I really like this park because not only is it near my house, but they have ample parking and a really nice dog park. You have to walk a bit to get to the dog enclosures, but it's not that bad. You need to bring your own plastic bags for dog doo. The park does not provide them. I noticed all the dog walkers had bags. Nice! There is a large dog enclosure and a small dog enclosure. Not to worry, the fence between the two is quite safe and sturdy. Both enclosures offer a lot of space for running and exploring. So far, folks at the park have been quite friendly. So, why only four stars? The litter. I can't believe the amount of plastic bottles, beer cans, Red Bull cans, bottle caps and more all over the place. There are plenty of garbage cans. Don't be a litter bug.

Great park!! i'm glad I found it. One day I was searching for dog parks in the area of my Brookhaven residence so my pooch would have somewhere to run around and we both could get our exercise in. I discovered Graves Park thanks to Yelp, it was everything that I was looking for. There is plenty of parking so no worries there. Next to the parking area is a playground and also a pavilion for large gatherings. There was a tennis court, and also an area for volleyball as we walked in. I started off on the trail unsure of where the dog park was but I figured I would see it eventually. The trail is paved and very clean with lots of grass. When we finally found the dog park it was in the center of the park itself all paths lead to it. I was impressed Graves Park hands down has THE BEST DOG PARK in the Atlanta area ( fast hand clap!!!). Go figure there actually exist a dog park with actual grass and not a bunch of dirt and poop. This dog park consists of 3. One is a park for all dogs, there is a large dog area and a small dog area all separate but next to each other. My very aggressive Miniture Schnauzer can only enter the small dog area when its empty so fortunately it was empty. The adjoining large dog area had a few large dogs and my little Coco was ready, he challenged one of the dogs and they ran back and forth barking at each other thankfully the fence connecting the two parks has tiny holes so they could sniff but not bite so every thing was good. There were guys playing soccer in a field on one end of the park. If you desire a nice park that's not ridiculously congested with an amazingly clean dog park, Grave's Park is for you.

Graves Park was pleasantly surprising. The park has tons of wide open space and different things to do for the entire family, especially your fur babies! This park features a massive dog park, separated by sections for small and large dogs. For the kids, there is a playground located near the far end of the parking lot (which btw has plenty of parking spaces). For adults, there is a volleyball area complete with sand, two tennis courts. If you are into scenery (who isn't) there is a nice lake located in the center of the park; and as if that is not enough...towards the front of the park is a pavilion with a staging area that I am sure would make for a great place to hold small summer concerts. There is also a small soccer field and an area for grilling with tables and benches. The main attraction for me is the park's paved and non-paved trails. The park's website does not list the non-paved portion of the trail, but as I was walking along the paved path I could see at least two access points where the path veered into the woods. Neither of which are marked, so I opted not to go explore. However, because it is winter and the trees are bear I could see that there is a bridge located farther into the woods (where it leads....who knows). As far as the paved path, it loops around the entire park taking you pass all of the amenities I mentioned earlier for about 1.5 miles. The path is an easy walk, flat surface with no steep hills and benches along the way. Happy Trails!

I read some of the info posted along the paths near the fountains and learned that Roswell actually used to be part of Cobb County. I had no idea and found that really interesting having just moved here to Georgia earlier in the year. They had some other facts about the area and history on that part of the river too. What was great about this park was that it was pretty dead on a weekday morning. A lot of other parks are usually busy at this time, since we are still going thru the pandemic of course. I think we only saw one other person on the trail (with plenty of room to distance) and one other person parked in a car off to the side of the trail. We enjoyed the seclusion. I liked everything about the park - the gazebo and fountain area, the view of the river down the trail, the historical value, etc. Just a nice place to exercise or go to relax. I hope to be back soon.

We ended up hiking about 6 miles in nice shaded area on the trails. Some rocks and roots, so you must be careful. Relatively flat with a few small hills. The big downside is there are no trail markers or signs, so having a person in your group that is familiar with the area is necessary. We had two people that knew the trails, so zero markings was not a problem for us. Great outdoor area. Currently (4/23) there is construction of new water treatment plant along the river. Not many people here, so is sort of a hidden gem. Every one in our group enjoyed the hike. Lots of free parking. Restrooms available, but they were so-so inside. Definitely worth a stop. Also CRNRA Jones Bridge unit is across the river for additional hiking trails and is very well marked for easier navigation.

What I loved most was seeing all of the deer in plain sight. What I loved least was hearing our coonhound barking at all the deer relentlessly. The only complaint is that the bathrooms were absolutely disgusting. Also, we like to let our dog go for a swim off leash which is not normally an issue. However, off one of these trails, she jumped from a steep embankment and wasn't able to jump back up. This was really our fault for not checking first whether she would be able to get out of the water. Thankfully a few of the passing kayakers stopped to help us. Parts of the trail back up into people's backyards which is also kind of strange, so you don't necessarily feel as though you've been transported to somewhere remote. But all in all it's a fun place to walk and the trail is not too challenging.
