I got my brakes serviced. Just the front pads & rear shoes. I payed a fair price. Less than what another tire shop wanted to charge me. I provided the mechanic, Jesus with the front boots & rear hardware just in case if they were worn out. After he finished the brake job, he gave them back to me & told me the ones on there are still good. He could have easily lied & kept my boots & hardware but he didn't. That shows honesty. No free wifi like other reviews were saying though. everything looks organized & clean. I really appreciate a clean, well organized garage. Story of my life, well on early Tuesday morning, I was coming out of my driveway and did not see the garbage can that my son misplaced on the street. The next thing I know, I saw my passenger side mirror dangling, what a freaking way to start my morning. I managed to find some tape inside my house and kind of fix it till I can call around to see the cost of this passenger side mirror for my 2015 Honda Crv-Ex. I called around to a lot of local Honda dealers and everyone was giving me a $400 and some change, just because it has a camera aka lane assist. When I called my dealer, (Auto nation Honda Miami Lakes) I almost had a heart attack with the cost of the part and labor almost $800. I went on Yelp and came across Japanese Auto Tech. I advised him of the situation with the mirror and their tech (Jesus) told me he will return my call once he has the cost of everything he needed for my car. I immediately got off of work, went home and changed. I received a call from Jesus, pretty much the cost of the mirror and $90 to install it. I told him okay, and while my car is there go ahead and do my oil change because it was long overdue. Jesus gave me a call Wednesday mid-day and advised me the part had arrived. I told him I would be there first thing in the morning. I dropped off my car and within the hour my car was ready, (didn't expect such speedy service) but while doing the oil change he noticed my rear brakes were going bad. (When it rains it pours.) I asked him for the cost and the price seemed somewhat reasonable and instructed to go ahead with the job. He called me back within the hour and advised my car was ready. Now here's the part where I'm a little upset, he is like we have a little situation, the thing with your particular car and newer Honda is that the cameras need reprogramming. We do not have the equipment to do that, but I have a tech who can take care of the situation for you. My nerves got really bad because I didn't want to hear this crazy outrageous price. I'm saying to myself, I could've taken it to the dealer in the first place. Well after talking to the tech, I was able to program my camera and a very reasonable rate. Now, I kept my cost down, and very happy with my end results. I'm really appreciative of Japanese Auto Tech and their service. read more

Please don't go to this workshop. Those people never found the problems in my vehicle. They don't like inspect the vehicle properly. My car was with the head gasket leaking with lot of vibration in engine idle low rpm, they never fix my car because they never knew what is going on. I'm new to the Miami area and have had my 99' Civic serviced 3 times at Japanese Auto Tech over the past 6 months. -First visit: I had a rattling sound for weeks when my car sat idle. It ended up being the catalytic converter shield, which they removed free of charge. I offered to tip for the service because I was so grateful it wasn't something more serious and I was shocked that they did it for free and super fast. -Second visit: The engine was making a super loud (and embarrassing) screech when I accelerated. They ended up replacing and servicing the engine belts-for a very reasonable price and very quick service. -Third visit: Went for a general checkup. Was informed that brake pads and disks will need to be replaced within the next 3-4 months but no immediate repairs were needed. Again they did not charge me anything, but asked that I return when I'm ready for the bigger repair. (Which I certainly will) The other customers I've met while in the waiting room have been going to Japanese Auto Tech for years (which generally is a positive sign with mechanics). I find it logical and refreshing when a business understands giving a fair service and rate for small repairs. I needed to get some major work done on my car, so I did a little research and ended up at this place. I got it in at 8am and they were done by three in the afternoon. The work was well done and the prices were very fair. They use all original parts from the manufacturer and don't seem to cut corners. This is one of those rare businesses where the owner seems to believe in building a reputation of fair and honest business practices. To be perfectly honest, it's refreshing to see. My grandparents have been long time customers of Japanese Auto Tech and when it was time get my husband's Honda Accord serviced for 100k miles and my Honda Civic serviced for 30k, they suggested this place. WOW! I went in on Thursday to just figure out what type of service was needed for my husband's car as well as mine. Jose very thoroughly explained what was needed to me, and was more than patient with me when it was clear I had no clue how many cylinders my engine had. We dropped my husband's car off yesterday morning at 8am, in addition to the 100k mile service ($299, including spark plugs), he wanted the AC charged ($75), since it was not holding up to Miami summer hear. However, it turns out the AC did not charging but rather needed an AC hose replaced and some Freon added...the shop down sold us! They told us forget the $75 service, you just need a $45 hose (parts & labor) instead. It was really refreshing to get honest answers from an car mechanic. Also, the staff members spoke great English, which given the location, is an accomplishment in itself. A word on pricing...for my 2009 Honda Civic Brickell Motors wanted to charge me $490 for the 30k mile service, at Japanese Auto Tech the same service costs $219. Overall: HIGHLY recommended and I am very picky when it comes to the service industry. read more

As a woman, I feel safe and respected when entering the shop! A lot of times mechanic shops will have posters of naked women, and as a woman, it can be a bit awkward...NOT here, you would think you walked into an attorney's office. The office is clean, and instead of seeing calendars with naked women, you see family pictures, refreshing.:) I came in with what I thought were "huge" problems, and it turns out it was a few coils... But, the prices in Acura have become extremely over priced for service/labor/parts. So now I'll take my car to Acura to get an oil change and a prognostics done on my car. They've always been honest with me, are all about quality, and fast. My car was towed to them yesterday at 4:30 pm. I was told the starter would be replaced the next day by noon. At 9:30 am I got a phone call saying the car is ready and recommends not investing much money into the car because it's not worth it- there's too many things to repair. No matter what you do, avoid this place at all cost! I took my Honda Accord 2009 there for an engine problem. The engine light would come on and I had trouble starting the car. Originally they told me they would charge me $500 to fix the problem, but when I showed up they had lowered the price to $350. That was a nice surprise! Things went downhill fro there, I drove the car home only to have the SAME light and SAME engine problem come back within a few minutes of driving. In other words, whatever they DID do on the car (if anything at all) did NOT fix the problem whatsoever. I had to bring it to Brickell Honda to have it fixed in the end. Turns out it was a problem with the battery. Brickell Honda changed the battery and the car's been running smoothly ever since. I called Japanese Auto Tech to tell them that the work they did on the car didn't solve anything, but they dismissed anything I had to say. So basically I got scammed out of $350 by Japanese Auto Tech. Do they not realize that people will leave bad reviews on Yelp if they get bad service?? Not only did I receive bad service, I pretty much got scammed, i.e. I paid for a "service" which did not fix my car. read more

The main mechanic at this shop was courteous and began inspecting my car almost immediately after I dropped off my civic. I had some major oil leaks throughout the engine and he called me within a couple of hours to explain what he found and what kinds of repairs he beleived were necessary. Standard service from most mechanics but he actually worked on my car right away and had it ready a couple of hours later and even waitied for me to arrive at his usual closing time to pick it up. He was very courteous, even took the time to show me the parts he changed in the engine and how to clean up the rest of the mess from the oil leaking. Most importantly, the work he did was just what the car needed and I haven't seen any more oil spots on my garage floor. Definitely a hardworking mechanic running a family owned shop. Easy to talk to, fair on the prices (I had compared with 2 other mechanics including the dealer), and has earned a returning customer. I easily recommend Japanese Auto Tech. read more

They were always honest about the work that needed to be done, about anything we could do to save money and any bargains they could get on parts.
