Fresh beignets nice and warm. Mocha way too sweet. Plenty of plants to look at. Nothing special in the hospitality department although they did bring the beignets to the table. I feel like I'm at a clinic - not cozy at all, but, clean! read more

If you are looking for a nice place to hang out while on a visit, this is a cool spot and great location close to hotels. Their baristas are very pleasant. Their area is airy and has a good vibe. If you are looking for good and flavorful coffee, I find their coffee weak and bland. read more

Java Man Coffee - Java Latte - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Portland, Oregon

As lovely as the people are, asking THIRTEEN DOLLARS (plus tip) for a bagel, egg, and cheese sandwich and a large Americano is a bit much. Service is great. The ambience is fine, though i don't really care for whatever air freshener scent they opted for, I appreciate the effort. read more

I ordered a Breakfast Sandwich on a Biscuit with Bacon, egg & cheese. The guy working at the register said the biscuit was house made. Unfortunately for me, I took it to go. By the time I opened it I saw it wasn't a biscuit. It was just a plain small bread roll. It was very flavorless and the bacon was soggy - not thick at all and very thin - of cheap quality. I was a little uupset. I love biscuits and I believe they should've told me that they were out of biscuits,. Then I would' have ordered the English muffin. I will not be returning there again. read more

the beignets here are AMAZING!! i specifically came to this coffee shop to see if they sold beignets. i've been craving beignets so bad but couldn't find them anywhere in portland. i decided to try this place because i saw a review mention beignets and i'm so so glad i decided to try my luck and stop by! the beignets were SUPER fluffy and so soft. the powdered sugar was generous and it really satisfied all the cravings i had. they were also affordable as well (3 for $5) and i highly recommend trying them if you've never had beignets! they make them fresh in the mornings on the weekend and stop selling them around 1pm. the man behind the counter was kind enough to make them for me even though i showed up around 3pm. the shop itself was very spacious and cute! i will definitely be back to get more beignets :)) read more

Horrible service. Ordered a basic Carmel macchiato... tasted horrible took one swig and asked them to remake it. Told they do not remake drinks. Then don't make it disgusting the first time! What kind of business establishment doesn't stand by their product and customer service. I will never come back, neither will my daily and friends. Note to the manager: do better!! If something is wrong with the drink replace it..... business 101. Hope you learn your lesson in karma. Hope in a year or two I don't see your business running. read more

Might be fine if you're not a northwesterner but Coffee literally smelled and tasted like dirt Breakfast is microwaved Bacon tasted incredibly weird, like metal? I couldn't finish it. Eggs were edible but also odd. Cute interior but the food was expensive and tasted like something you'd get out of an airport vending machine. Had to go looking for coffee elsewhere. read more

Really enjoyed this spot! Visiting Portland for work from Vegas and happy I found this place. It's super convenient that it opens at 6AM. Aside from the convenience, they were quick to take my order and really fast to get them out. Coffee and breakfast croissant sandwiches were tasty. Flavors and customer service are consistent. Totally recommend! read more

The place is cute and cozy. The coffee was just ok (iced latte). I might have planned to return if it weren't for rude service. Chest tattoo with the rat tail was purely aggro toward me, but was over the top polite to feminine guests. I'm not looking for anyone to kiss my backside, but rather common courtesy. The other workers were sweet as pie to everyone, so thanks you to them (person of Asian descent and the taller white barista). One bad apple ... read more

This place is amazing! I tried all the coffee shops around and regret that I didn't try this earlier. The coffee shop looks modest from outside but inside it's so large and well decorated with a lot of plants. It's right at the corner street so you can ppl watch as well. Perfect for low key dates (though I wasn't on one). Coffee was good and our party of 4 were very happy. Will go back anytime! read more

A short walk from the Bidwell Marriot, where I'm staying. I needed to get schoolwork done so I ordered the Java latte triple shot and their breakfast burrito. I should've left when I ordered a cappuccino and the cashier asked: "what size?" What size cappuccino? Look at the picture and you can see they have no clue how to make one. Cappuccinos don't come in sizes. It wasn't good. I don't recommend this place. read more

I thoroughly enjoy the high ceilings, the sensational coffee, and the friendly people.

Coolest Coffee Shop!! In Portland for work and having a rough day, when I got back to my hotel I found that they had not restocked the coffee in my room which ended up being a blessing because I found this hidden gem just a short walk away and fell in love with this place! The moment I walked in all of my frustrations from the day melted away, the vibe was so wonderful I immediately felt better! The young lady at the counter must have seen me struggling with the tablet at the kiosk and offered to take my order, the staff has such a pleasant attitude I wanted to sit and enjoy the afternoon for a while but had work to do so had to take my leave but I am already looking forward to coming back on my next trip to town in just a few weeks, I will be stopping here first and probably a few times during my trip! Oh yeah, the coffee is outstanding, very smooth and my mocha was incredibly tasty as well! A must visit for all Portland coffee fans for sure! read more

Java Man is a perfect cafe with a perfect location in downtown PDX! The staff was pretty rude, literally had someone roll their eyes at me to my face. Coffee was mediocre.

Best Beignets in town! They were fluffy and very tasty. We had the original powdered sugar and the cinnamon sugar! Sooo good!

Great service, great location with public transportation and parking nearby, and a FABULOUS mocha milkshake.

Good coffee and food. They also open at least an hour before anyone else in the area. Their service was excellent, and the atmosphere was relaxing. I'll eat here again. read more

By far the worst espresso I've had in years. It was thin, bitter, burnt tasting and overly diluted. The Third Wave passed right over this outdated place. It's hard to believe I'm sitting in downtown Portland in 2024. There's so much good coffee in this town, I don't understand how this place can serve such garbage in such a high profile location. The pastry case was filled with sad looking, plastic wrapped store bought (Costco?) muffins and donuts. The interior looked like any other corporate chain coffee shop. The houseplant decor and friendly service were the only upsides to the experience. read more

This place was right down the street from our hotel when we visited Portland for a wedding. We checked it out purely because of proximity, and we ended up coming back every day we were in town. Ambiance is great, drinks and food are good, and the service was quick and friendly. Made sure to grab a bag of coffee before catching my flight home. read more

I absolutely love coffee and I made it a goal of mine to only try local coffees while I was in Portland. I did try 5 different locations and this one was my favorite so I chose to go back on my last day . I went with four of my friends anddddd the barista remembered my order from two days prior !!!!!! That made me feel so good not only was the coffee amazing but so was the service . I also tried 4 different muffins (not by myself of course, but I would have if I could) and every single one was amazing . I had a lemon blueberry that was amazing . The pastries were unique and so worth it . Definitely fell in love with the uniqueness and the amazing flower of the coffee . read more

Love this coffee shop! My friends and I were walking to another coffee shop but they were closing early so we stumbled into this coffee shop. The ambience alone is beautiful! The owner was so friendly. She took care of so many plants in the shop and she sells it to customers too. She answered many of my questions regarding the plants. As for drinks, I got the White Jade and my friends got the White Angel and the cinnamon toast. They're delicious! They were raving about it the moment we left the coffee shop. read more

Coffee is great, but man it's a gorgeous plant shot too! I walked in there to an explosion of well decorated tastefully planted greenery! How refreshing! The nicest mom and pop shop! The lovely lady told me how to water and take care of the plants. She also puts some of these little plants together herself in creative ways. I wanted around 5 of her plants! Sadly, budget only allowed 1 for now! I'll have to come visit next time I'm in town! It's kiddy corner to the Benson Hotel. read more
