Not quite sure what to think about Chattahoochee pointe park. I kinda thought it was a newly developed and incomplete park, because there were areas of the park that didn't look finished, but based on the reviews it's been accessible for a while. Chattahoochee Pointe Park lays behind a large subdivision, going from paved road to gravel, and near the parking lot you have a shared Sustainable community orchard. I don't know if there's a grounds keeper or if it's literally ran by the community, but it was sizable enough to plant several things. It's also freely accessible to all with no gate to speak of. Taking the trail that for the most part parallels the Chattahoochee river, it's a green wanderland. Yes I meant to say wander, because you find yourself going this way, that way, and taking tons of photos on certain parts of the trail, especially on the eastern side of the trail where the hooch is easily visible. Several warning signs along the eastern leg of the trail warn of a dangerous drop from a steep cliff. Believe it, because while you can get very close to the edge and take pics, it is a decent drop that can hurt you, or worse in certain places. The park is definitely teaming with life, as you often see butterflies, bumblebees, all sorts of birds and large fruit (plums maybe?) that are growing from the trees. If you live in this neighborhood, it is in fact a great park for you! When the trail is not directly following the river, you can find yourself in a meadow, which sees you often walking through a see of yellow flowers and green grass, on a trail that's kept up, although some areas had much higher grass along the trail, that I avoided for fear of finding a tick on me. There is a small children's play area that's kinda a softer foam so that if they fall they wont get hurt so bad. Next to it is a set of covered park benches and a bbq grill for general use. There is a dedicated restroom, two of them, that are not flush toilets. They did, at the time, have several rolls of toilet paper, and while there was no sink, there was a dispensing hand sanitizer in each restroom that worked. A few water fountains can be found near the play area and restroom. Near the restroom is a dog water fountain and a hand washing station, but none of these worked near the restroom. I'm not exactly sure how many miles the trails make up because the map at the park doesn't give you trail lengths, but none of the trails felt very long. There aren't any big hills, and as it's a very flat area most of the way, practically anyone can walk it from your 9 year old to your 90 year old. One of the reviewers mentioned this was the beginnings of a great park, and I agree! I just hope they add a little more, connect a few more water lines to fountains, and make the park just a bit more accessible, and it'll definitely get a star bump up from me. As it stands, there wasn't much to the park that I was excited over, and for now, it's just okay

Great flat walking trails. Peaceful surroundings along the Hooch. Frisbee golf too. Biking is also a great option here.

The McGinnis Reserve Lake and Walking trail is interesting. Part of the perks of being a member of…read morethe McGinnis Reserve subdivision, non-members do have access to the walking trail via the Suwanee Greenway, which rests right along this subdivision. The lake that the paved walking trail surrounds is 20 acres total, and the trail is generally kept up fairly well, minus the side stepping all of the geese poop. The lake itself, which you can't fish out of, is a pretty clear and vibrant lake. Wildlife i've seen have included the aformentioned geese, cranes, and i've seen a few turtles as well. There's no mileage on the actual trail, but I do believe it's less than a mile and is flat in all but a couple of spots with a high hill. There are two access points to the walking trail and lake, one being near the suwanee greenway trail opening (very close to the entrance tot he subdivision), and another via a set of stairs, which leads to the actual subdivision homes. There is no direct parking for walkway access, outside of street parking. I parked at the clubhouse at the rear and walked to the trail. It was about a 12 minute walk, so you'll get a work out in when you combine that with the trail walk itself. Do you HAVE to visit this trail? Well, if you're not pooped out from the grenway, it's a nice lake to take in. If you live here, you definitely should be here daily. But I wouldn't make a special trip to this trail alone. Another fun outdoor stop worth checking out. Give it a shot if you can!
