Not a bad place, it has two playgrounds to choose from. I would recommend it on a summer day; the ice cream man came through as well

In search of a new place to get my daily 10,000 steps, I came across Glenlake Park. What an…read moreincredible experience. This park is connected to a beautiful cemetery with such interesting history and views. It is so calming walking the paved paths amongst the burial sites and seeing the love and adoration of the families caring for their ancestors' resting places over the years. This park also has a tennis court, a public pool, a basketball court, a small baseball field, a general field, a pond, and a playground. It is clean and quiet, and those visiting the park are incredibly friendly. I tend to rate parks based on their visitors, and most of my "good evenings" were met with a very pleasant response unlike some of the more busy parks in ATL. There were families riding their bikes together, couples strolling amongst the graveyard, an older gentleman fishing in the pond, young men competing on the basketball court, people respectfully walking their dogs, a yoga session happening in the field and much more. This park is a catch-all for any age and experience. I'm sure I'm missing some of the amenities -- it has a lot to offer. Shout out to Decatur for maintaining this little gem. I highly recommend.

From the moment I walked in, nothing but attitude and drama. There was a block on my account, I try explaining yes I was here a few days ago and I spoke with member services right behind you and they said they were submitting a ticket to have it removed. She said well I can't let you in. (There's a bit of back and forth) I walk to member services and she literally follows me like I'm stealing from a store or something. I sit down and begin talking to Celestine - Rosa repeatedly interjects and I ask her "why are you bringing this energy over here? I'm dealing with Celestine now please go back over there". She eventually returns to the front check in once prompted by Celestine. Celestine takes a look at my account and it shows as active on her in. Eventually the wellness director (a very nice lady) comes over, calls corporate and gets it resolved. The wellness director tells me I'm good to go. I go back to the front desk and Rosa (again with an attitude) tells me I need to take a picture I tell her I look crazy and can't today. She says she can't let me in. (Mind you I've had a membership for YEARS and have never been treated like this or had an issue). The Wellness Director tells me that is their policy but to just go enjoy my workout for today. I tell her no thank you and that I'm going to leave as I feel it was Rosa's personal goal to ruin my day regardless.

My child is slightly scared of heights so the gondola ride up was a little scary for him. Once we were on the top, he was fine with the open views of all around Georgia. He was even playing around with his friends making the ride back down more enjoyable for him. That is what a good view and fresh air can do for you. 31.07.2026

I'm personally not a fan of Stone Mountain Park because of the history tied to this location. Stone…read moreMountain is home to the massive Confederate Memorial Carving of Jefferson Davis, Robert E. Lee, and Stonewall Jackson. The mountain was also the site where the second Ku Klux Klan was founded in 1915. Knowing that history made it difficult for me to fully enjoy the experience. They've built a family-friendly attraction area around the park with shops, activities, and entertainment, but when we visited, it was DEAD. There were barely any people around, and the area felt almost deserted. I'm not sure if it was the day we visited, the cost of the attractions, or simply that people come more for the hiking and scenery, but the attraction area lacked energy. The mountain itself and the surrounding nature are beautiful, but personally, the history behind the site is something I can't overlook. I'm glad I experienced it once, but it's probably not somewhere I'd go out of my way to visit again.
