I ordered Huevos Rancheros (corn tortillas, black beans, sunny-side eggs, salsa ranchera, cheese, cilantro) with a Açaí banana smoothie and they were both SO good! I liked the fact the smoothie wasn't too sweet and that you could decide how you wanted your egg to be cooked on the Huevos rancheros. It was the perfect simple breakfast I was looking for! Java also offers other items I can't wait to try like the Pumpkin caramel frappe and Lavender rosemary latte! If you like Latin food, it's served here as well along with wine and beer! Alright. So it was an interesting experience. Their menu seems phenomenal and super fun right now. They got a good list of over 3 seasonal lattes. And with an interesting combination of flavors which is a huge bonus in my book because it's not basic. They even had different kinds of pastries too. Also a huge point. It's not a normal cafe either they have actual meals instead of a crummy cookie. They have pastas and flat breads it seems. Now to the.. kinda off service? I ordered a guava and cheese croissant. I would've preferred to have enjoyed it with my latte but, it never really came? I kept asking different waitresses, three times as to where it could've been, but I received no real answer? I think the first girl forgot about it as a whole, and the second one forgot about it in whatever oven they used to warm it up and it got burnt by the time I finished my latte. So I wanted a return because I just wanted to head out. It's been about 30 minutes now, but the girl insisted on giving me a new one? Also they were all super quiet don't get me wrong they're nice but, I couldn't hear them at all and maybe there was a miscommunication due to that? I came in at 4:15pm on 11/29. The outdoor seating is confusing because there is no hostess so I tried to ask someone who rudely ignored my question. I asked them to toast it and it came burnt. It is not a croissant it's like a small loaf of bread. You order up front and if you order food, they give you a number and bring it to you. If you order a drink, you have to pick it up. Their lemon pastry was DELICIOUS, I highly recommend it. It was flaky, sweet with a tint of lemon flavor. We also got the ham & cheese omelet with potatos and a salad. The omelet itself was good, however the potatos were pretty bland. We also got blueberry pancakes, they looked really good but ended up being dry. I'm not sure if it was because they were so busy, but this was my first time sitting down to eat. I usually pick up a chai tea latte and pastry then leave. I recommend this place for a quick bite, not sure if I would come again to sit down. Service was great though, staff were very attentive. I love this place and I'm so glad it came to Gaithersburg! The coffee is amazing - I have never gotten any coffee here that was bad. There is also a cute caffe to sit and enjoy the coffee and food. The empanadas are amazing! They do have some outside seating with cute lights in front but most people eat inside. There is not a ton of parking on the street in front but there's a ton of parking within a 5 minute walking distance. They also sell alcohol here which many don't know. It can get pretty busy - so if you are in need for something quick, this is probably not the place for you. Otherwise, I definitely recommend. read more

The only reason is the seating is smaller and limited. The outdoor seating is also not covered - so when it's too hot, it's miserable. The service is good. After a long time coming, Java Nation finally arrived i the Kentlands! We have visited their Bethesda location and loved it there. This Kentlands location has lived up to the hype and wait. It's beautiful inside and kicks my craving for Starbucks to the curb! What I like about this spot and we need more of this in MD is that it's a social house which you can have your coffee, you can work on your laptop, eat, and if you stay long enough you can then hit happy hour and dinner! Great coffee too, the pour over is my go to and the food is really good too. Huevos Rancheros is my dish but I'll try others soon. In the handful of visits, I've been impressed with the service, the ambiance, and the food/drinks. Oh this spot also replaced where the old Starbucks used to be and they made much better use of it!
