Fun, top 40 music (with some deep cuts), easy-to-learn but challenging-to-keep-doing moves, and a great work out. Instructors and other class members are friendly and personable and push you if you want to be push and leave you be if that's what you want too. Their slogan is "it's not about how it looks; it's about how it feels," - and it feels great! Online registration is easy and quick.

The studio itself is relatively small, as it's one mirrored room with a bathroom in the corner, but has enough space for 20+ people in one fitness class. They provide yoga mats, towels, hair ties, and a shelf to put your belongings in. There's a fun disco light that sometimes gets used in select dance fitness classes, and also warm twinkle mood lights for the more relaxing yoga classes. There's street parking, which is decently easy to find (I've gone here for almost 2 years and I've never not been able to find a spot within a 5 min walk). Now, for the classes they offer here. As mentioned above, Oula is the best. It's a 50-minute high-energy dance fitness cardio class that's full of fun and sexy moves choreographed to the latest pop hits. What I love most is how empowering the class is--it's mostly women (everyone is welcome though!) singing and dancing together to uplifting songs. I can always count on Oula to cheer me up on a bad day. P.S. if you do try Oula, I recommend booking at least your first class with Quincy, as she's especially good at getting you pumped while shouting out the moves to help you follow along. The studio also offers other classes, including Barre, Pop Pilates, Hoopnotica, Zumba, yoga (in the form of Oula One), and Mixxedfit. There's a wide range of classes for you to try, so you really can't go wrong here! I originally found Compfit through Groupon and got addicted REAL quick. I am now on the 6-month membership, which makes booking classes super easy. Takeaway: Compfit makes working out fun and easy through various group fitness classes. I highly recommend trying this studio out!

If you are a newbie to yoga, I would recommend their C1 class, which goes over the fundamentals of Vinyasa yoga at a reasonable pace. I personally I haven't tried C1 at this specific location (went to the Ballard location). However, if you have some experiences with yoga and weights, I highly recommend their Yoga Sculpt class. The class is upbeat and is a mix of yoga poses, cardio and strength training moves (squats, lunges, bicep curls to name examples). You get extremely sweaty since the room is also heated, so don't forget to bring a towel for wiping off. The asthetics of the gym are not as posh as the Ballard and Capitol Hill locations but it is kept clean and the showers are stocked with shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Keep in mind, classes are not reserved ahead of time (unless if you sign up via ClassPass). They do offer a 1 week unlimited class pass, which you will have to sign up in person.

Whenever I am trying to work at a steady pace, and move from one machine to another, most of the other members are monopolizing the equipment by sitting lazily on the machines, all the while staring at their phones. Hey, after all, the seats ARE comfortable, and everybody else does it! What can a fitness center do about this? Well, it would be nice if LA Fitness could put up a sign encouraging members to stand up and move away at the end of their set, and share their equipment with other members. LA Fitness could even provide little chairs or small benches, for the smart-phone addicts to sit on between sets. As for me, I like to quickly do my set, and then move on to the next machine---combining resistance training with cardio training. My approach is designed for overall health! Hey, I thought "health" was what these fitness centers were designed for....

There are always weight racks and machines available in the morning and there is plenty of space compared to the other options. The facilities look small from the outside, but they are much larger inside than you would imagine (basement gym room, pilates/dance room, and the sprawling floor with plenty of thread-mills, ellipticals, bike machines, rowing machines, weight machines, multiple weight racks, at least 4-5 adjustable benches near the free weights). Yes, the equipment is somewhat dated but for what you get it's a pretty good value considering you're not constantly colliding with people just to get a workout in in the morning. I've never had any issues here with cleanliness, and things are kept in tip-top shape. The folks who go to this gym are respectful of their surroundings and clean up after themselves for the most part, unlike the slobbery I saw down at the University YMCA (back ages ago in 2019-things might've changed!). Shoutout to Kevin for the friendliest service (the staff is helpful and responsive)! I can't speak for the other reviewers who seem to have a gross sense of entitlement, but this was the best gym I've been to in the Green Lake area. PS If you're afraid of COVID, why are you going to a gym? Just stay home, or exercise outside...for free.

Hesitant to come back after this experience, my account went into decline after not attending for three months. When I went in to talk about rejoining, the manager told me I would have to repay all the membership fees to reopen my account, and that I was getting a "rocking deal" by not having to also pay for the months my old card was declined (the one I had to cancel because of them). Make it make sense why I have to go through fixing their mistake only to be asked to pay more later because of this mistake. Extremely disappointing, and while the gym is great, they should really reconsider who they are letting run this place.
