Lunch break while driving my son back to school. Overall, very nice experience. Food was delicious and Jen provided service with a smile. Coffee was hot and fresh. i've been here a few times and my conclusion is that the food is... average. now that's not totally a bad thing, you can definitely come here and get a good meal for a low price, but they don't really go above and beyond typical diner food. breakfast- i'll start with what i always judge diners on- pancakes. first off, let me warn you, a full stack of 3 pancakes is a LOT of food here. don't do it, just go for 2 and some sides. these pancakes were nice and fluffy. a lot places serve pancakes that are kind of on the tougher side, meaning they probably over worked the batter, but not this place, they had a good texture. unfortunately, all 3 of my pancakes were different. the one on top was good, but the one on the bottom was definitely over done and they tried to hide it down there, and it definitely took away from the flavor of the other ones. the home fries and scrambled eggs were both pretty good, and the bacon was average. as for the toast, well it's toast. who cares? it could have been a little more crisp but whatever. lunch- another thing i always judge a diner on is the burger and fries. i liked the fries here, but the burger, not so much. they didn't ask how i wanted it cooked, so i was assuming i was getting a small fast food sized burger patty, but that wasn't the case, it was a thick burger that was well done and on the dry side. it came with a toasted sesame seed bun that was alright, but i don't think i'll be ordering this again. i've also had the hot pork sandwich with mashed potatoes. i didn't care too much for the potatoes, but i've definitely had worse. the gravy was good, but the meat was typical diner meat, sliced thin and not moist. desserts- they have an assortment of pies, cheesecakes, and regular cakes, but they always vary so ask your waitress what they have. if you sit at the counter you can see the pie case, a few of them you can tell are prepackaged, but a few look like they were made in house. one of those was the chocolate peanut butter pie, which is what i decided to try and i'm glad i did. you can tell they used a pre-made graham cracker crust, but as for the rest of it, it was great, it tasted just like the one my grandmother used to make, a pie that i haven't had in at least 10 years. as for ambiance and service, i liked how it looked inside. very bright and it had a nice inviting feel to it. i've never had bad service here either, the waitresses have been good and attentive and not afraid to joke around with you a bit. also, don't sit at the counter top if you don't wanna get yer chops busted by the regulars haha. all in all, Jane's is a nice diner to go to if you're in the area, but is it worth going out of the way for? probably not in my opinion, but still enjoyable. read more

I love this little diner I used to go all the time with my grandparents when I was younger. The waffles are to die for. The omelets aren't the best around but there still pretty good. You get alot on your plate for really cheap prices. It's always packed so I would recommend getting there early read more

Jane's Diner is solid. I've enjoyed everything I've eaten there. I highly recommend the Chicken Souvlaki Platter, which I think is a hidden gem on the menu. The service is very good and the food is very good. If you're looking for top shelf ambiance or gourmet-quality fare, then you may not want to choose Jane's. If you want really good food, priced right, with fast & friendly service, then this is the place for you. It can get busy, so don't be surprised if you encounter a line waiting to be seated during peak times. Oh! And a word about Jane...she's a wonderful Greek lady who is simply delightful. On a road trip to the East coast from Minnesota and stopped in for dinner. It's a very simple little diner with a wide variety of options. We had a large group and ordered lasagna, steak, alfredo, beef tips and noodles, hot beefs, turkey dinner and chicken strips. Everything was absolutely delicious! I have been going here with my grandparents my entire life. The food is predictable. Her menu doesn't change often. It isn't , wow this is so amazing. But she knows her customers. She is greek and has made delicious greek dishes and no one buys them . This area is not known for its amazing ethnic food. Most people just want diner food. Haven't been there in a few years. The food was always hot, delicious, nice portion sized and reasonably priced. Moved away from that area and kinda forgot about it because it isn't convenient. Great diner! The portions were a good size, the price is just right and coffee isn't charged if you order before 11:30! We were serviced promptly with a very happy and genial server. The coffee was better than the average diner coffee. The eggs and the home-fries were delicious! I usually judge a diner based on how they make their coffee, eggs and home-fries.
