We saw this place on yelp and thought it would be a great spot to find locally brewed spirits. When we entered we were greeted by Rob and Dylan. They were super friendly and Dylan did a great job at explaining the different spirits and what they have to offer. We decided to each do the 4 glass tasting for $15 and with 8 tastings total we got to taste most of what they had to offer. My boyfriend loved everything he tasted! I'm not really a big fan of darker liquors but I really loved the Harvest Gin and Eagle Harbor Brandy, I had to bring a bottle of each home to share. We drove to Bainbridge so it was super easy to get there and there was lots of parking available. Overall an amazing experience with great conversation and definitely will be visiting again.

Getting there, the drive was really simple and the surroundings beautiful. The distillery itself is tucked away in the back near some other garages. There is parking near there but it is limited. We chose to sit outside because it was such a beautiful day. The service there was great because the individual behind the bar was very attentive, asked us questions about what we liked, and gave recommendations based on our answers. We wanted to start off with the flight, which was a great option because it helped us really decide on the drinks we wanted to try out that were recommended to us. In the end we got two drinks each and walked away with a bottle of brandy and gin. Safe to say that we enjoyed what we tasted. It took me forever to figure out where this might be located, but now I know its in an industrial area near Paine Field. Lots of parking out front and super easy to find if you use a maps app. It's not a huge place, but plenty of room for a small group. You can do a tasting or have a cocktail. You can also buy spirits to go. There is a huge variety here, whiskey, scotch, gin, etc. For 10$ you can do a tasting that includes 8 tastes. There are a variety of interesting things to try. They have a cart they bring out to pour from. You can ask tons of questions and read about all the tasting notes of whatever you try. Everything was delicious. On my next visit I will certainly try a cocktail. Do check it out if you have never been, it is worth a special trip.

My friends and I were having a wine tasting day in the Maltby area, and decided to check out JP as our last stop. J.P. Trodden Distilling is a small-batch distillery, featuring bourbon whiskeys. The distillery is small, but has enough room for tastings and hanging out. I did the tasting flight, which included three bourbons, one whiskey and a maple syrup! All of the tastings were fantastic, and for anyone who likes dark liquors, JP is a spot to try. I ended up taking home a bottle of the single cask bourbon, but everything is great here. Staff was friendly and accommodating and it should be noted that there were free Seattle Chocolate truffles here! The organic vodka tastes like unfiltered Ozark Moonshine. Perhaps this is the natural taste of…read moreorganic, but it is a totally unrelenting vodka taste that I will not soon forget. There is a reason why most vodkas are multiple times filtered and that is to get rid of this awful taste. They will not win any competitions with this approach. I am truly sorry, because I lived on Bainbridge Island for many years and I know the effort and enthusiasm of these distillers are sincere and honest, but truth be told this vodka sticks, literally.
