I quickly became a regular as frankly, there's nothing bad on the menu but some things are just really exceptional. For one, the chicken tinga is the best I've had - period. It's slow cooked with slices of chorizo and is so flavourful it's unbelievable. Just thinking about it now is making my mouth water. The pulled pork is also really good and is right up there with my favourites anywhere - you can tell that they haven't just dumped the same spice mix on both - and although they don't advertise it, they're more than happy to give you a half and half if you want both. But their burritos are more than just that - they make their own guacamole and it's just brilliant, and something I don't normally praise at a Mexican place - the salad accompaniments are also really good. The cabbage slaw is a particular favourite and goes really well with the pork. Their hot sauces are also made in house and the chipotle one is just awesome. This area has an over abundance of Mexican burrito places now with three within a few minutes walk - but the fact that you will have to queue for at least five minutes to get served at Santana Grill is a testiment of the quality that they produce. If you're like me and don't want to try to eat a messy burrito at your desk then you can get it in a box too - and trust me, they don't skimp on the portions!! I've eaten at quite a few different Mexican places around London and I rate Santana Grill and Daddy Donkey as the two very best.

I'm from Southern California so I know Mexican food. There is not a large Mexican population in London to provide the kind of authentic menus like you will find in London Indian restaurants. But after days of pub food, Indian and Italian we decided to give it a try. This is a nicely decorated little restaurant with a nice attentive staff. Was the food different from what we were used to? Yes, but it was very tasty. My wife had chicken tacos served on a large platter with separate portions to build your own taco. They had Mexican rice but no refried or black beans or lettuce for the tacos. The tacos were hard shell. I had fajitas and they were very good but served without a side of rice. The portions were very large. If you are in Pimlico, close to Victoria station, give it a try

Our waitress was friendly and attentive and took our drink order quickly. We ordered a wahacacolada and a mojito, and both were great. For dinner, we ordered the slow-cooked beef burrito, which arrived at our table quickly. The beef was tender and the burrito was very good. While we enjoyed the meal, I wouldn't consider it authentic Mexican cuisine, it has more of a modern twist which is probably what their aiming for anyway. Between the excellent service, great ambiance, tasty drinks, and enjoyable meal, we had a great experience and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to eat in London.

No reservation and they were completely booked but the host found the manager Renaldo who came over to me and explained they were booked but he would try and find me a table but it might take a while. Escorted me to the bar to wait, ordered a excellent Ancho Negroni using Mezcal and green Ancho Reyes served in a clay mug. Yum! Renaldo stopped by again said it would likely be :45m, and he ordered me the Guacamole on the house while I waited. Guac was mixed with fresh cheese (queso blanco?) and came with red and green sauces to modify the flavors, kind of like chutneys at an Indian restaurant. When a table was ready, Renaldo again stopped by to check on me and while the Carnitas I was looking forward to was already done for the night, the cactus salad and lamb chops were excellent as was the Mezcal served with spiced salt and oranges I'll be back to try the Carnitas! And it's okay. The ingredients in the burrito I had were fresh and fairly tasty, but overall it was a bit dry too - perhaps some Guacamole at 70 pence extra would have made a difference. I don't think the burritos are up there with Chilango's or Tortilla and I think they may need to consider introducing some cheaper options (burritos start from £5.50) given the many tasty lunch alternatives available nearby (e.g. Tachbrook Street market) for noticeably less, but Taquito's is a very welcome addition nevertheless. I'll be back to try some more of their wares and may update my review then.
