of playgrounds, a lake, and even a doggy's park inside the area. While I was walking around I also got to pet a couple of doggies and it was great!! There are plenty of benches, and picnic areas too.

When…read moreI was there, I observed a kids soccer game, picnickers, hikers, dogs being walked by their owners, Girl Scouts having a meeting, fisherpeople, photoshoots, children playing, birthday parties, and people just chilling by the lake. Seriously, that's nearly everyone who wants to be outside! Regarding hiking, the trails are not marked very clearly. The map doesn't show all the turnoffs, and it gets confusing. Maybe it's this way to give you a sense of adventure? At least it's tough to get really lost since you're often within sight of houses or the road. Beautiful woods! As for restrooms, there was a porta potty in the parking lot adjacent to the playground by Lake Erin, and the map indicates that there are other restrooms in Henderson Park too. Speaking of maps, I might recommend a quick peek at one before you go since the park can be accessed from different roads (Henderson and Livsey). This is a great neighborhood park. If I lived nearby, I'd take a walk here every chance I could. In addition to the trails, there are athletic fields, a kids play area and a great wide deck where people can look out at the lake or eat a nice lunch. There is a lot of parking and the park itself is well-maintained. I was able to find a map of the park trails online, and it was helpful but trail maps aren't perfect. I tried to walk as many of the trails as I could, but I was turned around a lot. We'd also had a lot of rain prior to my visit so a lower trail path by the lake was flooded. There is a small waterfall in the park, and I think I saw it but I'm not sure. There were a lot of rock formations in the creeks/streams, and none were labeled. I went to Henderson Park with a friend who needed to use the bathroom. The main bathrooms are located on the west end of the park by the soccer fields. On the east end of the park, there are port-a-potties. There are no bathrooms near the kids park which was a surprise and why I mention where the bathrooms are located. Overall, I'm glad that I gave Henderson Park a visit. The people who live nearby are lucky to have it.
