First time coming to Line dancing class. It was so fun but very crowded by the end. Starts 815pm. It would say 8 but doesn't start til later. The crowd was friendly. People comes in groups so girls night out. Yah! Drinks are pretty cheap here and the staff were are done to earth. They even have a cute bar doggy. He's been greeting all the guest. Definitely recommend coming in for Line Dancing class. It's free. Thursday and Sunday at 8pm. Heard the Sunday isn't as crowded so it's more beginner friendly. DO NOT TRUST THIS BAR!!! It was impossible to navigate, even more impossible to enter, and the bar is poorly decorated! It looked very unkempt and the music wasn't very loud. There was an extreme overflow on Halloween (which is expected) but the way security, bouncers, and workers dealt with it was extremely disrespectful. My friend had to use the bathroom and the asian boy on the right (circled in the picture) took her ID as collateral. When she came back to get her ID, they stated that they gave it to someone else!!! We asked the asian girl on the left (circled in the picture) to speak with the manager and spoke to this blond white lady (not pictured) and she did not offer us any compensation or anything. When speaking with her, she gave no empathy or care to our situation and only offered us a free drink....which is incomparable to what we lost She was not interested in helping us or finding a solution to the issue her bar gave us. I would not trust this bar with anything. They couldn't even make sure they were giving the right ID to the same person. It's understandable that it was crowded which made it chaotic but that does not mean an establishment gets to be irresponsible with other peoples property. I was enjoying my time trying to get to the patio from inside when a woman who I assume to be the owner or mother of the owner grabbed me by the wrist and took the drink I had from my hand and poured it out. She called me 'sneaky' all though no rules were being broken and other people appeared to be doing the same. I had a very bad experience at Jaxson's the other night. My friend and I ordered a drink at the bar and two people approached me trying to take the drink, even resorting to physically holding me when I refused. When I tried to get the attention of someone who works there, no one would listen and I was told to leave. While it's unclear (and unlikely) that anyone from Jaxson's actually had a part in this, by no means did they help in this situation. It was a terrible experience. I was here for the first time with friends. We paid the cover and were in the bar area for about 10 minutes. Then some guy who works there came and grabbed me by my shirt and pushed me all the way outside where he threw me down into the street. I am confused as to why this happened. We were not causing any problems and I had no interactions with anyone working there prior. He also proceeded to follow me around the street while I walked away from the club which was extremely messed up. My arms are scraped, my phone cracked, my clothes ripped, and I have multiple bruises. No concern for cars on the road or how I landed when thrown to the ground. It was disgusting. We didn't know what this place was but after passing it a couple of times that night and persuasion from the doormen, we decided to check it out. For some reason I find myself out here in the Marina with some of my friends who can't seem to get enough. The area itself isn't my first choice of places to go out in SF but I gotta say, it's not like I have a bad time, I just feel like I need a shower after a night out here. But I digress... Jaxon is a one of the few country bars in SF and it's definitely one of the most popular spots to go dance, live like you are back in the college frat house, dancing on a dirty, cramped dance floor with randoms and somehow it's a good time. Yes they play country music, but when they slip in some hip hop and things to dance to, it's a vibe. $10 cover, which is cash only, so make sure you are carrying some cash. The bartenders in my experience have been really nice and make some stiff drinks. I've noticed I get the best service towards the entrance of the bar, immediately to the right where it's furthest away from the dance floor. It's possible to have a convo in this part of the bar. I really appreciate the security here, they do a great job and some of the nicest people at Jaxson's. The bathrooms, no thanks. I'd describe it as the wild wild west where a tornado just happened to run through it. It's a wild mess. Maybe it was just SantaCon but there was trash, toilet paper, and seat covers everywhere. It's one of those things that doesn't get cleaned until the end of the night. Jaxsons will forever be a love/hate place but if you go with a fun group and with a lively crowd, you'll find it here. Hello, I am writing in regards to a situation that occurred on June 29,2024. Your bartender, who I learned goes by the name of Danny, has wrongly taken my boyfriend's drivers license and snapped it in half. The ID is no longer useable. My boyfriend needed that drivers license to fly home tomorrow and will no longer able to because of this inconvenience. This is not to mention that actions that took place after your bartender took the drivers license and snapped it in half, he proceeded to parade and showcase the ID to everyone sitting at the bar and guests who walked in to the establishment. It was cruel and humiliating to have him showcase the ID and point at us as he laughed. After calling the police and waiting for an hour, the bartender came up to us and said he would like to make a "compromise" and return the broken the ID. This is not just destruction of property but makes me consider discrimination. The bartender had no problem accepting every other form of ID that walked into the establishment but had to snap my boyfriend's CA drivers license? Interestingly the establishment already embodies a very American style culture and my boyfriend's last name is Ramirez Lopez. As I type this waiting for the police to show up, the new bouncer who showed up accepted a photo of an ID instead of a physical copy which is ILLEGAL!!!! Luckily I have photo evidence. Another crime to report. So your company has accepted an illegal from of ID but has also destroyed property and is getting away with this!!!!! Expect to hear from me in court. *UPDATE: Cops showed up and we retrieved the broken drivers license. We did fill a report with the police and will be filing a report with the better business bureau as well! read more

Eyeballing the Jaxson photos here on yelp is some sort of sped-up snapshot of life over the past few years. The oldest photos show a rowdy Marina-district bar filled with young adults doing what that demographic does. Then we segue to 2020 and 2021 to find an outdoor space with distanced picnic tables and barrels, socially distanced people, and nobody looking to be having much fun at all. I recently attended a comedy show here (Hella Secret Outdoor Comedy Night) in that outdoor space and came away thinking that the overall 3-star rating Jaxson is sporting is perfectly on point. I'd not be lying if I said that I had a choice of things to review here: * Jaxson itself, the venue that provided the venue, cocktails, and food/ cocktail servers for the event; * Hella Secret Comedy, whose tickets are often promoted on johnnyfuncheap, for different pop-up events throughout the Bay Area; and * Food from any of the 3 pop-up vendors being featured (Tijuana Taquero, Melted Youth, and Empanadas de Calle). FIrst the venue: Jaxson's outdoor space is probably not ideal for watching comedy. The stage is close to the street with a Muni bus stop immediately behind it. The sound system was adequate but the space heater situation was not; it was freezing. Food and cocktail service was friendly but petered out quickly. The first round of drinks arrived as expected but service was MIA by the end of the event when I was wandering around looking for someone to close out my tab. My Hot Toddy tasted mostly like warm lemon juice and I noticed that my friend never said a word (nor did she finish) her virgin daiquiri. With 3 pop-up food vendors on offer, I sampled only from Tijuana Taquero. The Quesadilla ($10; flour tortilla, melted cheese, sour cream) was what I'd have made at age 9. It cried out for some salsa or pico de gallo. Quesabirria Tacos ($14) were a far better choice; greasy and rich, I'd order them again here. The bottom line on Jaxson's, at least at this time, is that they do a perfectly acceptable job of hosting a show. If I again wanted to go out and saw something happening here, the venue wouldn't keep me from attending. I'd likely choose canned beer over cocktails and probably opt to get my dinner elsewhere (though technically, right now, county ordinances require that food is required to be purchased in order to consume alcohol). I applaud Jaxson's for providing a venue to bring people out during this middling time where we're still most comfortable outside and distanced. It was fun even if far from perfect. read more

Love their sunday line dancing class! We did not have high expectations because the class was free and the previous class we had at some another bar was very overwhelming. But we were pleasantly surprised and i actually came out of the bar learning something this sunday! We had so much fun and we plan to go as much as we can on sundays. We went during halloween. I really enjoyed it - everyone there was pretty friendly. We hung out mostly in the indoor area. Some of my friends didn't like the music selection but I enjoyed it. I liked the country selection and the mix of pop here and there We got a bunch of AMFs which got us going. We had plenty of room to dance which was nice. There is also both an indoor and outdoor area which is pretty rad. There was a $5 cover at the door though. read more

I highly recommend this bar! There is plenty of space at the outdoor section and there is a restroom next door that is connect to a mexican restaurant. Also, I give huge props to Al, the bouncer. Wow. Truly awful experience. Went out for a girls night, and left feeling disgusted. The men working at the door were callous and ignorant. We waited in a nonexistent line because they were busy trying to sell kids their confiscated fake ids back to them. Once we were finally let through, the bald African American man shined his flashlight right at our breasts and whistled. We chose to go to Jaxons trying to find a real country bar with a mature crowd, instead all we got was a poor fusion of country and hip hop. Worst experience of my life. The female security working the front today was the only humane individual I encountered that worked at this bar. I had lost my phone and my entire group of friends and instead of being helped, I was kicked out for "pushing people", my reason for pushing? I was panicking alone trying to find my phone so I could contact my friends and get home. I felt so incredibly unsafe at this bar. I like this place but the service is sooooo slow. We got seated at our table and waited for quite some time. We noticed that there weren't any servers walking around so we thought we maybe had to go to the bar to order. We went to the bar and told us someone would come to our table. We waited for sometime and finally ordered some drinks and food. The drinks came out almost immediately which makes me thinks the actual bar wasn't that busy making many drinks. The food took forever to come out. (When it did come out our order was wrong but the food was good.) During this time we wanted to order more drinks but never did or could since we never saw our or any waitress and no one check on us. Long story short if we were checked on we would have ordered more drinks. They also put this new metal roof which makes it very loud and echo. It's really hard to even hear the music or anyone next to you. Some sound absorption padding should really really be added to the ceiling. read more

PSA - overpriced experience. There is a mandatory food order cover fee that WILL end up being an extra $6 per person, as the number of food items you have to order scales with group size. This would not be a problem if the food was good. But they charged us $11.25 for a plain cheese quesadilla (two quarter wedges) with a minimum purchase quantity of two for our group size. I had a lengthy conversation with the server AND Jaxson manager because it seemed unimaginable that they would charge us $22.50 for not good plain cheese quesadilla. But food prices were set by the resident food truck (Cochinita) and Jaxson staff doubled down against an unhappy customer so here I am with no options left except to share my experience on Yelp. Overpriced probably not surprising given the cocktail menu were glorified well drinks priced as cocktails at $14 per 12oz plastic bar cup filled with mostly ice. Bottom line - the food/drink is overpriced. If you're serving up dive bar fare I would expect dive bar prices. As it is, I left feeling ripped off (still tipped the server though). read more

They claimed to be participating in the New Years Eve bar crawl. My girlfriend and I waited 50 minutes in line for them to not accept our wristbands and demanding a $50 cover charge per person even though we had been in line well before 10. We respectfully asked for them to honor the wristbands, and the bouncer told us he hoped he ruined our New Years as well as other expletives which made my girl cry. He said I could talk to the manager. When I asked for the managers number, the bouncer shoved me instead completely unprompted and tried taunting looking for a fight. I let it go as he completely escalated the situation for no reason. Bouncers clearly bullies on a power trip. I HIGHLY recommend avoiding this place at all times but especially during any "events" they claim to be part of. read more
