We had a tasting of their delicious whiskey and liquors. All of them were outstanding: raspberry, blackberry regular and with orange peel and loganberry. Service is amazing, of course it's a small place so owners and the makers of the stuff are serving you as well. After the tasting, we proceeded to have cocktails in their back patio which also has live music 2-4 pm on weekends. We actually came back for the live music and listened to lovely singer in their patio while sipping cocktails. And of course I had to bring home some of the liquors as they were too good to leave them there. Definitely a must do while on Whidbey island.

Getting there, the drive was really simple and the surroundings beautiful. The distillery itself is tucked away in the back near some other garages. There is parking near there but it is limited. We chose to sit outside because it was such a beautiful day. The service there was great because the individual behind the bar was very attentive, asked us questions about what we liked, and gave recommendations based on our answers. We wanted to start off with the flight, which was a great option because it helped us really decide on the drinks we wanted to try out that were recommended to us. In the end we got two drinks each and walked away with a bottle of brandy and gin. Safe to say that we enjoyed what we tasted. We saw this place on yelp and thought it would be a great spot to find locally brewed spirits. When we entered we were greeted by Rob and Dylan. They were super friendly and Dylan did a great job at explaining the different spirits and what they have to offer. We decided to each do the 4 glass tasting for $15 and with 8 tastings total we got to taste most of what they had to offer. My boyfriend loved everything he tasted! I'm not really a big fan of darker liquors but I really loved the Harvest Gin and Eagle Harbor Brandy, I had to bring a bottle of each home to share. We drove to Bainbridge so it was super easy to get there and there was lots of parking available. Overall an amazing experience with great conversation and definitely will be visiting again.

It took me forever to figure out where this might be located, but now I know its in an industrial area near Paine Field. Lots of parking out front and super easy to find if you use a maps app. It's not a huge place, but plenty of room for a small group. You can do a tasting or have a cocktail. You can also buy spirits to go. There is a huge variety here, whiskey, scotch, gin, etc. For 10$ you can do a tasting that includes 8 tastes. There are a variety of interesting things to try. They have a cart they bring out to pour from. You can ask tons of questions and read about all the tasting notes of whatever you try. Everything was delicious. On my next visit I will certainly try a cocktail. Do check it out if you have never been, it is worth a special trip.

In long It's one of the only public-facing businesses in this row of warehouses and offices. They have a small space where they crank out an impressive array of gins, plus aquavit and limoncello. The tasting room has a bit of bar and highboy seating, and there's a table next to the rollup door in the production space. After too many years without a visit, we rolled in on a sunny July afternoon for a few cocktails. Their Insta photos just made the special libations for this month sound all too irresistible. The setup is virtually unchanged since my first review years ago. They just have more cocktails on the menu, and more different special-release stuff to taste. We tried gins flavored with black truffles, coffee, and other cool accents. The taster flight is easily worth it, and we mixed in 4 different cocktails over the course of the session. They have a bartender now, rather than doing it all themselves all the time. There was a steady flow of other customers while we sat, including young families--it's kid-friendly!

But now that I've tasted it for myself, I can see myself returning for more bottles of bourbon. My friends and I were having a wine tasting day in the Maltby area, and decided to check out JP as our last stop. J.P. Trodden Distilling is a small-batch distillery, featuring bourbon whiskeys. The distillery is small, but has enough room for tastings and hanging out. I did the tasting flight, which included three bourbons, one whiskey and a maple syrup! All of the tastings were fantastic, and for anyone who likes dark liquors, JP is a spot to try. I ended up taking home a bottle of the single cask bourbon, but everything is great here. Staff was friendly and accommodating and it should be noted that there were free Seattle Chocolate truffles here! I didn't catch the name of the young woman who catered to us but she was as delightful as our visit was as she carefully ascertained our likes and suggested appropriate spirits for our tastings. Spot on! My wife got a flight of botanical gins and I got a flight of several of their whiskies. Three of the whiskies were 100% wheat which I've never experienced before. The last was their Arrow Point which is a mixed mash bill. My favorite was their 86-proof flagship whiskey Battle Point but the Arrow Point was a real pleasure too. What we both enjoyed immensely was the non-barrel aged botanical Heritage Gin so we just had to get a bottle and a matching hip flask. There was a killer pizza joint with sourdough crust right across the street and a brewery with wonderful stouts in the same parking lot. For crying out loud just come here and enjoy half a day. A perfect afternoon of whiskey, pizza, and beer!
