    Pecan chicken

Jay Jays was a pleasant place to find a meal at affordable prices. Our waitress was really nice and made good recommendations on what to get. We ordered the cheese fries to start with their homemade ranch. They were tasty and filling, but be advised they are made with processed cheese slices and bacon. I had the pecan chicken and a dinner salad that counted for my 2 sides. The chicken was thin and so tender I could cut it with my fork. I would recommend it. The chicken fried steak looked and tasted like it was heated from a pre made frozen variety. We did not try the pies but they looked delicious. The prices are great here and they have specials for lunch and dinner.

Breakfast time and Jay Jay Cafe has been our go to place for many years. The service here is very good and friendly. Coffee refills keep coming. Breakfast is made to order always hot and fresh. On the menu I like the waffle the best. The pancakes can be thick, but my husband gets them and really likes them. The eggs, hashbrowns, and bacon is very good. I had the biscuit with gravy last time instead of toast and the biscuit was tasty. They also have omelets, but I have not tried one of them. Coffee is very good I seem to drink more coffee at diners. This location is a nice neighborhood diner also serves lunch and dinner nothing fancy. I stick with breakfast.

Lots of options to choose from friendly staff the only thing just the chilli quilles sauce was cold and the cheese wasn't even melted as if they rushed it out. I would go back but tell them make sure it's at least warm

    Monte Cristo

The Monte Cristo was the worst sandwich I have ever had in my life. The bread was soggy and fell apart before I could even finish the first bite. The fillings? Bland and lacking any flavor. There was no powdered sugar or raspberry preserves. I threw the whole thing away. It was a watery, tasteless experience. They should be ashamed. I will never go back.

Country Breakfast #4: home fries cooked the way I asked, perfectly executed eggs, crispy bacon, yummy sausage patty, oh so good biscuits with sausage gravy. Cinnamon Roll: freshly backed and delicious. Iced Tea: strong and fresh.

What a great neighborhood cafe. My wife and I had just finished an appointment in the area, and it was time for breakfast. Jay Jay's was right where we were, and we hadn't dined with them for quite a while. So Jay Jay's it was. The cafe wasn't too busy when we arrived. The interior was warm and inviting. After looking over the menu, and enjoying a cup of Jay Jay's awesome coffee, we placed our order. My wife LOVES LOVES LOVES French Toast. She ordered the al a cart French Toast with no meat on the side. I ordered the Combination #4 with two eggs over easy, sausage patties, hashbrowns, and a biscuit covered with sausage gravy. Oh my, our tummies were going to be in heaven soon. After a short wait and time to gulp down more coffee, our breakfast entrees arrived. And wow were they good, no great! Both of our breakfast platter were so delicious. What a great way to start the day off with a hearty breakfast. Thank you Jay Jay's for the wonderful breakfast, the smiles and the great service.

Visited this little place with a recommendation from a local. Food was decent but not sure I would personally recommend it to anyone. We didn't try the pies, which seems like that's what they're known for. I got the mushroom Swiss burger and it was a little crispier on the outside than I would prefer. The staff were fast and extremely friendly. Seating was open to your choice, appeared clean.

TL;DR: Planned to grab a quick sandwich. Ended up eating more than half the menu with Daniel Vaughn while chatting with the talented Marc Fadel. Smoked meats? Incredible. Lebanese twist? Genius. Hospitality? Unmatched. This was a five-star meat miracle. It was just past 11 on Saturday, and I had a simple plan: swing by Habibi Barbecue for a sandwich and skedaddle. But as I pull up to the Ghost Food Park, I spot none other than the BBQ Snob himself, Daniel Vaughn, admiring the big steel offset like it was the Mona Lisa of smokers. We chatted. I fanboyed. He offered to share a meal. I said yes faster than a fat cap melts under a low flame. Out come the trays. Not a tray. Trays. Plural. Overflowing with bark, juice, and joy. The brisket was textbook: tender, smoke-ringed, and confident. The burnt ends were candy with a bark, kissed by just the right amount of sauce. The pork ribs held their shape but surrendered with a gentle tug, seasoned like they'd been given a TED Talk on flavor. The dino beef rib was a whole paleo protein event: massive, primal, and mind-blowing. Tucked underneath the pile, pita bread soaked up all the meaty runoff. I made a little Habibi taco with pickles and sauce that nearly brought a tear to my eye. Then came the burger. Looked like a classic smash: double meat, double cheese, pickles, mustard. But that Lebanese purple coleslaw? That's the twist. Tangy, crunchy, and the perfect cool contrast to the rich beef. Fries were crinkle-cut, crispy, and praise be unburdened by a salt mine. Now my wife, The Side Dish Sage, wasn't with me this time, but she would've elbowed me out of the way for a second helping of the tabbouleh salad: bright, herby, and packed with cucumber crunch. The garlic potatoes had the crisp-on-the-outside, creamy-on-the-inside thing locked down. Finally, the Lebanese BBQ bowl: rice, lettuce, pickles, pickled turnips, hummus, pita chips, tzatziki, and a healthy heap of brisket. It's a flavor bomb. A Texa-bibi mezze miracle. Marc Fadel, this man is the real deal. His family is putting out food with soul, smoke, and story. And they're only open Friday night and Saturday. That's confidence. That's swagger. That's knowing you're serving something worth showing up for. Habibi Barbecue wasn't just a quick lunch. What I got was better: hospitality, conversation, and a top-tier meal with legends on both sides of the table. This is what barbecue is about: community, culture, and craft. I came for one sandwich. I left with a full belly, a full heart, and a new respect for what happens when Texas smoke meets Lebanese spice. That, my friends, is what you call a pita party.

A few changes wonderfully take what could be a normal barbecue truck to a whole new level. I got the Lebanese plate. A lot of care went into the preparation of every aspect of the dish. The pickled veg and turnips added a bright pop to the perfectly smoked and seasoned brisket. The cucumbers were cut so as to perfectly mix with the other ingredients so every bite was perfect and balanced. The rice, often a side thought, was seasoned and delicious and even had meat laced throughout . The hummus on the dish was also very above average. It was a good portion that was surprisingly light thanks to the veggies. The people are masters of hospitality. A true gem I'll be returning to as often as I can manage. The only downside is they are only open Friday nights and Saturdays (until they sell out). Fantastic otherwise.

I really didn't think it looked terrible as I had thought from what I've read. If you haven't been before, you'd think it was a very festive place! There were lots of smiling faces of kids and families watching the train go around. I figured with less decorations there'd be less dust but there was still some on the banister. Nostalgic. Lol. We sat in the room to the right which paneling has been painted white and given nice new floors. It really brightened up the room in a good way! One of the small rooms now has some arcade games. Dining on the left side still had dark panels. The chips hardly had any seasoning on them (which my Mom appreciated and I missed from previous ownership). Just bland sad little chips. The salsa was runny as others have mentioned. I got the $18 brisket quesadillas which left something to be desired. They were the flattest quesadillas I've ever seen - just some cheese and a little brisket. Served with small scoop of guac, sour cream, and pico that didn't have any jalapenos. It's almost like they don't care or aren't trying. They could easily put onion & bell pepper in at the minimum. Throw some lettuce on the plate to not make it look so sad and empty. Or maybe change to a square plate. I hope this is no sign of how the food will be with new concept. Adios Campo Verde. I don't live in Arlington and just recently moved from Dallas to Ft Worth. While looking at properties in Arlington for the day, this looked like a great stop. The reviews were mostly strong and the pictures I could see reminded me of my favorite Dallas steak fix, Bob's Chophouse on Lemmon. It doesn't have that vintage, chic atmosphere sadly, but it is old TX, steakhouse, 80's style. Colby asked if we wanted a menu and I said yes. He brought one for us both. I asked if they had any happy hour specials which is mentioned often in their reviews. He haughtily informed me that, "They don't do happy hour" and then giggled. Yes, giggled, the only other description is snickered. We ordered a Tito's Dirty Martini and Guinness and decided to stay anyway. He served my martini slushee and a good pour on the Guinness. He simply never came back. Everyone else had nuts and their orders taken. He avoided us as if we had the Bubonic plague. After his pointed non-service, I dropped my credit card, he snatched it and dropped the check. Obviously, I won't be back but I think that was the entire point of his service.
