In long It's one of the only public-facing businesses in this row of warehouses and offices. They have a small space where they crank out an impressive array of gins, plus aquavit and limoncello. The tasting room has a bit of bar and highboy seating, and there's a table next to the rollup door in the production space. After too many years without a visit, we rolled in on a sunny July afternoon for a few cocktails. Their Insta photos just made the special libations for this month sound all too irresistible. The setup is virtually unchanged since my first review years ago. They just have more cocktails on the menu, and more different special-release stuff to taste. We tried gins flavored with black truffles, coffee, and other cool accents. The taster flight is easily worth it, and we mixed in 4 different cocktails over the course of the session. They have a bartender now, rather than doing it all themselves all the time. There was a steady flow of other customers while we sat, including young families--it's kid-friendly!

I am somewhat of a gin snob, this gin is so deliciously smooth you can drink it neat which I find to be rare for most gins. Everything we tried we loved and purchased. All liquors are bottled by hand. Their bourbon whiskey "The Dark Door" is a rare commodity. It's bottled once a year and always sells out at pre-sale. It's that good! They have a vodka "Stark Vatten" which translates to strong water. The keys to a great vodka are odorless, tasteless and colorless. Stark Vatten has all of those qualities to make a great vodka. Last but certainly not least, their gin "Kur" pronounced cure, is in a league of its own and has won many awards. It won awards in 2015,16 and 17 at San Francisco's World Spirits Competition. I recommend anyone to check out Wildwood Spirits, I'm certainly going back for more Dark Door, Stark Vatten and Kur.

Basics of this business is that they distill Amaros, Curacao, Falernum and vermouths along with some other really interesting spirits (like douglas fir infused liquor). They get a lot of their recipe ideas for Amaros and vermouths by working directly with bartenders who give them ideas about what they would like to have in order to blend even better and more unique cocktails. They obviously listen well and do their research because what they make is incredibly good. Mac, our host and the distiller, is a fascinating guy with great stories and contagious enthusiasm for his craft. The stories behind each blend, including the trial and error, is incredibly entertaining and informative. For my wife, who has begun to experiment with making Amaros and loves to barrel age classic cocktails, this was an incredible education that helped her fill in a lot of blanks about what she needed to do to have better results. And Mac gave her great ideas and leads on where to find the best quality ingredients and how to use them in the blending process. Some of the outside area was covered for those days when you want to be outside at a fire table but the weather disagrees. This room has a fancier decor and is 21 plus if you want to be away from those with children. I guess Glory Bucha Kombucha is also being brewed on site. They were out of the blackberry pale beer when we visited, but plenty of other tasty options on tap. Sounds like they also have a connection with a winery and a cider company. The Basic IPA was a little too malty, as was the Huger Heffer (hefeweizen). The Hazy IPA was solid, lots of citrus and tropical fruit aromas and flavors. The bartender happily jumped right in to change one of the huge flatscreens over to the Mariner game. (We even won!). It was slow for the first hour or two I was there. The barn doors were open and you could see a couple kids and dogs running around. Turf on the deck outside, some open grass, cornhole, axe-throwing. Lots of fun low-tech stuff happening. A two-piece cover band came in after a while and started playing. Dad jokes galore. Good vibe, they clearly pulled in tons of people who wanted to check them out. Everybody's having fun. I didn't try the cocktails, and all I can say about the food truck is that they were super friendly and the food smelled incredible. This is a good-enough hangout for one person and would clearly be great for a group, even a big group. Fun day in the valley. I'll say that is all accessible, and the washrooms are gender-neutral. They're accessible, too, though there are no grab bars and the toilets are *really* low to the ground. Plenty of room to move around in there, though.
