Great wines with a very welcoming atmosphere. Acoustic musicians play regularly. See Ed for some of the best wines to try.

The staff was extremely attentive and kind we had the pleasure of being helped by Eric, who was amazing! He explained everything, answered all of our questions, and even shared his favorite dishes. I ordered the Rigatoni Bolognese, and it was both flavorful and filling. They also have a spicy in-house oil that I had to try perfect if you're looking for just a hint of heat. My fiancé ordered the Spaghetti Carbonara. He said it was rich in flavor, though a little too eggy for his personal taste. We will definitely be back there were several other dishes that caught our eye and are next on our list!

We started with the Pappardelle Al Ragu Di Cinghiale, which was quite tasty, though the pasta felt a smidge on the drier side. Unfortunately, the Osso Buco ($75) missed the mark immensely. The veal was overdone and notably fatty, and the saffron risotto was very dry; it desperately needed a sauce to pull the components together. At that price point, I expected a much more refined execution. It's a lovely place to sit and the staff are wonderful, but the main courses didn't live up to the premium cost. Edit: I'm surprised by this response. I took the time to highlight what your team does well--the service and the atmosphere were truly lovely. My feedback on the Osso Buco was meant to be constructive, especially given the high price point. It's disappointing that instead of addressing a kitchen consistency issue, the suggestion is simply to eat elsewhere. I'll certainly take that advice.

I had an excellent experience at the PGB Winery. My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this place thanks…read moreto Yelp. I have nothing but good things to say about both the service and the wine. For starters, everyone there was very friendly. It felt like a family inviting us to share their delicious wine. The wine kept coming with the tasting, and the company was just as great. I personally think the atmosphere of a place helps to define their repuation, and this place is probably one of the best places I have been since moving to the West Coast. Second, the wine. Every single wine we tried was absolutely delicious. It was very hard to only choose 2 bottles to take home with us. We did a red wine flight where we were able to choose 6 out of about ~10 reds to try. Don't worry, they have whites as well, we just were in a red mood. Every wine we tried was very good. How anyone could have rated this bad, I don't know. The wine was great, and everyone we encountered knew their stuff, which was nice never having WA wine before. There was cheese/salami/crackers served with the wine, which I didn't touch very much because I was so focused on the wine, but it was nice that they had something to go along with while you drink. Honestly, the wine may speak volumes for itself, but the people made it that much better. They welcomed us and made our first experience exploring Everett and the WA wine world even better than we had expected. We will be back here, no questions about that! A precious gem in the heart of Everett!

Thank you for the hospitality!!! Wine is great, appreciate the ambiance, music and friends!read more

I did have a glass of wine for $9 (hh) but decided to eat elsewhere. Will not return again. ------------ Grumpy's food truck now inhabits a couple outdoor parking spots permanently. Grape & Grain now also serve simple plates such as sandwiches, flatbreads and salads. Happy Hour is offered Mon-Fri from 11:00-4:00pm on wine and beer. Grumpy orders can either be given to the servers or placed at the truck window. Grumpy orders are paid directly to Grumpy's while G&G orders are payed for at the counter. Tuesday's are Open Mic Night from 5:30pm-8:30pm. During this visit, my girlfriend and I shared a bottle of Guardian Chalk line to sip on while visiting and enjoying open mic. We shared a Caprese Salad for $15. We shared the Cali Veg Sandwich for $15. I ordered a to-go Carnita's Plate for $14 from Grumpy's to take home to my wife. Seats are limited and on our visit (Tuesday) several people were unable to find a seat. It was loud during our visit so it was hard to hear one another during our visit. Service was friendly and on the slow side. Thank you G&G for a nice evening. I look forward to returning in the future.

We had a MARVELOUS experience!…read more My bf, his mom and myself passed by this place on a couple of walks. I've also marked it as a place to visit. It is part of the Staybridge Suite hotels here and this hotel in general, is always packed! We finally know why! The hotel inside is beautiful -- woodwork and a cozy ambience! The 5 x 5 bar & bistro is new. What it was before was an old theater. Matthew was a one-man show with two ladies helping him with carrying the done orders to the tables. It was actually quiet on a Wednesday when we had went. Only 3 tables occupied. We missed happy hour and settled on the regular menu. I had the chicken tenders (4-pc) with lemon pepper seasoning (oh my -- this was delicious!) along with sweet potato waffle fries. I also got the hummus plate -- fresh veggies and the hummus had feta cheese and olive oil too, yummy! My bf had the pepperoni pizza with cheddar cheese and topped with green onions. I had a taste of it and it was pretty good! My bf's mom had the fish burger with a side salad. Matthew was so kind and made a mental note of the orders. He even remembered my bf's mom saying 'no cheese' and he doubled checked with her after looking at the fish burger. Real nice guy and his service with the ladies was warm and delightful! They're forming an events room hall that will be done soon that used to be a pool area (so yes, no swimming pool anymore). They also have a nice patio area with long chairs and a nice mini bar/grills in the middle. I also had a limoncello cooler and my bf's mom has red wine too. We'd come back again!

In short Great deals on great drinks, food is really solid,…read moreand the setting is nice and friendly. Only drawback is that the hours are limited. In long Lately we've been seeking out places that are literally quieter--less volume on the music, more space between the tables, and so on. I'd been wanting to check out 5x5, anyway, since it's the only spot around with an exactly perfect rating score. It looked like it'd fit the bill for a low-key place, and off we went. We came in shortly after they opened on a Saturday (4:00 PM). You're in a larger business-traveler hotel here, aimed at Boeing and Boeing-sub folks traveling for work. The building looks kinda generic from outside, but there's plenty of parking, and the lobby has a high-ceilinged atrium vibe for sure. Nice floor tiles, nice carpet, tasteful furniture. Everything's in perfect shape. You don't feel the lounge vibe right away, but there's a gigantic fireplace ahead of you, warming both sides of the room from the middle. Around that, there are lots of sturdy, shiny tables under the lofty ceilings. Off to the side, there's a little lounge area, then another one. Everything in the lounge is bar-height seating, and there are a few flatscreens, probably showing the game. Most folks are in here, sitting around the bar in the middle of the room. We posted up at a table just outside the lounge. Lindsey was behind the bar, and cheerfully answered every single question we had about food and all their cocktails. She's super friendly and makes a great drink for sure. She seems to have a bunch of regulars who aren't staying at the hotel, which is a great sign, no doubt. We checked out the warm pretzel--such a decadent treat. The waffle fries (and especially the aioli that came with them) were awesome. The pizza was a great choice; we added pickled onions to the Speedway. The crust could be a little crisper but we took home what we didn't finish and it's great here, too. Service on food and drinks was really quick. The cocktails here can be really creative, and there are lots of classics with house twists on the recipe. They even have a pisco sour they've tweaked--that's a fair bit of work for a bartender to make mid-shift. We got 5 great drinks and 3 nice plates of food for $96, and I don't think we even ordered anything from the HH menu. This is a very easy place to add to the rotation.

The poor server was solo and slammed, but she did get some help partway through. They've got a good selection of beer on tap, but I thought the cocktails were overpriced--nothing really stood out. I'd rather spend $16 on a craft cocktail at Colby Club. The food wasn't great. We got the calamari and it was bad--cold and honestly just bland. We also ordered the beer-battered halibut. It was okay, but a bit overcooked, and it came with fries... maybe 25 total for a 3-piece fish plate. Our bill was around $65 for two beers (with the $2 off Thursday special), the calamari, and the 3-piece halibut. Just overpriced for what it was. The place itself is cute, and they had acoustic music going, which was nice. The staff was friendly and really hustling with how busy it was. Overall, though, I didn't feel like it was worth it and probably wouldn't go back. I wish we could do .5 stars. I struggled between 2 & 3. I ended with 3 for the venue, live music (she was really good) and the awesome staff.

The location is excellent for a spot to walk outside while waiting or after eating. The food here on the other hand was not great. I think the fusion flavors did not meet my pallet one bit. I was lost in all the sauce and wonder of what was trying to be accomplished. The sauce for my spicy wontons tasted like its been sitting in cornstarch and flavor for a bit, and the clams I had was a confusing flavor. The walnut shrimp wraps were just okay and pork shumai was the only decent thing I had there. I would not come here for food again, but they have their location and setting on point. The service was just okay. Our waiter was nice, but I felt as if they were rushing us. We were there for about an hr and I felt a little bit rushed. They close at 11pm and at the time it was 9:45. Would i come again? Probably not, I love the location but there are so many other places nearby to try in the future. I would love this place to suit my pallet, it just does not. 3 stars are just for the atmosphere alone.
