What caused me to write this review, was a purchased my husband brought home, of which was a fish dinner about two days ago, early July 2025. Upon checking what he brought home, it was a fish, with some burnt onions that wasn't fit for consumption, and some rice and peas with gravy from one of the meat, go figure. Mind you, this cost my husband $19.00. I called Sterling Crust Restaurant to complain about such unacceptable service. An employee, who identified himself by the name, Duane, upon asking. I explained the reason for my call. He immediately had the audacity to get upset and said, "you are the only person who complains, and that you brought back a soup and got an oxtail dinner that cost $22.00," of which he didn't think I should have given, though it was this very "Duane" who was the one who took the extremely spicy jerk pork dinner at a cost of approximately $16-$19 and the soup of which was consisted of bones and broth water at a cost of $9.00 that I returned, a couple of weeks ago in June 2025. The manger was the one who told me in the present of this Duane to choose what I wanted, and I chose the oxtail dinner. I walked into the restaurant last year to return food my husband purchased that wasn't to the standard of the cost. I observed someone screaming at the time I didn't know they were employees, he was screaming at about the standard of the food and loosing customers. At the time I didn't know he was the owner, he spoke to me, and I told him why I was there. Apparently, he changed employees and manager. On two separate occasions, in the past three months, I spoke with the evening manager, over the phone twice prior and three days ago, about such issues. Purchased of Soup, that's consistent of bones and broth water, yet being charged $9. 00, purchased of jerk pork that's overbearingly spicy that wasn't fit for consumption. I used to throw out the food, but decided this must be addressed to the restaurant because cost of approximately $20 for most of the food, but never get what I paid for. You will be served some rice, and whatever meat you choose, that's it. Not only that, you would have to be the one to ask for some salad, of which is substantial a few pieces of chopped up lettuce, a piece of tomato and two pieces of cucumbers, a small amount of cabbage, if they have any left. It's unacceptable to be charged such outrageous prices but get nothing but some rich and the meat you selected. Not My observation of this employee, Duane in person and after speaking with him on the phone, is an absolute arrogant, disrespectful person, of whom I would rather not be in his presence. So we, as I already told my husband that will no longer be purchasing any more food from restaurant, after purchasing food from Sterling Crust Restaurant at 747 Nostrand Ave and St. John's Place, after such a long time. I no longer trust purchasing from them because of their service. These disgruntled employees failed to realize, without the customers, they don't have a job. Moreover, there's a tremendous number of restaurants in New York to purchase food.
