Wow! I KEPT forgetting to post about this place, but I went 3 times in their first opening week. The food is THAT good and I think it's a perfect addition to the neighborhood. I really wanted to like this place because there are some good things about it. However, the meat portions were quite small, and the meat itself was served cold rather than freshly sliced from the spit, which was disappointing. Another area that needs improvement is the beverage setup. Not having a fountain drink station feels outdated, and getting water from a jar with a shared ice bucket did not leave the best impression from a cleanliness standpoint. That said, the rest of the food and overall experience were fairly decent. If the restaurant increased the meat portions slightly, served the meat hotter and fresher, and upgraded the drink station, I would definitely consider coming back. read more

Our food was delivered to our table in a timely manner. The fries were hot and plentiful. My food was good but not great. I felt like the chicken lacked flavor. Decided to try this restaurant out as we were in the area. Good Mediterranean food with a lot of options. The restaurant was busy, which is always a good sign. My wife and I have been enjoying Mediterranean type foods and decided to give this place a try. It is very bright inside and clean. It is big enough for groups. You order at the counter and sit anywhere you like. We ordered the Arabic style chicken and steak shawarma. The wrap is thin and crispy. The meat is tender and juicy. All the mixed pickled vegetables tasted the same. Their coleslaw did not taste like your typical coleslaw and I did not mind it. The garlic and tahini sauces paired well with both wraps. I also ate my fries with them. For my drink I got one that tasted like cherry and it was too sweet. I will be bringing friends and family over so we can try a variety of dishes. New business alert!!!!! What a totally a vibrant and busy place! It's a good thing when you see the hustle and bustle. Located in beautiful Jefferson Park on the corner of Milwaukee and Foster. They share the lot with Firestone but everyone in that lot was there for them. I had the pleasure meeting one of owners Rawan and she was working helping getting out the many orders. It's that hard work we respect and love. Customer service is phenomenal and top notch. Pricing is affordable without compromising the quality of the food. Food quality is 10 out of 10! My suggestion is to get the dinner combos and portion sizes are huge. Come hungry. As for food suggestions: I would do a chicken breast kabob and steak kabob mix and don't forget the lentil soup. I ordered delivery from Jarasa Kabob, and it was awful. The smell of the chicken on the fries hit me like wet dog food the second I opened the bag. The taste? Somehow even worse -- greasy, bland, and flat-out inedible. Honestly, I wouldn't feed this to my dog, let alone pay for it again. Total waste of money. Save yourself the disappointment. read more

Had been anticipating visiting this place after it popped up in the neighborhood. The meats are made to order meaning it can take awhile for the food to be ready. The service is just really slow, they seemed kind of all over the place and unable to keep up with online and in person orders. The Arabic style chicken shawarma was tasty, I would come back for it again but the lamb kebab was a waste of money. (18 for the entree with sides) It wasn't really seasoned and felt dry. The yellow rice wasn't good, it was a little too plain for my taste. The tahini salad was meh. The spicy hummus was okay. If the service was a bit faster maybe I would consider going back. The food was delicious and fresh. The chicken was juicy, not dry. The rice was fluffy and tasty; I like the flavor of the spicy rice over both rice. The hummus was delicious, too! Which is a big plus.... All the sauces pair very well with each other and the combination on the plate. The falafel was not the best I've had, and I don't like that the pita bread, is store-bought. They give you a sample of lentil soup when you walk in. Lentil soup never seemed appealing yo me, but once I tried it, I couldn't stop raving about how good it was! For our meal, we ordered kufta kabob, spicy chicken kabob, and steak kabob. We also got the baba ghanouj. When the food came out, we saw that the entrees had almonds sprinkled on it - our kids have tree nut allergies and we weren't aware that the dishes would have nuts on it. So we ordered some regular chicken kabobs instead for them and requested no nuts. They also threw in another kabob for us. Aside from this, we loved the kufta, the chicken, and the baba ghanouj! Finally Jeff Park has something new! The food was fresh and the soup sample they gave out was Delish! I know where I'll be getting some soup this winter when I get under the weather. I have been to Jarasa Kabob a few times, this review is long over due. This spot is wonderful the food is great. I have had several items on the menu. The chicken kabobs, mixed grill, chickpea salad, hummus, baba ghanouj, falafel, the yellow rice, the spicy rice (super spicy) and the lentil soup. Everything is fresh the falafel were hot. They have specialty sodas, I had one that was pineapple. Over all a yummy meal! You are able to see the food being cooked behind the counter. The restaurant is super clean and brightly light and has cute lighting. The people are friendly and always ask if we need anything or how was our meal. This last time they brought our food out to us. I really want to like this place but they are very difficult to order from. If I try by phone I get "hold please" and that's it. Phone is down and I hear the activity but they're not coming back. If I order online it's 50/50 ready. They also take quite a long time to make food, which is why I try ordering ahead of time. Last time I was in there the lady put the tin foil and parchment paper down for my order, which got caught in a draft, and blew to the floor. To my surprise, she picked it up off the floor and put it back on the counter. This is after I had ordered online 45 mins ago and had to wait for them to start making my food after I arrived.
