Once we chose the unit, his team came out and did a great job! I believe it was Oscar (my apologies if that's not correct) and his team. The did new cuts and installed the unit in 2 days! Experience was amazing. Sal came out for the free inspection and was super communicative and helpful. Answered all my questions and more. The job included removal of all old insulation in attic, removal of asbestos insulation around AC Ducting, removal of all old ducting and registers, and a full sanitation and attic-sealing. Replaced with new ducting and high-flow registers, new batt insulation throughout. About half the property has high ceilings, so I know the team had a tough time up there along with the 90-degree weather we had. We also added in a whole-house fan, which has been a godsend (Seriously, get it if you can). Sal and the team went above and beyond during the process. While servicing the AC unit, the team made the call to replace the aging water pump (maybe 20 years old at this point) for free, along with a handful of adjustments to the indoor unit, including a 5-inch filter replacement instead of the normal 1-inch filters, which resulted in incredibly improved airflow without having to mess with the fan unit at all. Overall? I don't have to worry about asbestos anymore, I don't hear rodents in the attic anymore. During these past few months with our usual hot days here in So-Cal, the new insulation, ducting and more all held up very well, and our household could tell the night-and-day difference between pre-service and post-service. Temps were much more stable and the AC is not on 100% of the time during early-afternoon. Sal went further to check and service the exterior AC unit, checking and replacing the capacitor with a voltage-normalizing one to reduce spiky power-usage, along with a wash and flush of the full system. There were a few mishaps, resulting in a few repairs that needed to be scheduled after the completion of the job, as some parts of the drywall gave way during the service. Jamison team scheduled a team to come out and patch all of the issues, and repainted at no cost, so I can't be happier with the service. Original timeline quoted was around 2 weeks, however it took closer to 4 weeks to complete the full job along with the drywall repairs. This was due to a multitude of reasons and coordinating multiple teams, including availability of insulation, so double-check with the team if insulation is in your scope, and account for some extra time just in case. Not the lowest-cost provider of services in this area, but I recommend this team if it fits your budget and considerations, as their work ethic and professionalism is top-tier. Big shout-out to the team, Sal, Jorge, the asbestos abatement team, patch team, and everybody else involved. I was told multiple times during the job that I would get a call or communication from Ryan the owner, but that never happened. I chalk it up to just normal stuff since Sal was always communicative. Updated review on a new project. Years ago, Ryan and the Jamison team set us up with a sweet Trane slim line heat pump system. It has been great and reliable. Every 9 months or so, a Jamison tech visits, checks the units, swaps out the filter I provide, and ensures everything stays within warranty and runs smoothly. Back then, I gave a 5-star review, and if I could add 5 more stars, I would. Recently, we needed attic insulation. I requested an estimate, and Alex came out within a couple of days. It was straightforward dealing. He took the necessary measurements and set me up with a few proposals. If you are looking for cheap, low-cost, low-quality options, that's not Jamison. The project took two days. The crew was very mindful of our home, and the house now maintains a steady temperature without the system running for long intervals. The project included a radiant barrier, insulation, an attic fan, and a whole house fan. If you have a project, invest in a relationship, not just a sale. Jamison has you covered. read more

He discovered asbestos in attic and said they can have a company come remove it. Sal coordinated with the owner and came up with an awesome quote which included upgrade in installation R8 and two free years of maintenance. I was able to finance and nothing down at a really reasonable APR. Sal and his crew ( Marcos and Oscar) completed the job the same day and were very clean and thorough. They called me regarding an A/C service special. I agreed, and they came out. Everything going okay so far. They offered to replace the air filter with a HEPA filter for $120. I agreed to that. They also noticed our UV light was out and quoted to replace it and relocate it to a better spot. I agreed to the price, and they said they would come out Monday to finish the work as they didn't have the correct UV bulb in stock. New tech called Monday after being late for the appointment and said the part is discontinued and I'd have to replace the UV light unit. He said the cost would be around 5-600 dollars roughly. Mind you, my unit is only 4 years old. So I tell him to send me a quote to my email so I can look it over. Quote didn't make any sense and had multiple items each over 1k. Finally managed to find the UV light unit on the quote but it was over double the price of what he told me over the phone. Tried calling in but kept getting no one. Never heard back from them. I got a voice-mail today stating I owed over $500 for replacing an air scrubber that was never done nor discussed, and for a cleaning service plus air filter change. I tried calling back multiple times, and still have not gotten a hold of anyone. To top it off, now my A/C unit is not blowing out cold air anymore. Our original unit (25 yrs) went out about nine months ago. We had Jamison install a whole-house (2-story) Daikin Mini Split system. The installation went fast, just a couple of days. The crew was professional and friendly, and cleaned up at the end of the work day. As time went by, I had questions, and each time I called, I got positive responses and friendly, patient responses (help). They sent out service techs several times to check the unit and confirm its working condition. Our AC broke. they installed a new AC but also diagnosed that our furnace placed in the a garage was not attached to the ducts. there was this drywall box under the furnace in the garage and that was its air intake. They moved the furnace to the attic and attached it to the duct as it was not before. They installed a light in the attic making it easy to access. They are efficient, honest and reasonable. He walked me through what the issues were and showed me in detail how the control board and transformer were bad. He also proceeded to walk me through multiple options including repair vs replace on a very old AC unit and was very transparent about costs and benefits of replacing vs repair. Max also did not pressure me to replace or repair immediately like most sales reps would do. Great experience with Jamison! My upstairs AC unit conked out midday on a Wednesday and started blowing lukewarm air. Called Jamison Wednesday around 5pm and they were able to come out the following day between 8-10am. My technician was Arturo, who was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. Ok, so AC stops working suddenly and you have rental guests coming in 4 hours and you live in So Cal where the temps can get really hot. It's a Friday afternoon and you need help, good help. Without even looking at my AC unit, immediately was recommended to replace the entire thing. Tech did not listen to my requests. He went to his van and quoted the highest price possible to repair my unit: $4,200.00. Including an item that was not damaged. I went with a competitor that only charged me $350.00 and had it working in no time. No add on charges. Very disappointed in Jamison service. How is it possible to go from $4,200.00 to $350.00?! I was able to get someone over to my place asap to diagnose my ac unit. They were honest (and business wise) and offered a new unit but I went the route of just refill of freon. So far it's cold and amazing. So my AC blows cold again, for about $200 which isn't too bad, I got it refilled. read more

I had them out after another HVAC company fleeced me to have freon added to my newish mini-split system. $800 later - that wasn't the problem and was still blowing hot. So I tried Jamison and after a thorough deep cleaning of my unit and three registers - it's been working perfectly for a year now. Please don't go to those other "bros" and call Jamison. read more

*** $68 A/C Cleaning Nearly Cost Us $1,562 *** Used Jamison's Heating & Cooling (Jamison AC & Furnace Repair) for a $68 A/C cleaning and tune-up (never got the evaluation report or air flow analysis advertised on their website) for our A/C system which was working fine and made no unusual noises. Did not need this service, but they left a flyer at my door and it seemed a "nice to have" luxury with baby at home and temps in the 90's. On 7/18/23, on the first phone call with the owner, Ryan, he lied that the owner was a different Ryan. Even now, never understood why he did this. On 7/19/23, their technician, Arturio "Art", left an overshoe (shoe cover) insulating and choking the blower motor. Unclear if due to incompetence or if intentional. Thank goodness I checked inside the furnace myself. Motor screeched loudly all afternoon until Art came back to remove the overshoe. The blower motor then buzzed very noticeably for 5 days and then died on 7/24/23. On 7/25/23, Art quoted $897 to replace the blower motor ($800 for a motor that costs $178.55 from their supplier + $97 labor). Given what happened with the original service, Ryan agreed to replace it at no charge and refund my original $68 (he reneged and never gave this refund). While doing the replacement, he snapped the head off the bolt in the collet of the blower wheel, and never told me. Anyways, the new motor wouldn't turn on. Art wired the motor all wrong (wrong High and Med-Low circuits, and reversed rotation), refusing my pleas to double-check and wire it according to the chart on the box it came in. Unclear if due to incompetence or if intentional. Instead, he poked around the furnace's transformer (which was actually outputting voltage) and relays with a multimeter, and said they needed replacement for $597. With this diagnosis, Art and Ryan tried to blame me for having to replace the blower motor unnecessarily. Conveniently, my original motor couldn't just be put back because Art cut the wire leads too short (and the blower wheel was now stuck on the new motor because he sheared off the collet's bolt, which he hid from me). After negotiating and with my family now being in a hot and desperate position, Ryan said he would have technician Joseph "Joe" come the next day between noon-2pm and replace the transformer/relays for $305. Joe never showed up or even called during that time window on 7/26/23. With my baby suffering in the heat (again in the 90's) and desperate, I reconnected the blower motor wire leads according to the manufacturer's instructions, and the blower motor began working immediately (and still working fine as I write this review). Thank goodness I opened up the furnace and fixed what Art had messed up. Art had misdiagnosed that my transformer/relays needed replacement, and he wired the new motor (needed because the overshoe was left on my original motor) completely wrong. Unclear if due to incompetence or if intentional. I wrote to Ryan describing my experience with his company, the technicians, the mistakes that were made. and that the average homeowner would have ended up spending over $1,500 on what was supposed to be a $68 clean/tune. If Joe was on-time, even I would be cheated out of the negotiated-down $305 for them to replace my working transformer/relays, on top of the $80 I paid/tipped for the initial clean/tune. Not to mention that when my original blower motor got killed off and the A/C kept running, my A/C condenser/compressor/lines could be damaged, which would cost thousands to replace. Guess this is how Ryan and Jamison is "Taking Care of People... one step at a time" and being better than "big corporate company's sales processes and agendas." Instead of apologies, explanations, or even just lip-service (polite excuses), Ryan responded with personal attacks and finger-pointing. Real classy. So much for Ryan and Jamison being "Your Friendly Neighborhood HVAC Pros." Wouldn't be surprised if Ryan or his staff respond to this review with more of the same toxicity (as they did to another Yelp reviewer). read more

This is the only review you'll need for Jamison. I used them twice. Once was for a minisplit system for our ADU, which went perfectly. Reasonably priced, precision work on the install, fast, and well priced. But that's expected. The second time was a HUGE job. When I rebuilt our home, our old contractor did an awful job with installing ducting and put in the wrong furnace and AC unit. I bid out the job to three contractors and Jamison came back fair priced and reasonable. With my prior experience with them, I knew I would go with them. The install went great. High grade ducts, full teams of crews working hard to get in ahead of schedule. But here's where Jamison really shined. I had 3 different AC units that were faulty from the manufacturer ( a reputable one at that). These were freak accidents and I don't blame Jamison at all. When the AC units were faulty, they sent their owner Ryan to come and work it (or did Ryan send...himself?). Ryan spent hours in my attic, outside with each AC Unit, and was a clear expert. This isn't some guy who just owns a company and lets his guys work. He is working right alongside them (and by the way, treats them very well. He works hard and they work hard for him clearly). When it comes to integrity, these guys are second to NONE. They keep their word, deliver amazing work, and do it at a fair price. You cannot go wrong going with Jamison. read more

My AC wasn't blowing cold air. I called Jamison and Sal told me My condenser coil was fried (outside unit). Sal is very knowledgeable and explained very clearly on the cause. A combo of not replacing filters enough and cheap parts in outside unit. It was worse case scenario. It was a better option for me to replace the whole outside unit and get the 10 year warranty. I scheduled my first appointment and they no showed. When l called they said they forgot to put me on the schedule. We rescheduled and they came and performed their job well. The second time l called for service they no showed again. When l called they said they forgot to tell me the serviceman was out. They assured me they would call me first thing Monday morning and confirm my Monday evening appointment. No call Monday and nobody ever showed up. I had a non-functioning thermostat after a whole-house power surge that burned out a number of other things. An electrician who replaced a circuit breaker said the AC issue might simply be a fuse in the low-voltage supply inside the AC unit, that low-voltage needed to drive the thermostat. Jamison tech Dan arrived and quickly determined a transformer in the AC unit was bad, and replaced it. But that didn't solve the entire problem so he installed the thermostat I'd purchased as a direct replacement for the possibly bad one. That did solve it; I guess both actions were needed. I kept the old transformer and thermostat to show to my city public utilities outfit in case they want to quibble over the numerous things that went south the day they replaced a power pole outside. read more
