We have been taking afternoon breaks here for several week now. But today 8/18/2025 we witnessed a big big No-No at this coffee shop. We are dog lovers ourselves so we are not against having pets. A couple of girls brought their lap dog in with them and placed the dog on the table. Then when their drink came they gave a drink to the dog. The waiter was aware that the dog was on the table but afraid to tell them to take it off the table. But he did tell the other employees about it so they became aware. Again no one approached the table. The dog was placed on the floor as the girls drank their drinks. But the dog was again placed on the table when they finished their drinks. I did let the employees know that the dog on the table was a health violation. They were not phased. Also another customer came in with his pet in a carrier bag. He placed the bag on the order counter so the employees can view it. What is going on. Needless to say we will find another place to take a break. read more

I come here nearly weekly. They give you a nice plate, cute mug or mason jar, and a metal spoon. Really cute plants with couches and chairs throughout the coffee shop. They bring you your coffee and food and also provide free water if needed. The prices aren't too bad either. The workers are always very friendly and knowledgeable about their product. read more

Came here to do work at 7am and to my surprise the shop was filled with people. Families, people doing work, groups of older people catching up. And pups!! Being here, automatically brightens my mood with the open space, bright lights, and kind people. Try their lavender coffee! Have small snacks like breakfast tacos and pastries. It was busy enough to feel surrounded and have some ambient noise but it didn't feel loud or rushed to be here. All of the staff were kind, welcoming, and genuine. He is a great boss..he leads by example. He pulls coffee, clean counters, clears tables, takes orders, and still manages to connect and visit with the customers; all while smiling. I've been here at different times of the day. I appreciate the vibe that changes as the day progresses; uplifting and perky in the mornings, balanced and energetic mid day, and relaxing and mellow as the day wraps up. Stars for coffee and vibe, I haven't tried their foods or pastries. I spent a week in Houston visiting relatives and found this place on Yelp. I tried their cortado and iced latte, and both were very good. I like my espresso on a sweeter side, without too much dark roasting flavor or sourness. I tried 3 other local coffee shops in the area and in downtown (2 of them also very highly rated), and this one was my favorite. (Although the downtown one had better selection of pastries) The vibe is interesting - not super cool or hip..but very friendly, neighborhood-y so to say. And the customers are very diverse - I loved that there were many families, friends, people all ages, people reading, knitting, etc. Also a friend of mine who lives in League City told me this place has her favorite espresso beans! I visited 4 times during my stay, and sometimes the line/ wait was long, but overall the service is good. read more

Java owl coffee house is a really cute lil place. The service was great, helpful, and attentive. They have your basic Coffee and tea drinks to choose from and pastries (no gluten free options). Liked that they offered MCT oil and butter, not many places offer that in the local area. One of their specialty drinks was the honey owl latte. The drink fell flat and was just plainly not good. Would like it if they offered gluten free options for food, also maybe more specialty/unique drinks to their menu. read more

Awesome new coffeeshop in Nassau Bay! The interior is spacious and offers a variety of seating from chairs and tables to couches. Came in on a Saturday afternoon and it was very busy, but the staff were doing a great job of getting the orders and also bringing out the drinks personally to customers. The owner also stopped by to deliver my drink, and was around making sure that everyone was doing okay. There was a mix of studying students and groups coming in to hang out. Overall, not a bad place to do both. Other small touches included bringing drinks out on coasters, and having both USB and normal wall outlet chargers. Had an iced lavender latte with oat milk, which was very good. I would definitely want to try more of their coffee options in the future, as well as some of the baked goods that seemed very popular with other customers. Walking in I feel at home. Staff is friendly. They have a good variety of teaand coffee and other beverages including wine and beer. This is a place like Cheers, the owner (John) engages with you and makes you feel at home. There is an assortment of games, a piano and a guitar if you are inclined to play. There is a cute outside patio. The staff will bring your drinks to you. They also have little bites lime muffins, cookies, sandwhiches and pastries. This place draws lots of visitors throughout the day and sometimes it can be hard to find a seat at certain times but thats because it is that good. Highly recommend. The coffee is outstanding, but the service is even better. The owner, I wish I knew his name, instantly becomes your friend. It's not at all disingenuous, in fact the opposite. He really wants to see you again and make your experience delightful. The drinks are so reasonable. A latte that I would pay $7 for in CA is $4.50 and it's even better. I went in after a workout expecting to order an iced coffee. I'd never been before, but remembered this cafe from when it was on Upper Bay and decided to go there instead of the mermaid. None of the patrons inside where wearing masks, but part of the staff was. Masks aren't required, but this is just an fyi in case that's something you look for. I told the guy at the counter I wanted iced coffee, preferably something sweet. He suggested a lavender latte. I was surprised to see actual lavender inside the cup. It was a good drink--sweet and refreshing. The espresso wasn't overpowering. My only complaint was that I wanted a large iced coffee and the guy at the counter didn't let me know if there were other sizes available for that drink. read more

Absolutely a great coffee shop! From the moment you walk in there is a relaxed vibe in the air. They have a great selection of crafted espresso drinks as well as a good selection of teas. Very clean yet homely and inviting. Pull out your laptop, grab a board game or book of the shelf, or mingle with your neighbor's dog. Yes that right. If your dog has manners they are welcome inside or out on the patio with plenty of umbrella covered tables. This is the first place I go when I have an ounce of free time. I am a very busy person and need a space to go to get things done in-between activities, this place provides that and more. The atmosphere is so peaceful, with many tables inside and outside, comfortable seating options as well, like couches, and armchairs. There is a piano where people can openly play, and the overall decor and vibe of the place is so uplifting, and I always get things done when I am spending my days there. And not only is the ambiance great the food and beverages are so amazing, but the drinks are unique and well-made and there is something for everyone. While their main focus is their beverages the food also is very good, with sweet and salty options. The service is great too, lots of great, knowledgeful employees always willing to help, and be of service. This is the cutest coffee shop I've ever been to & never knew it existed until a week or so ago! My niece is in town from Philly and we love coffee, so I wanted to take her out after work. We both Yelped shops and she came across this one and I'm so glad she did! The ambience is refreshing and bright. They have cute seating arrangements and even a great patio. Since it was new to us, the guy at the register gave us his suggestions/top customer favorites. We didn't try any of those since we both usually like mocha iced coffee so asked if they could do that. The owner actually brought it out to us, but it was hot, so I told him we requested iced and he was apologetic and returned with them iced. It was really good!
