Curried Butternut Squash Soup and Café salad
    Rebecca C.

Butternut squash had a good spice to it and a little curry flavor. The chickpeas were crispy, and the soup wasn't heavy on the butter. The cafe salad was a great portion size for two to split and had great quality burrata. The pistachios on the salad were crunchy, and the arugula was fresh. The service was impeccable as always. It's easy to pay for your meal. The waiter comes right away with the tap to pay. Beautiful view from gigantic windows. Quite busy on a Saturday but we were still seated right away.

Post visiting the Glenstone gallery, we sat down for what we thought might be something to drink, but the menu looked interesting. I had the curried butternut squash soup with chickpeas on top -- absolutely delicious! Seriously, I wish had the recipe. My son had the tandoori naan chicken sandwich with chips -- he said it was sooo good! He also had chai which came out with a cute heart on top. My mom had a chocolate chip cookie -- which she really enjoyed. The service was prompt -- we used our phone to order, they brought the food, and then came back to pick up the dishes -- all while seated outside on a cold but lovely setting.

    "Banh mi"

Love the Glenstone, kinda hate the cafe. I've been here twice and both times service was extremely slow. Like 40min for them to serve this god awful cold banh mi, straight from the fridge, is ridiculous. You basically have to order via QR code. The wait staff we encountered weren't friendly or helpful. I felt bad for the elderly patrons who had no idea what they were doing. As for the food, I knew I would regret ordering an American take on Banh mi. The red flags of tofu being the protein and having a gochujang Mayo should've been enough to deter me, but I was starving and obviously not able to make good decisions at the time. Again, the sandwich itself was cold. How are you gonna call this a banh mi without toasting it? At least the chips were good. Coffee at the cafe is decent. I've had no complaints there other than it taking 40min to make...

ice cream parfait + an iced americano

i've attempted to eat at the glenstone cafe twice - once, with success, and another time without. my first visit was to the indoor cafe, and this was a great experience ! there were few other patrons, so i was seated promptly and served quickly. when it's busier, i'm sure that the communal style tables would be off putting, but i was seated quite far from the other diners with a great view of the window. i just wanted a snack for between lunch and dinner, and the chocolate strawberry parfait was just the ticket. it was small, but refreshing when paired with an iced americano. my second visit i braved the outdoor patio area, which is a ways away from the indoor seating. it was during an evening with live music, and despite coming early, there were no seats to be had. however, i was offered a free lawn blanket to use to listen to the music, so even though i was unable to dine, i was glad to still be able to listen from the grounds. i was also offered an essential oil based bug spray that may not have been super effective, but it did smell nice !

Also, their drinks are unique like their ume flavored drink (uniquely salty!) And their refreshers. I absolutely enjoy the vibe of the cafe. It's cozy and has cute decor. Moreover, they play nice music like ghibli instrumentals/soundtracks. There are a couple regular tables and chairs and some chairs and tables set up like a camping area. They also have outdoor seating if you want to enjoy the weather. The staff are always helpful with the many questions I have about their drinks! Chicken katsu on the left and steamed rice on the right with pickled vegetables covered in a brown curry sauce. There is a lot of curry sauce, so you have more than enough for everything in the bowl. It was good to try, but I might stick to something different the next time - all about preference. Ube Latte - I got it iced. After my first sip, I was expecting it to be a little sweet, but it was not at all. However, as I shook my cup a bit more it tasted how I wanted it - that helped. Enjoyed this drink. Even though there is seating both indoors and outdoors, there are not a lot of seats overall. We lucked out as someone was leaving a table right after we ordered.

I did not see it on the menu - so I asked if they had cold brew. They don't make a cold brew - but it was pointed out to me they had cans of cold brew in the refrigerated beverage cooler. Not what I wanted. I was offered iced coffee - which those of you that know - understand there is a vast gulf between iced coffee and cold brew. I ordered a large dark roast coffee - and a breakfast burrito. The menu listed that among the burritos ingredients is cheese - I requested extra cheese in my burrito - as it seems that often I cannot tell there is any cheese in a given burrito. The coffee was somewhat disappointing - rather average - but I guess I should not be surprised by that. The burrito was delivered to my table - wrapped in foil. I asked about hot sauce and the server person brought me 3 bottles to choose from - I selected the Habanero hot sauce. I cut the burrito in half - it looked like it had zero cheese in it - and I certainly could not taste any cheese. The whole thing was rather bland. It needed seasoning. So I added hot sauce and black pepper in an attempt to make it more interesting. I would come back and try some of the other breakfast items in hope of finding something more flavorful. Service was good. Paid with Apple Pay. #KatiesCoffeeHouse

The restaurant is super clean. If I could go back in time, the only thing I would do differently would be to skip the protein smoothie. The description sounded very flavorful and delicious, but the reality was muted and boring. It had chunks of ice in it and tasted more of stevia than of banana, and I could not taste the espresso even a little bit, even though I saw him put it in there. I am wondering if the flavor of the vanilla protein powder took over? I could taste a watered down flavor of almond, vanilla, and something like stevia or monkfruit, but I could not taste banana, coffee, or cacao nibs. There was zero richness for something containing both banana and almond butter. Zero. That said, I will definitely go back again and again and again for their other items. I just will not be ordering the protein smoothie again as I mourn the $13 I spent on it.

It's right in the middle of the mall (like a super-kiosk) with plenty of seating after you order at the counter. I tried their Turkish Coffee...since that's not something I usually can get anywhere else, why not! It was very strong...I mean I like a coffee that can kick my butt so this definitely did the job, especially without any sweetener. (I drink a very strong black coffee every morning and even I had to then add a little sweetener to this one...it was a good experience though!) They've got unique pastry offerings, including savory ones like the Spinach Twist (which is what I had.) So if you're hungry and don't want something sweet, you've got options here, in addition to the sweet pastry offerings.
