This place is located in a strip mall with Vons and a Wendy's. I came here for lunch on a recommendation from a friend who had been here several times. I'd forgotten what he had recommended, unfortunately, so I ordered a machaca burrito ($5.99). The burrito was huge and filled full of machaca (shredded beef) and diced green chili peppers (I ordered without beans). The flavor was good and similar to what I'd find in the LA area. When you sit down (anywhere you'd like), the servers bring you a small bowl of salsa and chips to munch on. When you have finished, you can help yourself to the salsa bar and reload your bowl. There are salsas of various spiciness, along with your choice of lemon, cilantro, and onions to add if you wish. Also known as "T&T" (one of the T's being tacos) as the gals who work here have invested quite a few pesos on their chests. But enough of that, I know you want to read about my dining experience. This restaurant is very spacious and they have friendly waitresses. I got the enchilada plate that came with three of my choice and a side of rice and beans for $13.95. The portion was big and I left with leftovers that were yummy to eat hours later:) They have a big menu and they serve special quesadillas too! Try one if you have never had one before! Ordering "Take out" food? Order from JALISCO in El Centro, at your own risk. Why do I say this? Three of the past four times we have ordered from Jalisco in El Centro, they have failed to provide us with the whole order. The first time, I called them back and they sent someone to the house with the missing items. The second time, I went back there for it. Yesterday, it happened again. I called them and said I'd be by sometime today to get my money back for the missing items. We probably will not order take out from Jalisco again. Its a shame that a decent restaurant that has been in business so long is providing such poor quality service. read more

The food isn't terrible if you get what you order. Well, not the Caldo... (Burned, dry meat, whole cabbage, whole potatoes floating in flavorless liquid. Am I supposed to cut it up myself?!). Today, we forgot and ordered work lunch again (our fault- should have learned the first time). We previously asked for 1 order (1 parradilla). Last time it came with a large serving of meat and 3 quesadillas, beans, etc. "serves 2" (it's enough for 3). They forgot our drinks, oh well. So this time we ordered 3 parradillas (3 orders) and got the same 1. We called to tell them they forgot 2 orders, and they yelled at us for 10 minutes! This time we'll remember. Great food and good service. Our hotel said this was the best Mexican food in town. We went at an off time-around 2:00 on a Wednesday. Friend had the lunch special which was a taco salad and I had shrimp fajitas. Both were great and a large portion. The chips were really good with the right amount of salt! I love this restaurant! The portions are generous and the chips and salsa are great. I'm a white girl who hates spicy food and salsa, but I love the salsa that comes with the chips. I typically get chicken tacos, but I have also had their barbocoa which is amazing. As for ambience- the waitresses (exclusively female) are of a typical bar, very form fitted clothing and low cut tops, but family friendly. Service quality can be a hit or miss. IMPORTANT: If you don't like a loud restaurant DON'T go on Sundays. They have an extremely loud mariachi band playing Sunday during lunch. They then walk around and ask for donations. So if that sounds great to you, cool! But if not, stick to any other day except Sunday haha Their drink (non-alcoholic at least) glasses are huge, so that is a big plus! They have a salsa bar with carrots, lemons, and a few different types of salsa. All around it is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in the valley solely for their food. Came here for dinner with my girlfiend. As soon as we walked into the door we are greeted & told to sit anywhere we'd like. So as we looked for a table to sit down at, I notice our waiter, is already grabbing chips and salsa for us. As soon as we sat down he had all of that ready for us & greeted us. He asked us what we would like to drink, we ordered our drinks. Not even a minute later we receive them. At this time we notice off the bat that the Carne Asada Nachos looked irresistible, so we went ahead and ordered them to start off with while we looked further into the menu for our dinner entrées. We receive them 3 minutes later. The Carne Asada Nachos were absolutely amazing. We loved everything about them, the presentation, the flavor. The carne asada was thick, juicy & tender. It also had guacamole on it, wasn't too crazy about that, but everything put together made it perfect. About a few minutes pass, he returns & asks us if we were ready to order, we both order the Carne Asada Plate. After ordering he asks us again if we have everything we need. Our waiter was really attentive & made absolutely sure we were having a good experience here. It's been a very long time since I've had a waiter this genuine. A couple minutes pass, our food arrives, just after we finish the nachos. Lightning fast service. The plates were huge and had tons of food, we were very excited to eat. So we begin eating our entrees. Immediately, we fell in love, the carne asada was cooked to perfection, every single bite exploded with flavor. The beans & rice were good as well, nothing special though. The guacamole was ok. But the steak, the steak... I can't even. After finishing our main entrees. We were stuffed & very satisfied. Our waiter made sure the whole time we had everything we needed and kept our cups full. I have not had any Mexican food this amazing in a very long time, I have only tried a handful of Mexican restaurants out here in the Imperial Valley, so far, Jalisco's is on the top of my list. The customer service was amazing, our waiter deserves to be accommodated for his elite customer service. The food came out really fast, there was endless salsa and lemons at the salsa bar & most importantly the food was absolutely amazing. We were very happy with our entire experience here. Ordered carne asada taco. Asked for: corn tortillas, got flour, no onions, got several large soggy scallions atop, guacamole with no onions or cilantro, got it anyway... then got watered down avocado sauce. The meat was tough and had no flavor. The salsa bar had a variety of selections... also no flavor, muy bland. The rice however, was very good... great flavor. This was my first, most likely my last, visit. When my server brought the check, he asked about the meat, after I told him, he told me that I should've ordered anything else on the menu... "I don't eat it here, I can make it at home, much better". Now wouldn't you think this little tid bit of information should've been suggested prior? Just sayin! read more

I've been coming to this restaurant since I was a child. I'll never forget the delicious salsa they have. I came back home last night and came here to enjoy some Valley mexican food. The special quesadilla is large and delicious. The portions here are big no matter what you get. Even the drinks are served in a large glass! The service is always up and down. One of the only places open on new years, so despite the complaints of it being slow we decided to risk it on our trip from az to San Diego. Waitress took our orders within 2 min, food was delivered 5 min after that. Some of the best Mexican I have ever had, and that is saying a lot. Husband had Carne asada burrito. Meat was on the lean side, guacamole and tortilla were great. I special ordered a grilled chicken tostada with no onion. Came exacty the way I wanted, and with GRILLED not pulled chicken. Beans were delicious, and the roasted veggie salsa was BOMB! Ordered 16 oz to go. 2 meals, 1 drink, salsa to go = $19 with tax before tip. Geat food great value eat here! read more

This restaurant is located in a nice area and looks great. Everyone is very polite as you find your table. There is a guitar player who plays and sings old Mexican music and he is adorable old man. My only problem is the food prices. I think it's a little too much for a breakfast plate costing $16 dollars a piece for a simple eggs and bacon with potatoes. Had a great time here!!! Jose was our server and he was awesome! They have a great happy hour during the week and the food was really good! I had the shrimp cocktail and it was huge and full of shrimp!! My husband had a assortment of tacos and my aunt had a tasty beef soup!!! They do need to get some Mexican music on the jukebox!! Myself and some friends decided to stop in and have lunch at this establishment. I've known of this restaurant for years and have eaten here before but this recent visit was just horrible. We were immediately served our drinks and order taken but once food arrived we were completely ignored the area Hera meat was over cooked and dry like jerky but the rest was done well. We had to wave down a waiter several times and ask for our sides and drinks but they never came. A second friend arrived and ordered tacos which also never arrived until we waved down another waiter and asked for his food. They returned with cold and hard tortillas, all the meat was cooked but cold after sitting out so long. We were then brought a bill and were charged for the drinks we ordered but never received. Truly I am not one to complain about food service but this was truly the worst service and experience I had ever experienced in a restaurant. And all we were told was the staff was too busy due to lunch rush but there were only 3 other tables sat when we arrived and most already had their food.. don't think I will be returning here anytime soon just hope no one else experiences what myself and my party had to. read more

It was an unpleasant first time but I'm still going to recommend their food (I got chorizo and potatoes). I don't usually do Mexican food on this side of the border, and I've only eaten a few things from this place but they have good customer service. They accommodated us for a wedding shower. They took our reservation and checked in on us the day of to see if we wanted any tablecloths, a table for gifts and the cake.
