I have been taking my suits to Jamison's for years. In the past, I was happy with the service. Suddenly, in 2024-25, they started pressing the roll out of the lapels and creasing them instead. These are Hugo Boss suits and not cheap. They had never had their lapels pressed until Jamison's started. I notified the owner and for a moment, the lapels were rolled properly...but then it happened again. I was infuriated beyond words. Now I feel I can't trust them to care for my suits anymore. Maybe I am naive, but I would think the automatic default practice for dry cleaners would be to roll the lapels, instead of pressing them. The pressed lapels look inelegant and cheap. Furthermore, the pressing leaves an imprint on the underlying fabric. Not cool at all. I used to live less than a mile from Jamison's. I moved 12 miles away, but continued to go there out of loyalty and because it was near my workplace. I am afraid, however, I need to start looking for another dry cleaning service that is more convenient and who won't press my lapels. read more

Horrible experience, so I get 3 shirts and 2 pants PRESSED. When I went there I made it very very very clear I don't want creases in my pants. I get the pants back and I can NOT BELIEVE they're creased. I literally got so frustrated because i literally made it clear. So then I explained the issue and she tried to take the pants in the back to iron the crease out and it did NOT help. There was still a line and there was no hope. She asked me "I can do them again it will take a few days" WHAT! It's Christmas weekend and I don't have time to leave them again. She asked "what can I do" I said you can refund my money just for the pants. She said "I can't I have to pay workers and it takes time" lol truly what kind of business is this! Right away I knew! I made a major mistake coming here. Absolutely insane. BE smart. There are dozens of dry cleaners in the city. Do NOT choose this spot or take a big risk. DO NOT BRING ANYTHING HERE THAT NEEDS SEWING!!! So I brought my wedding dress in for help and this is the job she does. She completely ruined it. It's unwearable and my weddings in less then a month. I under stand that the job was difficult but I really wish that if she couldn't do it she would have just told me, so I could take it some where else. I was literally crying in front of her and all she said was that it was really hard to sew. If she would have told me a month ago that she couldn't do it, I would have had enough time to take some where else. Paid $298 for my dry cleaning to only receive my items shrunk, zippers broken, and smelling horribly! Got my items back, not only had my favorite faux fur been shrunk, the zipper was broken on another one of my jackets when I know for a FACT it was not broken when I took it in. I returned to tell the lady at the front desk about the zipper and she proceeded to tell me that she could fix it for $15, like if I was really about to pay for something that was broken while in their procession?! Telling me it was from wear and tear when I just got the jacket! Not to mention another one of the larger furs I had taken in there did not smell like it had been. Been coming here for about 3 years and she used to do a good job. Don't know what happened but on the last 4 occasions I doubt my clothes were dry cleaned since they still looked dirty. I actually took some pants and found stains that where there before weren't cleaned. So I washed them myself and was able to get them out. I think all she did was press them. I thought long and hard about how to review this establishment. I gave them two stars but was a little conflicted; allow me to elaborate. I found this cleaners/laundry service about a year ago. I started taking primarily my shirts there because they had a special pricing and why pay more then you have to? They for the most part did a fine job; the shirts were always ready on time and looked good. The reason for the two starts is because of an incident that occurred and how it was handled. About three months ago one of my shirts had some weird stain over the cuffs, collar and front pocket. It looked like some cleaning solvent issue. I pointed it out to the owner and to their credit they got the stain out (whatever it was). Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago, one of my shirts had a similar stain. This time it was on the cuffs, collar and on the front and back of the shirt. Add to that this was a new shirt and none of the others had this staining issue. It took a couple of tries for the establishment to get this weird stain out, but they did. Now to be fair I checked if there was ANYTHING I was doing that could have caused this. It's not possible. The good news is it only occurred to one shirt and not the rest of the bunch. It appeared that there was something that occurred in the processing of the shirt (cleaning, solvent etc.) that caused it. My issue is not that the shirt had some weird stain (stuff happens.) My issue is how the owner handled it. The first time it occurred I was looked at like, "what did you do?" The second time this occurred (a few months later) a similar response. After the owner cleaned the shirt appropriately, she informed me that she could no longer accept my business. Her reasoning is that she could not make money off my shirts?! All of the exchanges were civil. There was no shouting and if an establishment does not want my business of course I will never darken their doors again. However, the issue here is that it appears that this establishment will opt not to do business with a customer because of their inability to control their processes (or contractors who actually process their shirts.) I close with how I began. I brought my shirts to the establishment for about one year. During that time this staining incident only occurred twice. They did a fine job. If I am right about an intermittent problem with their processing then it may happen again...to your shirt or blouse...it will be interesting to see if you too are given the boot. Off the bat walking in it smelled like food and dinge, the lady in the front was very rude but decided to leave my jacket anyway. I got it back and it didnt feel like she even touched it. I had 3 silk clothes - dress, blouse and jacket dry cleaned in this place months ago. Since I had my silk blouse jacket dry cleaned I never checked and haven't had chance to wear it until today. I just found my jacket is destroyed by paying money to dry clean . Also my other dark blue silk shirt got white stain on it. I live right next to Jamison's Dry Cleaner & Laundry and also right next to Rosie's Tailoring. I read good reviews about Rosie's, so I decided to go there first. After having two pairs of my brand new Citizen's of Humanity jeans ruined, I started going to Jamison's. It is SOOO MUCH BETTER. The hems were PERFECT and both sides were even. When I got my jeans back from Rosie's, the stitching was coming off and crooked! I could even see where she went over the same stitching twice to fix it. I highly recommend Jamison's. The lady who is always there is extremely friendly and is good at what she does. Hemming pants also doesn't take as long at Jamison's. read more

I sent one of my shirts for regular cleaning on 12/19/2018 and the owner charged $2.50 for it. When my husband helped to pick it up today 12/27/2018, the owner charged him $5.00 for dry cleaning and saying the woman's shirt is too small to fit in her machine and it has to be dry cleaned. This is so ridiculous. And she made her own decision without even informing me. When I tried to have her on the phone discussing the issue, she said she is too busy to talk about it. My new favorite dry cleaners! I needed a dress cleaned for an event the next day. Other cleaners either couldn't get it done that fast or weren't open early enough for me to stop by before work. Jamison's had great service from the moment I walked in. I was greeted with a big smile, and the attendant took the time to look over the dress carefully. She warned me that the glued-on rhinestones might possibly come off, since dry cleaning solvent can dissolve glue. I was aware of this, but I appreciated the warning; it shows that they prioritize customer satisfaction. When I picked up the dress the next morning, none of the stones had come off! I was bringing clothes to this place for dry cleaning for a few years. Stopped going there because a shirt was ironed with deep creases in various places. I asked the woman if she could correct the problem and she said the machine makes the creases and if you put the shirt on you wouldn't notice the creases. I took a pair of jeans in to have the waist taken in. She (wish I got her name!) fitted them on me and told me when they would be ready. When I came back she had me try them on again and the fit was amazing. You can't tell they were altered. There was a fair amount of work involved and she only charged me $15.
