It seems that a past reviewer is not actually upset at Jaws, rather mad at themselves for not researching what they were buying, and paying too much. You do understand how pawn shops work, don't you? In the immortal words of the Romans: caveat emptor.
This is one of the biggest pawn shops I know of, and I see these establishments as good for one thing: tools. I run a small business, so getting used tools that are going to get beat up anyway for about half price sounds good to me. From bins full of small hand tools and sockets (as little as $0.50-$1.00 each), to name brand battery powered, corded, and air tools, they have a LOT here. In fact, almost the entire basement is dedicated to tools.
My take yesterday: A Husky torque wrench in great shape, and an ENORMOUS 24" bolt cutter in fair/good condition. $55 out the door, or $51.71 plus tax. A little lower than the $60 original combined price. If New, these two items would have cost me at minimum $120... even online.
So I'm happy. The guy was helpful, patient, and bargained with me a little bit on price, since the bolt cutter was the only one in stock, and let's face it, I don't need a 24" bolt cutter... I'm not a thief... and nor is Jaws Pawn. read more
