Seriously, that's nearly everyone who wants to be outside! Regarding hiking, the trails are not marked very clearly. The map doesn't show all the turnoffs, and it gets confusing. Maybe it's this way to give you a sense of adventure? At least it's tough to get really lost since you're often within sight of houses or the road. Beautiful woods! As for restrooms, there was a porta potty in the parking lot adjacent to the playground by Lake Erin, and the map indicates that there are other restrooms in Henderson Park too. Speaking of maps, I might recommend a quick peek at one before you go since the park can be accessed from different roads (Henderson and Livsey). Didn't get to explore the other side of the park with the native plant and wildlife walk this trip but next time!

This is a great neighborhood park. If I lived nearby, I'd take a walk here every chance I could. In addition to the trails, there are athletic fields, a kids play area and a great wide deck where people can look out at the lake or eat a nice lunch. There is a lot of parking and the park itself is well-maintained. I was able to find a map of the park trails online, and it was helpful but trail maps aren't perfect. I tried to walk as many of the trails as I could, but I was turned around a lot. We'd also had a lot of rain prior to my visit so a lower trail path by the lake was flooded. There is a small waterfall in the park, and I think I saw it but I'm not sure. There were a lot of rock formations in the creeks/streams, and none were labeled. I went to Henderson Park with a friend who needed to use the bathroom. The main bathrooms are located on the west end of the park by the soccer fields. On the east end of the park, there are port-a-potties. There are no bathrooms near the kids park which was a surprise and why I mention where the bathrooms are located. Overall, I'm glad that I gave Henderson Park a visit. The people who live nearby are lucky to have it.

Very. Pretty. Plenty of trials to explore - follow the creek all the way down Houston Mill and Hahn woods. In fact if you're driving Hahn woods is a good place to park as parking is not great anywhere around Lullwater. There is a deck that you can pay to park in at the Emory Clifton campus - that is the closest parking I believe.

I was searching for a nice local playground. When I saw the YMCA, I thought there had to be one…read moreclose by. When I saw the Dekalb Parks and Recreation sign, I knew I hit a jackpot. I wasn't searching for the latest playground tech, just enough to keep my toddlers entertained. I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived to this playground. It has fun things for all ages. I wish it would get a good pressure wash at least once/year. Nonetheless, it has swings, slides, rock climbing, monkey bars, giant swing, giant spinner, zip-lining, and tent areas for grilling and/or entertaining. Did I mention the YMCA has a water park? It's a special bonus. We'll be back for sure!

Just off of the parking lot you will find an outdoor workout area. There is some really nice equipment out there including dip bars, pull-up bars and balance boards. The park is situated just off of a paved bike/jogging/dog walking trail, the Dunwoody Trailway. There is a dog clean up station at the trail's entrance. You will find a couple of nice shelters at this park. One small and the other mid-sized, and both with picnic tables under them. They are not available for rent. They are first come, first served. The park features a fenced in splash pad with water that shoots up from spouts in the ground. It does not have any above ground water features, but is still nice and refreshing on one of those hot GA days. It is button activated and runs for 30-minutes. This splash pad is touted as being the city's first. Additionally, the park has a nice bathroom facility. The park's playground is on the mud free rubbery surface and has some modern, new equipment. There are percussion instruments, a fake log, a saucer swing, a friendship swing and toddler swings, a large jungle gym with monkey bars, slides, ladders, bridges, and canopies. There is a smaller jungle gym for little kids. That apparatus has a small slide, tunnels, and other fun stuff. This is a newer park, opening in 2023. At 5-acres, it is kind of small. I still like it though. It may not be a destination park, but still worth a visit if you are in the area.

This park is deceptively huge. It spans 135 acres and dates back to 1954. There is a decent amount…read moreof parking available for visitors. The park is actually two sections, separated by a lake. The park is a nature park has has many picnic tables and shelters, with picnic tables under them scattered on both sides of the park. Some of the picnic tables and shelters are located along the river and provide some panoramic views. The park also features a nice nature trail that is in the wood and pretty well shaded. On one side of the park you will find a small, but newer playground area with percussion instruments, saucer swings, and a couple of slides. It is pretty basic. The other side has a much larger playground. It has a huge play structure that looks like a fort and has a rock climbing wall, slides, and bridges. There is also a pyramid net climber, saucer swings, and toddler swings. The equipment is pretty spread out and in pretty good shape. There is a smaller play structure for little ones which has tunnels, slides, and bridges. You will find rocking animals in that area as well. This side of the park also has a restroom facility. This park is certified as a wildlife habitat and you will see water fowl, geese, beavers and squirrels up close and personal to name just a few animals. Someone was fishing while I was there, but I do not know how good the fishing is, or even if it is allowed. I do not know if it is part of the park, but across the street you will find a huge and amazing baseball complex that looks like it is home to a junior college. It is nice and very well maintained. All in all, this park is decent. It is well maintained and the lake and views are awesome . I will admit that There is not much to offer outside of the trails, shelter, lake, and picnic tables. I like the park, but I was not wow'ed or overwhelmed. The playgrounds are somewhat basic and probably would not holds a kids attention too long. This park would be great for those looking for a nature park.

Since it is relatively new, all the equipment is in good condition and well functioning. Honestly, there are a lot of things to keep kids occupied from swings to slides. I can keep myself busy if you ask me :) There are some benches to sit around/have a picnic but overall not very big. The park is gated so it's fairly secure and there is plenty of parking. There is an adjoining open area if you want to get your dogs and let them play around (note: this area is not a true dog park as there is no place to throw doggy poop other than going back into Ethridge park and throwing it in there). I believe they have some events there too. Overall a very nice park!

This is a marvelous little play area built for children with mobility issues in mind. The park is actually a lovely 1863 homestead and 15 acres of lovely woods with some mighty centuries old trees standing tall and beautiful. The trails are kept by a devoted community of supporters, as well as the home and yard at the entrance. The forest provides plenty of shade where you can still manage a comfortable stroll even on hot days. It feels more like a nature hike than a park trail. I'm glad I found this park, it is my new favorite! The history of the homestead and property adds to the charm!

They have a nice field in the center of the park for playing sports with your kids, sometimes you will see people playing soccer or Frisbee. Throughout the year they do have festivals and different events here at the park and I must say it is nice that they have the Agavero Cantina Parkside (Mexican restaurant) that has been now for two years. They just updated their patio. Overall this is a nice park. They do not have any tennis courts as they were taken out to increase parking spots, but they do have a nice multipurpose trail for those who like to bike. In total, the trail is about 10K if you do an entire loop on both sides. Overall, if you live nearby, this is a great park.
