    Whoopie Pie Sundae
    Matthew V.

A common place for our "New England Riders" to meet up for good food and ice cream. I've visited many times over the years and keep coming back for more :) The parking is a little interesting when a dozen or so of us on bikes show up, but there's plenty of street parking also. Tonight they had live music playing which is always fun. The food doesn't take long considering how busy they get. Fried calamari was really good tonight. The BBQ burger was cooked perfectly and stacked high with onion rings. Messy in a good way :) At least 4 of us in the group got the whoopie pie sundae tonight and it was really good. I really like whoopie pies, particularly Wicked Whoopie pies. These ones were great! Recently repaved the parking lot is easy to navigate for motorcycles. Thanks for the years of good food and ice cream and entertainment.

Lobster roll with the macaroni salad

Such a great little spot, tucked away off of the main road. The day I went, they had a live band, shaded tables and just good energy from the crowd all around. Prices seem very fair to me for the portions I received. I'm all about supporting local, small business...especially when the food is good! I ordered the lobster roll, plenty of delicious meat on it! The clam fritters were a bit overcooked and really chewy. Onion rings were very good and their banana splits, just like I remembered as a child!

    A small!

Good food. One girl rolled her eyes after giving our ice cream and acted super annoyed at our presence. Everyone else was nice though.

Usually a pretty decent meal is had from here. It gives you "drive-in" vibes. The icecream is pretty good too.

Crystal Springs brings a consistency of food quality, time, and care that has kept the restaurant in good hands in the last decades. Walk in and walk beside the bar, noting the diner is cash only, and into the two booth sections near the back so that your waitstaff can have easy access to take your order. The diner, near the back, updates specials and has a few consistent winners that keep recurring. The wall opposite your entry has a wall with a blown up photographed depiction of the town of Ware from the air many decades ago. One of the pluses of this all-day breakfast diner is that they also are a dairy bar, serving ice cream and milkshakes specifically. Expect Crystal Springs to be busy with locals and other out of town travelers at the corner of the plaza strip they're located at. They're near a busy entrance and exit way, and there's parking near enough to that ingress to be mindful of. Thank you for many meals, Crystal Springs, and I hope I find great photos I took of your diner one day to fit a review for a staff as reliable at 5am as you'd want in a diner.

Been coming here for years and I'm happy to say the experience is still pretty much the same. Great…read moreviews, an actual working farm, and you can still buy fresh raw milk and beef cuts inside. One change since my last visit is that you now order the ice cream outside instead of inside. The line was long but it moved surprisingly fast. I do wish they offered samples and this time they were missing some of the more unique flavors that I like to try. Kiddo and Wifey got the Orange Pineapple, and they both loved it. The best part was that it wasn't overly sweet. It was light, fruity, refreshing, and the pineapple pieces throughout gave it great texture. My mom got half raspberry and half pineapple from the non dairy sorbet options and really enjoyed both. I went with the Black Raspberry Chip and it was so good. This is that old-school ice cream I grew up with. If you've had it before, you know exactly what I mean. That said, after trying another place just three minutes away, I do think that other ice cream is creamier. I personally prefer a creamier texture, while my wife likes a firmer scoop, so it really comes down to preference. One thing to know before ordering: when they say "one scoop" they really mean one scoop. Don't expect an oversized serving. There are chickens and cows roaming around the farm, which adds to the experience. The animals looked happy, and while seating is limited, there are both indoor and outdoor places to sit and enjoy your ice cream. Overall, this is still a great stop and one I've enjoyed for years. This place is well worth visiting for the farm atmosphere, beautiful views, and classic homemade ice cream.

Flayvors of Cook Farm is a farm-based ice cream shop that combines homemade ice cream with a…read morerelaxed countryside setting. We walked up to a spot where the experience feels different from a typical ice cream stop because you are surrounded by farmland, open views, and even the cows that contribute to the farm's products. The environment is just as much a part of the visit as the dessert itself, with picnic tables scattered across the grass and a view of the fields stretching out beyond the parking area. The biggest highlight for us was the ice cream itself. The texture is creamy and rich without feeling overly heavy, and there is a good balance between classic flavors and more unique seasonal options. We tried a few of the creative flavors and found them to be what makes the shop stand out, with choices that you would not normally find at a standard ice cream shop. The more unusual options were interesting to sample, while the traditional flavors were still strong enough to keep coming back for. The portions were generous, and the quality of the ice cream felt consistent across the different scoops we ordered. The farm setting adds another layer to the experience. Sitting outside and enjoying ice cream while looking out over the fields makes it feel more like a destination rather than just grabbing dessert. We noticed families settling in at the picnic tables, kids running around the grass, and a general sense of calm that you do not get at a typical scoop shop. It is also a nice spot for families since there is more to see than just the ice cream counter, with the farm animals and open space giving the visit a fuller feel. The main thing to consider is that it can get busy, especially during warmer weather and peak dessert hours. The lines move at a reasonable pace, but the popularity means it may take longer during the busiest times. Parking and seating can also become more limited when the farm is crowded, so arriving earlier or visiting on a weekday can make the experience smoother. Flayvors of Cook Farm is one of those places where the location, atmosphere, and food all work together. The ice cream is the main reason to visit, but the farm setting makes the experience feel more memorable than a regular dessert stop. It is the kind of place that fits naturally into a warm afternoon outing, offering a treat that feels rooted in its surroundings.

We were actually going to head back after we roamed around the downtown for a bit to pick up some to take home when we turned a corner and found this second location. What luck! It was ice cream fate at work. The shop is lovely. There's a gift shop section (also at the sister location but we didn't go in on that visit) with really nice, quality home made gifts and other baubles. We ended up picking up a bear playing hockey who we named Zook 'Five for Fighting' Bear and he's a treasure. Great price too. We chatted with the woman behind the counter and found out her husband creates all the ice cream flavors. He's a genius! We got a small cheesecake key lime pie in a cup to go and ate it within probably five minutes. We were pigs, I admit it. We almost went back but behaved.
