Great little coffee shop! Love my morning coffee and breakfast sandwich! Has a great atmosphere and service.

I've seen the shop on a regular basis and always heard good things about it, so I decided to order lunch and give them a try. There wasn't much on the menu that spoke to me personally, but people have sung praises about their chicken salad, which is a huge favorite of mine. I called ahead to place an order on a few separate occasions only to be told they were "out" of the chicken salad. At 11am. Weird. I ended up ordering from elsewhere in the interim. Eventually, I needed a last minute lunch option and once again, they were out of the chicken salad, so I settled on a cubano with pasta salad. When I went over to pick it up, I'm not sure if their air conditioning was broken or what, but it was uncomfortably warm inside. I picked up my lunch, paid, and left. Quite disappointed, really. The ham and swiss was decent, but the pork was rather bland and ended up going in the trash. The pasta salad was passable, but it really tasted basic and uninspired. For $9, I wasn't thrilled with the meal at all. I've paid a lot less for a lot better. I'll give them another try down the line if I can ever get the chance to try the ever elusive chicken salad. read more

I really wanted to love this place but the wait was exceptionally long. I don't think I would come back for this reason even though the macchiato was good and the açaí bowl was delicious. We waited nearly an hour for 2 bowls to be made and to be honest it doesn't seem that involved. Place was busy but there were plenty of people working. Not sure what the problem is but hope they can figure it out. Also didn't like how many people were crowded inside waiting for their orders. But there was no real way to understand their methods. read more

I love Java Shack. The staff is always so friendly. They have a way of making simple foods out of this world delicious. It's definitely one of my favorite spots to eat. read more

First visit to Java Shack and it will not be our last!! Friendly servers, the best Iced cappuccinos!! We had the Cobb salad, so plentiful and the grilled chicken on it was moist and so tasty. Also had the special sandwich: grilled chicken with pesto and fresh mozzarella and tomato on a pressed panini! read more

Awesome place , usually a bit of a wait for food , but everything is cooked to order so it's way worth it . If your in a rush call ahead .

6/10/2018 my husband and I went for the Sunday Brunch, we got eggs benedict. For the first time in my life I never knew you could get a poached egg half raw and cold! Plus no Canadian bacon under the egg, just English muffin. Also the home fries were black in color due to the burnt residue from the grill. This was 8:19 a.m. only customers there. read more

Decided to try out Java Shack after hearing good reviews about this place. My boyfriend and I go to the gym next door and decided we were going to try it out. After we were doing working out we got post workout protein shakes from our gym, and proceeded to walk next door and arrived around 3:20pm. We walked inside and we were deciding what to get looking at the menu when the cashier rudely interrupted us and told us we could not have outside drinks in the establishment. My boyfriend asked if it would be ok if we just ordered takeout instead and she insisted that we could not keep our drinks inside... even if we only got takeout. She had to audacity to ask us to put our protein shakes in the car and leave them there while we ordered and waited for our food.. mind you it's a 95 degree humid day. Let's just say we left and will not be returning. read more

I stopped in because my friend's niece works here, I was in the area anyway. Decent reviews on Yelp. So, pretty busy lunch time, ordered @counter, took perhaps 10 min. for lunch to arrive. They make one of the best pasta salads I've ever had. It was my side choice. Sandwich: grilled ham & swiss on sourdough. Pretty good. No coffee, wasn't in mood but water, plain old water...great! Don't know if they use filter, and it seems silly to comment on water but trust me, there's some awful local water around. Servers very pleasant, also cute! Is that a requirement? Ha ha. My only complaint, really, is the same I'd say about anyplace where u place an order @a counter, food delivered but you bus your own table. I hate doing that. But I do. Jackie Mason, an old time comic in the vein of Seinfeld but much earlier, had a great skit about similar places. Around the time self serve types of coffee shops began. In NYC, very funny. Think he was referring to Starbucks but he never used the name. Anyway, not a cheap lunch but average these days. Too bad it's on such a busy street. Trucks, cars, etc. kind of spoil it. The first few times I came to this establishment I enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Unfortunately the last three times I have came here my order was wrong which is very disappointing. Let me explain the three experiences in detail because I am extremely displeased. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich without coleslaw. Once I received this sandwich which I expected it to be quite delicious it was dry, distasteful, AND THEY ADDED COLESLAW WHEN I SAID NOT TO. After this experience I thought to myself should I give this place another try? I will, it was one mistake mistakes happen. Well I went back and got a coffee decaf. Well was it decaf might you ask? No that coffee had a bolt load of caffeine in it which I did not ask for. So after that I decided one last shot this place will have with me. I asked for a classic breakfast sandwich on wheat bread which I made very clear to the girl behind the counter. When I walked out with my sandwich and opened it up at my desk it was wrapped up in this thick pita bread. So with the last three trips I have made there being so horrible you will no longer receive my business nor will I have anything pleasant to say about the Java Shack. I had the best plain, nonfat latte EVER at Java Shack. I honestly couldn't even tell you what made it so good, it was just fantastic. The food is great, too. I've had a few different salads which were cold, fresh, crispy, and delicious. The couple of pastries I've had were also very good. They also have lots of snacks available, like chips, trail mixes, and bars. The service is pretty good. Some of the girls working at the counter seem a little aloof or shy, but for the most part are friendly and helpful. Java Shack is also a nice place to get some work done. I've brought my laptop several times and it's been very pleasant. They have comfy arm chairs as well as tables and chairs, both high tops and low tops. So a nice variety of seating. There's plenty of space and their one long table has outlets right in the table. The music isn't too loud, which I appreciate when I'm working. Overall, this place is great! It's really nice to have a locally owned small business like this to support. read more
