Dill Pickle Grilled cheese? I do dig on dill pickled creations...I need to give this a try!
Jon H.

I've heard of Jason's Deli but have never tried it. As we were trying to decide what to eat last night this was tossed out as an option. My friend cleverly and casually mentioned they had a Dill Pickle Grilled Cheese sandwich, so this became our destination....I needed to taste it! I might have a slight addiction for pickles...bean and cheese burritos, and a few other foods (please don't send help). The staff were very cool and super nice. Always a plus in my book. You order at the counter and take your number to your table and your food is brought out to you. The store was clean and huge inside. We got our food rather quickly. I loooved the sandwich! Never thought a dill pickle in a grilled cheese sandwich would taste good but obviously I was excited to be completely wrong. I could have slammed 2 or 3 more. On a scale of 1 to 10, I'll go back, 100%!

Stopped in for a Sunday evening dinner around 7pm. Restaurant was moderately busy. This must have been an off night. Ice tea was out however they quickly made a new pot. Many dirty tables in the dining area. The salad bar was good with the exception of the gingerbread muffins. There were only a couple there and they were old. The chicken pot pie soup was served Luke warm and the pastry of top was hot appealing. Maybe they were short staffed?

Nice open clean, tons of seating inside as well patio seating. Menus are clear and easy to read. Cashier takes order helpful if you can't make up your mind. Love the open salad bar and drinks. I ordered myself salad bar and chicken penne sandwich, sandwich served with potatoe chips. Food was great they bring the hot food out to you, and you help yourself to a wide selection of salad topping and serveral drink options.

Food was tasty with many options available. Sad not to get a pickle with a deli sando but chips were included and they piled the corned beef to the stars !!! Soup was Spicy gumbo and it packed some heat! Lots of okra and sausage with good flavor and s bit of white rice grains. They had a great assortment of beverages and iced teas. A salad bar . The service was great excellent. The ambiance was family friendly and tables were spaced out far enough to give you some space. And for dessert they have free soft serve ice cream ! Yay just like on the big kids cruise ship !!! Great way to end your mess meal ! It was $35 for 2 manager specials smaller sandwich chips, soups and one drink.

Pretty good food. We used to always get Jason's Deli in STL... glad to see they're still around. The soup was good for being kind of sickly this week, and the prices were reasonable.

I was looking for a place to have a late lunch and didn't want to eat anything too heavy. Sandwiches and salads fit the bill! I remembered that Jason's Deli still has a salad bar and I remember that the food was really good as well. There isn't one close to where I live so I decided to make the drive. I was very pleased with service I was given and the quality of the food. The prices aren't as high as and it was very clean and welcoming. Thanks to everyone that works there!! I will be back!

Bro where do they get off charging 12.50 for this joint?

I stepped into this joint and transported back in time - Sunday after church, five years old again with my grandparents, standing at the counter of Giannella's in Paterson, NJ. With the exception of the cashier dude, the staff was...uh..."mezza morto," and definitely in need of some Italian or Italian-American inspiration. A little life. A little rhythm. A smile perhaps. I ordered a chicken cutlet sandwich, add wet mozzarella, hot soppressata, roasted red peppers, oil, and balsamic.. The cutlets were too thick and the mozzarella, although fresh, was strangely tasteless. Apparently this sandwich was infused with gold, crypto, or something because it rang in at $24 with the add-ons. My person had the eggplant parm, which unfortunately was over-seasoned with only a slight trace of mozzarella. The marinara on the side was undefinable. We hit the bakery on the way out. The sfogliatella and cannoli were great, and so were the ladies behind the counter, warm, lively, and actually happy to be there. Look, I'm goin' back to Romanelli's. I'll even pay another $24 for a sandwich. There's a reason this place has been there for decades, and they deserve another shot.

I have to say that it's the best one I've ever had in Arizona, and I've tried many over the past nearly 4 decades. The meat was delish, and it was a good amount. The bread, not a bagel, was larger than typical slices and very good as well. The price was surprisingly reasonable too! The price was nearly the price of a half sandwich that you get elsewhere. The service was great, and when I asked to speak to Sam, she was working the register, hustling to stay on top of all the ordering going on, eager to accommodate everyone. She was truly working to help everyone have a very good experience, and genuinely interested in operating in excellence. She took time to yalk with me and explain their bagel making process, and the quality meats, cheeses and bread she uses. She is all about quality. I'll be back. It's a must try, if you're looking for bagels or excellent corned beef sandwiches. One important note is that they're closed M-W, and only open until 2 the rest of the week. From the moment we walked in, the cook herself greeted us with the kind of warm, genuine smile that makes you forget you're in a public space. By the end of the evening she had invited us to her actual home for cooking lessons--like we'd known her for years instead of minutes. That kind of unscripted hospitality is rarer than a perfect risotto. And the food? Pure deliciousness that matches the heart. Every bite sang with bright, honest Italian flavors--nothing fussy, nothing fake, just layers of garlic, herbs, tomatoes, and cheese that taste like they came straight from someone's nonna's Sunday table. The dishes were so full of soul you could almost hear the wooden spoon scraping the bottom of the pot. It's a small, unassuming spot that somehow manages to feel both intimate and alive. You leave not just full, but genuinely happy, already daydreaming about that next visit (and those promised cooking lessons). If you want Italian food that tastes like love served on a plate, stop searching. You've found it. Five radiant stars. Go. Bring friends. Learn to cook. Repeat.

I love that they change their menu daily, it's handwritten and the details are posted on their Instagram page if you want to take a look before you arrive. Everything is made fresh to order! The day we had gone in, they had a few sandwich and pasta options available to choose from. My husband got the spicy Italian sausage ziti pasta dish and I ordered the chicken parm sandwich. The sandwich came out first; I really liked the marinara sauce on it. It was a bit difficult to eat but exactly what I was expecting and wanting. The pasta took some time to come out, but that was fine. The sauce was like a pesto vodka sauce, very rich & filling, and also tasty. We were both only able to eat half of each dish since they were both large dishes. I believe they only serve pasta dishes on certain days, so if they have them on the menu, definitely consider ordering one of those. They seem to have sandwiches everyday. It's a pretty small place with a few tables & some bar type seating. It gets pretty busy around lunch time, so plan accordingly. We'll be back again to try other items!

I was killing time in Chandler when lunch time approached and getting a sandwich was on my brain…read more Thanks to the Yelp app, I was able to find Retro's Subs & Brews and it seemed like the perfect spot to cure my itch. I was super stoked to check a place with "retro" in the name out, and I gotta be honest here, I left with pretty mixed emotions about a lot of things. The restaurant itself is pretty boring inside, mostly just being black with a few small pictures hanging up. I was kind of expecting big retro movie posters or something hanging around, but I definitely didn't get much of a retro vibe from this place minus a small neon "bar" sign and a claw machine in the corner. The menus were very cool, right by the front door its a record shelf and the records were the menus, so thumbs up for that idea. I thought i was mistaken, but I don't remember seeing sandwich prices on the actual menu, but as I look at other photos on yelp it does appear that the sandwiches don't have prices attached to them, which explains why I was thrown off by the end price. I settled on ordering the "take on me" which was black forest ham, roasted turkey, hickory smoked bacon, cheddar cheese, lettuce, and mayo on a Hawaiian style roll. I also ordered a sprite and a chocolate chip cookie as a side. The chocolate chip cookie was okay, pretty standard cookie though definitely not worth $3.75. The sprite was $2.99, and the sandwich came to $15.58. I was also charged $0.96 for something called the advantage program which I have no idea what that is. I gotta say, spending over $25 on a sandwich, a small cookie, and a drink is not something I would care to do at a place like this. The sandwich itself was very good, I won't deny that. The meat tasted fresh, and when it was all together it was definitely a good sandwich, but when there's not combo option and a basic sandwich, cookie, and drink ends up being $25 it's gonna be a no from me on returning in the future. Overall, I really wanted to love this place for the name, but the lack of much decorations and prices left something to be desired. The food itself was good, but not worth what was spent.
