Bubble tea review. They charge $5 for bubble tea made from POWDER =/ I think that's ridiculous. I believe bubble tea made from powder should be no more than $3 -$4 max. I wish I lived here so I could be a regular. By the third time I came in, the staff already knew my name and my order. The fourth time I came in, I realized they know a significant number of people coming in during the morning rush, which I found to be really awesome. This is one of those hidden gem Mom n' Pop shops. Super random extensive menu with anything and everything including sandwiches, bagels and bubble tea. Don't expect hand crafted self pickled kind of items. No Milkshake or smoothie from local organic products BUT there are locally baked goods and a great drink selection. You WILL get a friendly smile welcoming you and as a regular they will remember your name. This is a dying breed of establishment that I wish would make a comeback. Yes I want healthy ingredients in my food but you can still find healthy options here if you take the time to look. I also enjoy their random decorating and crazy menu, the dumb founding amount of pastries available any given day and some endearing language barriers and cultural differences that have led to some bad reviews by impatient folks. This place has limitations but it also has charm and folks who care to give you a great start or end to any day. Come in, find something you like and come often. This kind of place will actually appreciate your patronage unlike so many Portland snooty joints who seem to care less if you return and more about what you think of their smoke and mirrors. ( They are not Locals. ) I was told that my younger brother's wife is Crazy about Blueberries. At Java Man Coffee there is a Blueberry Drink. And, there are Bagels,... usually. Say you want a French Bread Sandwich... with Lemongrass... with your Blueberry Drink... it's here at Java Man Coffee. Try the Green Tea Java Freeze... if you require a Green Tea Drink. I regret... that I did Not order the Cappuccino... when I was last at Java Man Coffee. And,.... there is Public Parking nearby.... just Walk. I recommend that you order the Steamer, or the Hot Apple Cider... because both have No Added Sugars. Although, if you prefer to buy your Beans and make your Own Freaking Coffee at Home, or are in need of a Cold Bottled Drink To Go... you are in Luck, usually. The owners are so kind and knew my name and order by the end of the week. I wished I could have took this shop and brought it back to Boston with me! I stumbled in here for a coffee meeting and realized I was hungry, too. The menu is a bit overwhelming, so I asked about any gluten-free options. This being Portland -- not a problem! J-Man, I had high hopes for you. Unfortunately, you felt like more of an airport coffee stop than an actual cafe. You don't have comfy furniture; you don't have wireless; and your workers decided my raspberry mocha was going to be just raspberry. I wandered in in search of a Starbucks alternative close to where I work. In the few times I have been there the drinks have been good but the price is not all that much less than Starbucks.
