Beautiful place for photos. Beautiful spring colors, fall colors...and not crazy crowded.

Magnificent public garden park. No better time than now to visit the garden and enjoy the fall foliage. This par is beautiful and meticulously maintained. So proud of Gwinnett Country providing this garden of tranquility. This park is very scenic and pretty . So much that many a folk come here to have their wedding pictures taken. Its just beautiful. In addition, the park is very well maintained. Easy paths, fauna and foliage is labelled, various sections and themes, including a Japanese Garden. There is also a grand gazebo by the lake. Quite a few sculptures. Plenty of nooks and niches to sit on a bench and just let the serenity take over. I hope you'll stop by when you can. This is one spectacular park.

GORGEOUS! As I continue my search for more new parks with paved trails to keep the walk with the tot in the stroller interesting, I came across this gorgeous park in Gwinnett! This is a VERY well kept park, with a medium sized lake and paved trails through a multitude of small themed gardens (whimsical, rose, grecian, asian, southwest, etc) each with their own small trails and unique plants and art (statues etc). There is also a small children's garden maze near the elaborate mini train tracks system (only open May through September). There is also a mansion on the property, with a small chapel and various event spaces. The lake has a huge gazebo on one side and a viewing area on the other. Everything is fairly handicap accessible (great if you've got a stroller in tow). Beautiful park, worth a visit! There is plenty of parking in the large lot, and yes there are clean public restrooms on the property.

Vines Gardens is a well sculpted 25 acre estate that was the home of Charles and Myrna Adams until 1990, when they converted their property into a public garden. Since then, the mansion has evolved into a private event venue while the gardens still remain open to the public. There are numerous named gardens all around the property, each with unique features such as the Rose Garden with its Romanesque statues and columns, or the Japanese Gardens with an Asian inspired wooden boardwalk and plantings. Central to all the mini-gardens is Swan Lake, a peaceful pond with several overlooks and a beautiful bridge painted in white on it's far east side. Come to think of it, the Japanese Gardens are on the far east side of the lake too... how clever! One garden that captured the attention of our 3 year old grandson had a complete train city with bridges, buildings and cars to scale. "Train Gampa... see train! It goes tooooooot tooooot!!!" he exclaimed followed by joyful laughter as the train circled the track. While this was a major thrill for him, my teenage sons were busy capturing creatures and battling other players as they played Pokemon Go on our mobile phones. Evidently this place is loaded with whatever it is they need to play at this location. Typically botanical gardens would not hold their interest for very long, but I couldn't get them out of here due to their desire to capture Pokemon. That in turn gave me plenty of time to walk around and take pics when they would normally have been pushing me towards the car. Am I the only parent that finds this game to be an ironic twist of fate? FINAL THOUGHTS Although it was late summer and not much was in bloom, it was still a very serene place to be. I caught up with my wife sitting on one of the many swings along the lake trail after I had gotten every pic I wanted. She seemed to be in a complete daze and was somewhat startled when I sat next to her. "We should come back here one weekend for a picnic" she said softly. I could see it in her eyes that she loved this place, which immediately made me think of Charles Adams (the original owner), and how he must've had all of this built just to see the same look in his wife's eye that mine had while gazing at the beauty of this place. Truthfully it is not all that impressive when you think of some of the great botanical gardens in the South. However, for the romantic, it's everything! An ideal property where you could easily visualize generations of your family returning to gather by the pond. Oh how someday I hope to have the financial ability to build something inspiring and spectacular like this for this woman I affectionately refer to as my 'rib'. Until then, Vines Gardens will have to be our inspiration, and what an inspiration it is! 2016/99

For about half of the time I've lived in Georgia so far, I'd lived in Loganville, so I'd heard about this place and managed to visit it a few times. Some of the time it was just parking in the (very spacious) parking lot taking with my mother. A couple of times I'd gone in because it's a tranquil place. It had been a while since I had gone, so I picked up on what I call an "unfortunately bright day" (I actually prefer clouds, rain, and mostly indoors, but that's me) and went to the park. A Gwinnett County park, it's free and open to the public. Since it is out in Loganville (a place that some people I've said the name to respond to with "Where's *that*?!"), the popularity of it is very slight. This trip I'd gone, it was literally five minutes at the entrance before I'd actually seen anyone. Both of those groups had dogs in tow, so one gets the feeling people come here to go on walks with their "pets". I like the serenity of the park, though, because one can really get into one's thoughts there. In most of the gardens one can sit, close one's eyes, and contemplate whatever. The most readily accessible garden is the "Asian Garden". The last time I'd gone, which was just right before their renovation a few years ago, this Garden had a few more details to it. The only thing "Asian" they seem to have left is a covered bench, raised, wooden plank paths, and a few non-native plants. A somewhat-picturesque white bridge connects the two sides of the park across the lake (which has a few, very shy turtles, and even a snake). This bridge has no shade, though, so I can only imagine people actually congregating and looking out at the barely-there (and not quite so picturesque by itself) lake in the autumn. Other gardens they have I'd seen this trip are: * the White Garden: why they call it that, I have no idea. It literally has two picnic tables in a tucked-away section of grass behind some hedges. That's it. Maybe it's the "White Garden" because of all the open space? * the Rose Garden: a garden with the most details. When I'd gone this last time, they had rose bushes on metal lattices, but no roses were blooming. There are a few statues before the garden and within it to look at. Some of them have pieces falling off, but they have an art-for-art's-sake appeal. * the Butterfly Garden: one of the most educational parts of Vines. There's a poster showing the various native and visiting butterfly species one might see, and further down the path is the actual garden, complete with a butterfly house. Like a good number of the plants and trees within Vines, there are labels telling one the common and scientific names of the flowers the garden has. I saw no butterflies, but plenty of bees. * the Southscape Garden: a red brick-path garden adjacent to Oak Grove Road. There isn't a lot to this one either. One of the main attractions is the Vines Gardens Railroad. On select weekends a model train runs along the somewhat-detailed railroad. One can stand along the path at its side, or sit behind the railroad house in some "field trip seating" above the creek. I suppose because it wasn't running that day contributed to the lack of population within Vines, too. Finally, there's the Mansion. Vines Gardens is a local wedding/social gathering venue, so there's a lot of eye appeal around the Mansion. I could imagine people socializing with drinks in their hands and servers around them with hors d'œuvres at various places around the mansion. I could see where happy newlyweds and their families would stand to pose for pictures. It's all very typical wedding venue, but it is all nice-looking. I believe there were even a couple events that were about to take place or wrapping up between the mansion and the pavilion. I barely registered the people, so that might be a good thing. I also believe there may be a couple more gardens I may have missed, so that's something to come back for, at least. Apart from casual walking, the railroad (if you want to bring kids that would be into that sort of thing or are a model train enthusiast yourself), a photographic practice binge, or social events at the mansion, this park is kind of blah. It is moderately cool because of the little details, the various statues, the botany and lepidoptery pieces, and the railroad, but I wouldn't say it's somewhere to go regularly.

It's a vine garden park. Beautiful location for wedding and things like that. A small garden and mansion like building is the main attraction here ,the walking trail and lake is plus. Check my photos here ,so you will know what to expect. I went here on 2009-2011 , I don't know how it's look like now, but then it's georgoius.

One of my favorite gardens to walk thru! It's so pretty and peaceful any time of year but especially in the spring. A hidden gem!

I guess the significant other and I expected more Asian art or shrubberies. This would have been a cute picturesque spot for our engagement shoot but the trees overhead provided too much shade for an early evening shoot. The Rose Garden was unique with its white columns and statues. It wasn't an expansive garden, but it was nice as it was situated in a sunlit area. The park also had a miniature railroad track along with its own town. It looked like toys for the children to interact with. There was a fence around the area so I guess it's only open during certain times. The children's maze seemed fun and interesting... I am unsure of its depth though as we only took a peek inside. The hedge was about 5 feet tall as I could sort of peek over the hedge. There seemed to be another area that might have had walking trails other than just the immediate areas as you enter the park grounds. Plenty of parking to be found as this isn't a popular park. It's clean and nice for sure! There was plenty of nooks and crannies to explore though.

I remember my first visit to the park many, many years ago. The lovely lake and bridges, pavilions, themed botanical gardens, the statues throughout the park, the paved walking trails and the entertaining Vines Garden miniature railroad which has over 1,000 feet of track and runs through a little train town. Although all those things still exist, the park is no longer well manicured and has lost some of the natural beauty I remember it once held. There is a lot of overgrowth of the bushes and trees and the weeds are taking over. It is still a nice and serene little park to visit with very few visitors, but no longer one that I'd make a trip to enjoy its beauty.
