Yummy, fresh & tasty Mexican food! Jalapenos 808 is located in the Liliha Food Court (on the corner of Liliha Street & North School Street; sharing the same parking lot with McDonald's). The menu has a broad selection: burrito, bowl, 2 tacos plate w/beans & rice, 1 taco, torta, quesadilla, salad. You choose your favorite protein (chicken, spicy chicken, carnitas, pastor, birria, steak) or Mexican potatoes or veggies. They also have "Fiesta Fries" or Nachos, w/birria or steak; 3 Quesabirrias & consume. You get to select the type of beans (black, pinto or refried) & salsa (mild or hot). In addition, you can choose to add pico, shredded lettuce, onions, cilantro, lime, jalapenos, corn, cheese, sour cream, guacamole. (Note: they also have "sides" of a variety of items like beans, chips, fries, tortillas, etc. We did not order any sides, so I'm not sure how large those servings are.) As a treat, you can try Jarritos (Mexican soda). They prepare your order fresh while you wait & are very courteous & friendly. Most dishes cost anywhere from $16-$21, which initially might seem a little expensive, but in my opinion are well worth it. They do not skimp on the serving portions & even a big eater would be satisfied! We tried the birria nachos, birria bowl & spicy chicken burrito. The birria (shredded beef) is very tasty & soft. The nacho chips are thick & freshly fried, so they held up well under all the toppings. We took the food "to go" & the chips were still crunchy ~30 minutes later. The bowl is a great low carb option. I'm assuming the burrito was good because my husband barely came up for air while devouring it. The hot salsa was very tasty. (The food looked & smelled so good that I only remembered to take some pics after we ate half our dishes!) Overall, I would recommend this establishment. We will be back! read more

I've tried a burrito from thr Jalapeno's 808 in Kailua, I recall it being quite good. Now, I've tried their eatery in the Liliha Food Court on North School Street where the old Foodland was located. They've been open for about a year - approximately as long as the food court has been open. The food court itself isn't large. There are tables near their unit. It was Taco Tuesday ( this past Tuesday.15.Sep.26 ) and they had specials. I tried their carnitas, carne asada, and pollo tacos...tres tacos. They made for solid street taco fare. I think my favorite was the carne asada. Each taco was either $3 or $4. The Liliha Food Court is open daily from 1100a till 900p. Jalapeno's 808 is open daily: 1100a to 700p. Jalapeño's is located in the former Liliha Street Foodland that is now a food court. To their credit, they were one of only a few stands that was open for lunch on a Sunday, but their offerings looked promising. I ordered nachos with al pastor, and that thing was so big, I don't know how they made the container close! The al pastor meat was a bit hard, but still flavorful. I was able to add as many toppings as I wanted, and the ratio of toppings to chips--was very generous, plus under them all was not just grated cheese, but also orange cheese sauce--a fond memory of mine from 7-Eleven nachos back in the prehistoric times. I love that stuff! The food court was practically empty, the music was loud and parking was easy. I'd happily go back for more! read more

Restaurant hours are stated to open at 11am. I call in at 11 and I try to put in orders for clients and no one answers as I try for 30 minutes. I get to the location in person to a staff member who just says they are closed and will not open until 2pm. No apologies and horrible service to not answer the phone during your stated working hours. Overall seems like an unreliable restaurant that opens whenever they feel like it. read more

Such a great place! So enjoyed our taco salad with spicy chicken. The lady that served us was so kind & friendly. And Liliha Food Court was great. What a great find! Opted for burrito. Instead of heading to town, I figure I check out this recent mexican joint. Love that this is conveniently located in Kalihi, and the food court ambiance is really trying. Jalapeño first impressions, Service: quick and immaculate. Tons of protein choices, with traditional options a barria, burrito, quesadillas, bowls and more. Quality: looking for quality this place isn't it. Meat was obviously made from previous day (tough not tender) cause I've had better at local joints in the kakaako area. However, They make up for it in quantity which my burrito was so heavy. Salsa and lime should be staple in every plate but was sad that it didn't come with the sides, when I asked for it. Verdict. Would I recommend this place - Yes and no. To strangers, I would, maybe they have a better pallet. To friends and family, I think we would just head to our go-to spots, even if it's a long walk or short drive. read more

We heard about the new Liliha Food Court located in the old Foodland and wanted to check it out. My wife and I ate at Jalapeno's 808 and wasn't disappointed. We had a few of their bowls, but should have shared. Yes, it's that big. The food was ready in a jiffy and they let you pick all of your add-on/toppings. I would definitely eat here again. Spicing things up in Liliha... Love this little new spot in the new Liliha Food Court which was formerly Foodland supermarket as it was so sad to see them go I loved that it turned out to still be a place that we can gather for food. I do love jalapeños and was feeling quite naughty enough to order their fiesta fries as it did sound like a party situation which indeed it was where a large and let me tell you this can feed two easily is topped with cheese but you're able to add protein which I did add birria which was a generous portion that was quite flavorful chunks of shredded meat and once you pay are given a buzzer and when I returned was surprised that they asked what toppings I wanted and decided on pico de gallo, more cheese, corn, jalapeños (of course) and sour cream. OMG I already knew it would be impossible to finish but thankfully Mari was there and helped me out and finished it for me lol! The staff there is very nice and friendly and very efficient as well. Lunch in Liliha, Honolulu, Hawai'i... Located inside of the new Liliha Food Court, Jalapeño's 808 is one of the vendors in this clean, spacious, air-conditioned venue. The shared parking (with McDonald's) is free; there's a convenient restroom; and there's a Security Guard at the entrance to the Food Court! Service was friendly and helpful. The young man gave me a heads up that the avocado (guacamole) has an upcharge. I ordered one Pastor taco. It was generously topped with lettuce, onions, cilantro, and sour cream. I passed on the spicy peppers and salsa. The taco was tasty, fresh, and filling! I'm looking forward to returning and trying more menu items! read more

Everyone in the family loved Jalapeños. This is a place to come when you want: 1. A huge meal after a morning of surfing 2. An order that can serve 2+ people. I'm not kidding, the portions are HUGE! I was initially put off by the price (meals start at about $18, but once you add guac and meats, they come out closer to $25. We got two dishes (steak nachos and chicken bowl) and a jarritos (because delicious) for a little over $60. BUT we were able to eat the leftovers for an additional 6 meals just adding tortillas. Both dishes were super tasty and filling! We will definitely be back, although we might do more sharing next time! read more

Went to Liliha food court for lunch on a Saturday, not that busy at all. My wife wants to try this Mexican place while I ordered other food. The staff is friendly, we want to try the combo with soup, but they said they don't have it, bummer. So we switched to three tacos. Our meat choices are chicken, beef and pork. You can view the tacos in our photo. It comes with two sources. The fillings are so full it overflow, so, it is messy to eat it, the meat and veg. kelp falling out. I guess it is what it is. Get your hands dirty and dig in. The taco tastes Ok, but if I order again, I will go for the hard taco shell instead of the soft taco. The cost of about $21 for only three tacos seems a bit overprice in my opinion. Liliha food court has tables and chairs for you to enjoy your foods, they also have a pretty good size parking. BAB, burrito is huge, and very tasty. Its a little on the pricier side for burritos but oh man do you get your money's worth. We got the pork pastor burrito with everything on it. Refried beans, onions, jalapeño, cilantro, salsa, sour cream, spicy sauce. We opted for the guacamole so it was an extra $4, but it made it so flavorful, well worth the extra cost. I went in craving a humble bean and cheese burrito and somehow talked myself into ordering the Carne Asada Fries with guacamole instead. They're advertised at $19.50, but oddly enough, the carne asada costs an extra $3.00 and the guacamole another $4.00 bringing the total to $27.00. Fine. At that price, I assumed these fries were about to change my life . Sadly, no. What I received was a tray of fries absolutely swimming in canned nacho cheese. Staff were friendly and service speed was decent. I went before noon to beat the lunch rush. Tried the Chicken Bowl and the 3 Quessabirias with Consome. The Chicken bowl was very good especially when you mix guacamole. The 3 Quessabirrias were delicious but the sauce spilled through the paper take out bag, which will leak through if you put it in your car so for this specific food item you should eat it on the spot if you plan to try it. The food itself was delicious. The prices are definitely on the pricier end. A side of guacamole was $6. Parking is convenient there's a lot with a lot of parking spots. read more

The rice for the rice bowl was really mushy too and that just made the entire bowl unenjoyable.
