Hello, I don't like leaving a bad review due to me being a…read morecustomer of Stan Parente Maple Valley Salon for a few years. I had to switch to a new hairstylist to get an appointment in and decided on Jessilyn due to her being a senior stylist. I made an appointment a week in advance. Everything was going well till the person at the front desk came to the back where I was at the sinks getting rinsed and said there was a person that needed to get their hair styled and could Jessilyn do it. With no regard to me and my in-progress appointment she agreed. From there on I was delegated to the helpers in the salon to finish what was needed at the sinks. Jessilyn then rushed over cut my hair quickly in an obvious rush to get to the other client and then delegated the helper to blow dry my hair. It was obvious the poor helper did not know what she was doing. I ended up with a flat head of hair with no body. Jessilyn who was next to me cutting the other person's hair, did not even check to see how my hair turned out and if there needed to be any additional trimming made to my hair. When I went to pay, I mentioned what happened to the front desk person, and she got very rude and asked me to pay and leave. At that point I was very disappointed and not happy with the treatment of a long-time customer and left. I know they want to make money and fit in as many customers as possible but, if there is a customer in the middle of getting a haircut and color, they should not shortchange them just to make more money and fit someone else in. Especially with the amount I was paying for the service due to Jessilyn being a senior stylist. Thank you, Nancy Williams

I had my first Curly Specialty Haircut with Nikki, and the entire experience exceeded my…read moreexpectations. From the moment we started our consultation, Nikki understood exactly what I was looking for. I wanted to retain as much length as possible while cleaning up my split ends, adding more lift to my curls, and incorporating some soft face framing. She immediately had a vision and went to work. It was genuinely beautiful to watch her artfully shape my curls--carefully snipping here, refining there--and throughout the appointment our conversation flowed naturally. We discovered several shared interests, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Nikki's apprentice (I wish I could remember her name!) did the shampoo and conditioning service, and it was incredible. The shampoo is always my favorite part of any salon visit, but this one was next level. The scalp massage was relaxing, the pressure was perfect, and I walked away feeling like stress I didn't even realize I was carrying had melted away. During styling, Nikki introduced me to a curl-defining brush and took the time to show me how to use it correctly. I already owned one but had been using it wrong. She explained everything clearly and made sure I understood the technique. The true test of a great curly haircut is what happens after you leave the salon. The next day, I was able to style my hair exactly the way Nikki had shown me, and my curls looked fantastic. To me, that's the sign of an exceptional stylist--not only a beautiful haircut, but one that's easy to recreate at home. If you have curly hair and are looking for someone who truly understands curls, listens to what you want, and delivers beautiful, wearable results, I highly recommend Nikki at The Loft Salon

Her name was consistently brought up. Okay, fine. I knew she was funny so at least I could get to know her a bit. She put me at ease as I was afraid to do a curly cut (not all stylists are good at them, or understand them). She disarmed me and listened, and seemed to understand every point and fear I presented. Needless to say, I was thrilled to not have life turned upside down from a silly haircut, which it could have been! () She was fantastic both in her experience/talent as a stylist and also as someone to work with and has enough experience that you can't really throw her from her focus. I am looking forward to another visit and to enjoy not just a haircut but also some laughs because of her fantastic personality (charming, funny)! For the record, I've consistently heard solid recommendations for the salon. I've not heard a weak comment in my 20 years of living in this community. And now I get to book hair mastery services with Nikki, too!

She has over 20 years of experience - sometimes this is a wonderful thing, but sometimes you find that a hairstylist with that many years of experience gets kind of "stale" with their skills. Not in this case! I like to wear a cute little mid-2000s Ginnifer Goodwin style pixi cut and she ROCKED it. She totally got what I was going for with a quick little consultation. I don't have a ton of hair and she was THOROUGH anyway. Sometimes when you have fine hair you get a few kind of cursory swipes and she was meticulous. I honestly wish I had never gone to Studio H Salon…read more In October 2025, I trusted Mariah, a senior stylist, with my first-ever hair color experience. My hair was completely virgin. I had never dyed, highlighted, or bleached it before, and that is exactly why I was so careful. I showed her a clear inspiration photo, asked if the look could be achieved, and trusted her when she told me it could. The result was not even close. The back of my hair stayed extremely dark while warm/golden pieces were added, especially around the front. It was completely different from the soft, blended dimensional brunette I had dreamed of. What frustrates me the most is that this appointment did not just disappoint me for a few days. More than 10 months later, I am STILL dealing with it. Permanent color was put on my virgin hair, and now I keep going to consultations hoping someone can finally FIX my hair and give me the hair I originally wanted, only to be told that my previous color makes everything much more difficult. Some stylists have even declined to work on my hair and told me I may need to wait for more of it to grow out. I had a consultation before the appointment and was never told that the result would require multiple sessions. Only after I was unhappy was I told that what I wanted could not realistically be achieved in one session. If I had known that beforehand, I would never have agreed to permanently color my virgin hair. The salon refunded $322 of the $362 charge after I raised my concerns, and I appreciate that, but a refund cannot give me my virgin hair back. There genuinely has not been a day that I haven't regretted this appointment. Hair might seem like "just hair" to some people, but for me this has been something I have had to look at and live with every single day for almost a year. I walked into that salon excited for my first color experience, and I left with something I am still trying to fix today. I wish more than anything that I had never done it.

However, after my last appointment, a checkout error resulted in my service charges being applied to another client's credit card. When the salon discovered the issue a week later, they contacted me repeatedly over the course of a single day. I was traveling at the time and unaware of their messages until about 36 hours after the first voicemail was left. By that point, the salon was already escalating the situation and threatening collections if they did not hear from me by the following day. I found this response disproportionately aggressive, especially considering the fault wasn't mine, and I was an established customer with a history in good standing Mistakes happen, what matters is how a business handles them. Studio H's approach made me feel distrusted, unsafe and unvalued as a customer, and for that reason I will not be returning.
