Do not use these guys for any auto repairs. I was charged 900 dollars to have my air conditioner…read morefixed, and after several different lame excuses as to why they were still going to charge me another 200 to get it working and why it was basically my fault, I stupidly took it on to get my alternator replaced. At this point they could have made good on the previous situation and kept me business, but instead they failed to mention that they had triggered my anti theft system in the radio, rendering it useless. As I have an older Honda the sticker containing the code to reset it was no longer anywhere that I could find, and rather than pay for a new code online after researching ways to get a code to get a code (at this point it was ridiculous) I am now waiting to waste more of my time which apparently has no value compared to their inflated prices. It is not okay to take advantage of people. If you are considering using them, I suggest you go find an honest reasonable mechanic who guarantees their work and won't literally take you for a ride!!!

First snow happened and my college kid got a nail in the all season tires. Grateful to the reddit…read morecommunity for suggesting Wilcox Tire. Good tires and brakes are everything for Ithaca's hills. AAA put the spare tire on. Wilcox patched the tire, put the spare back under the vehicle and put on the Bridgestone Blizzaks Snow tires. They were able to get the tires the next day and get them on the rims and balanced. Total cost was just under $1k, but these are the best tires on the market. Wilcox even gave a 1/2 off tire repair. They put the seasonal tires in the back of the car nicely wrapped in a plastic tire bag and said to come back in Spring to put them back on. Wish they had onsite tire storage, but found a small 5x5 storage locker at Bolt Storage for $20 a month in Newsfield, NY (20 minutes south of Ithaca and 1/2 the price).

I received my wheel in the exact condition in which I left it--didn't even buff out the curb rash, nothing--and the bill was $545. They did mount a $200 tire as I told them too, because the wheel does hold air just fine. I paid it and left-- I wouldn't go back. They wouldn't even mount it for me because "the compressor was shut down."

I brought my vehicle (Mazda CX-5) to Varna Auto because the brake warning light was on and I was…read moreunable to disengage the Electronic Parking Brake (EPB). After diagnosing the car, they told me both rear EPB actuators and calipers needed to be replaced. I approved the repair and paid $1,124. They later called and said the car was fully fixed and ready for pickup. However, when I arrived, the brake warning light was still on and the EPB was still not functioning properly. I immediately informed them. The next day, they re-examined the vehicle and told me the parking brake control module had lost communication and that they could not fix the issue. They referred me to a Mazda dealership for further repairs. In other words, after charging me over $1,100, the original problem remained unresolved. When the vehicle was returned to me, the brake fluid reservoir cap was missing. The reservoir had been temporarily covered with plastic, and I had to return the following day to obtain a replacement cap. This raised serious concerns about the level of care taken during the repair. I spoke directly with the owner, William Chen, who has been very unprofessional and dishonest throughout the process, about my concerns. During our phone conversation, I explained that I was disappointed and did not want to keep parts that did not resolve the issue. He initially stated that he could return the aftermarket parts (though not the OEM actuators). However, after speaking with someone else at the shop, he changed his position and said he would not return the parts or issue a refund. Overall, I paid for a repair that did not fix the problem and was then told to take the car elsewhere. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this shop.
