Nice Wood Windows & Remodeling - Gap under large slider. He had said it would sit on the deck. You would not put a deck that high.

After reading all the other reviews I thought I had found someone that could do a quality job for…read moreme. Sadly, that did not happen - the installation of my 2 sliding doors looks like a really bad DIY job. I think he could do a good job with basic window replacement. But I would not hire him to do a job larger than that. A factor may have been that he was not on site when the subs were, so if he's using subs for your job, I would make sure he's supervising. Also, I would make sure that if he's doing multiple windows that are priced separately that he does the least expensive item first, so he'll be motivated to complete the job. Caulk is also not his strong suit - he uses it in places where he shouldn't and then doesn't use nearly enough where he should - move than half has already separated around the large door. Background: I had a Pella sliding door and custom window ordered through a contractor with whom I cancelled the contract. I contacted Pella to make sure the sliding door and window had been ordered and that they were aware that I would make the payment when they arrived. I asked if they had a recommendation for someone to install them and they recommended Mark Anderson of Nice Wood Windows, who used to work for Pella. I was told he was a Certified Pella Contractor, which I later found he is not. I love the sliding door that was installed but the installation is defective. The brick work is abhorrent. A guy named Lynn did it and it doesn't meet building code, he used the wrong color of mortar, did not clean up after himself (he dumped concrete in my yard) and did not listen to me when I said I had extra brick. So, there are huge gaps in the mortar and he used bricks that don't match the existing. On top of that, Mark Anderson said that the kitchen window was the wrong size. He said it was 3" too tall. I measured and it's only 1/4" taller than the one being removed and there is a 2x2 above that. And, the window delivered *is* the size that was ordered and the size indicated on the invoice which I gave him a copy of *before* he made the bid. That price was the only reasonable price in the contract - it was $650 rather than $3500 I paid for installation of the sliding doors. I'm now stuck with having to find someone else to install the kitchen window and need to get the brick repaired and the defects with the installation fixed. While the value of my house should have increased with the installation of the windows, the poor quality work has reduced the value. He did initially offer to have the brick guy fix the brick. I said that would be okay if Mark were present given the mess he made previously and I was worried he would damage the windows (again he took no care with my propery). Mark gave me a slight discount and offered an additional $250 to have someone finish all the work - e.g., bad caulking and support for slider. That doesn't come close to compensating me and at this point for all the work it will take to fix this mess.

I did feel bad that it was my temperature gauge outside said 105, but this is Texas in August. They never complained and did great work. I will be using them again for other projects around the house.

I just Kelly divorce from my husband and I have four small children that live here in the house with me, so I don't have much money for remodeling or any of that what's Chief the owner of Chiefs Remodeling Company was extremely mice and sweet I was able if you work with me on my payments and even got a gown to wear but he would finances or me and let me make the payments if I can with no hassling me or not bugging me for money... I can you recommend company by all means you will get a satisfying result work that needs to be done and the crew is it really mature a nice bunch of guys. So with all this said I think you would be very satisfied with the end results and also the beginning results of the project, because Chief we'll go over whatever it is you want done then you will take it back to you office work does the final draft of everything that needs to be done it comes to you either in person or by email or even my text message with an estimate and ask when we are good time for y'all to meet up. To discuss what is being done, then I did a time when you decide that is what you want and the price is fair for you yeah we'll sign a contract that would include half of the job full payment upfront, I was a little skeptical at first are you reassured me that everything was good. I want ahead and sign the contract I gave you half down I'm glad I did because now already $6,500 job, that I put $3,250.00 down and I'm paying payments at $45 to $75 a month, witch ever I can afford... Thanks a bunch. Julie Anderson Fort Worth Texas 76103..
