a glass and bottle of red wine

Came in for a quick after-work treat and ended up staying for an hour and a half. As soon as my friend and I walked in, one of the owners greeted us and explained how the process worked (we had never been in before). The whole experience was fantastic--from the wine collection to the charcuterie board. We loved being treated like family/long-time friends and will definitely be back!

I have been stopping by this wine bar since shortly after its opening. The new owners (took over in June of this year) are Candis and Tom and they both have winning personalities and great wine sense. Candis has brought in more wine and greater breadth of wine prices to satisfy all palates. My wife and I often stop by on Friday nights after work or on Saturdays during the day for a glass and snack (try the baked brie, with raspberry chipotle sauce). The new owners greet you warmly and always have time for a friendly chat, unless it is super busy - which can happen on Thursday tasting night :-), and a recommendation on new wines or new gifts in the shop. I highly recommend stopping in, having a glass or bottle, and enjoying the wonderful, fun atmosphere - and if you are coming in on Thursday or Friday nights, be prepared for lots of folks enjoying themselves... BTW: Candis/Tom just brought in a new LCD screen for those of you who absolutely can't live without viewing 'the game' (go Sounders!). There is also free wireless Internet for the techie winos out there.... And a note to a recent reviewer on the price of a glass: "...7 dollars is offered for 6 at Trader Joe's this week..."... ummmm, have you checked prices at restaurants and other wine bars or was this a sticking point with you? Obviously, Wine bars and restaurants offer a wonderful environment to sit and enjoy your wine and snack and other folks around you. All of the wines are more expensive than in a store and, when you break it down, slightly more expensive by the glass. My recommendation is to go into the wine shop, buy a bottle and sit and enjoy that by the glass (if you don't want to finish the bottle, the owners will re-cork it and bag it and you can then carry hit home with you).

Don't let the little unassuming restaurant tucked away in a strip mall fool you. The food , service, and ambience is what you'd expect to get from restaurant in a much more upscale area. We started out with drinks, a bright refreshing glass of Riesling for me and an old fashioned for my hubby. For starts, I tried the poblano corn chowder and we also shared the boar and beef meatball small plate. Both were absolutely delicious and were devoured. For entrees I had the wild boar bolognese and my husband had the lemon thyme chicken. The portions, especially the pasta, were generous and the dishes were really well composed. It was an excellent meal with excellent service. I look forward to coming back again.

Our server was kind, funny, and very helpful. And even the chef came by a few times to check on us and our food! Overall, a wonderful experience and we already have plans to return.

I'm a huge wine person, but wasn't in a wine mood, so didn't get any, however, they had a lot of incredible wines to pick from. Our server was super sweet and attentive. We shared the mushroom melt and green salad. Both were so delicious. The salad was filled with tasty and fresh goodies. The sauce was really yummy. I love that our sandwich came with brown butter popcorn. The space is really cozy. They have shelves of wine, bar seating, and normal tables around. There isn't a bathroom in the space, but they have a key for a bathroom within stores it's attached to. There was street parking out front. I recommend checking this spot out for food and wine.

I'm here to review the food, which is great and unlike other menus in the neighborhood. Here, you will find "bar food" elevated so high it could hold its own among fine dining. My mom and shared a few plates: the Vinbero club, the spring pea risotto, and the kale Caesar salad. Everything was delicious. The club is packed with thinly sliced chicken breast, crunchy bacon, and fresh tomatoes, greens, and avocado. The contrast between the bite from the aioli on the inside of the sandwich and the sweet tartness of the balsamic drizzle on the outside was fun and unexpected. The kale caesar was very fresh with a great dressing. But for me the star was hands down the pea risotto. Perfectly creamy, vibrant green, and packed with fresh spring flavor. It appears they change up their risotto offering every so often, and it's gone now, but I will dream of that one until it appears again. Our server (maybe the owner?) thoughtfully split our sandwich onto two plates (hence why the photo only shows one half) and added the side of popcorn to both plates. A nice touch. The inside is a little small and dark though well-appointed. Their mini patio outside is crowded and uncomfortable. But they're doing their best with what the space they have. And truly the food is a standout in the area.

Despite it being a busy holiday evening, we were seated immediately. The vibe was lively but comfortable, with most tables and the bar filled. Since we visited in February, we leaned heavily into their specials menu. We skipped the small plates and went straight for the mains: the Greek Salad with Steak, the Steak and Gorgonzola Flatbread, and the Vine Burger. Every dish was a hit, though my wife found the red wine vinaigrette on the salad to be just "okay" rather than great. For drinks, we stuck to the mocktails. We tried all three on the menu, and the Blueberry Mule (ginger beer based) was the undisputed winner. We'll have to come back for the cocktails another time since they looked promising! We capped the night with the Apple Blossom pastry with vanilla ice cream--it is a total "must-try." Overall, the service was courteous, the ambiance was spot-on, and parking was a breeze. We'll definitely be back!

The soup of the day was fantastic. A sausage, potato and kale soup. Warm, comforting and delicious! The salad was somewhat disappointing. I ordered the quinoa kale salad, with a citrus vinaigrette. There was a little quinoa and kale on top of a large amount of romaine. Not what I expected. It was also served stuffed into a small, tall sided bowl with the dressing on the side. How exactly are you supposed to dress it and eat it? My friend had the burger and fries. The burger was half the size of the bun. She literally removed 50% of the bun. It was also extremely well done. The fries were cold. They don't have decaf coffee, but I was able to order mint tea. It was brought in a cup that smelled like old coffee. The table had been cleared and I had no napkin and he didn't bring one with the tea. There was a slice of lemon I didn't want and I had no place to put it. There is potential here, I hope they pay more attention to providing a quality experience and food.
