I walked in for an order to go. The place looked amazing clean and good vibes. The hostess took someone to a table and a man quickly came to check on what I needed. He gave me a menu and said to order at the bar for to go. The bartender was very pleasant. Out my order in and walked to the hotel I was staying at. Portions are big it didn't get to jumbled on my walk back and still hot. They come with a generous amount of chips and some salsa. The salsa was absolutely amazing. The service was good and the interior was modern and really big compared to the other location. The food was just okay, the salsa and chips were fresh, the queso was the consistency of heavy cream (fail), their carnitas were almost flavorless to me but I am happy that their rice and beans was actually good and the tamale (while not great) was better than the other locations. I'm not in a rush to visit any jalapeños locations to be completely honest. Their food lacks love (seasoning) and the preparation of the carnitas at both locations is not authentic. read more

You really can't go wrong at a jalapeños. Each one has its own little charming unique dining room set ups. This particular restaurant has a very large bar and overall is large. The service was good. Decided to get my "Taco Tuesday" on by having Jalapeños after work. The establishment was pretty empty so we had no trouble finding a table. Our server was very respectful and was fast to take our drink orders and bring us salsa and chips. After bringing our drinks in record time, our order was taken. I ordered the quesadilla and my husband ordered the Enchiladas. Our food arrived quickly and it was absolutely received hot and delicious. One pet peeve I have about dining out is overly zealous servers and unfortunately, our server interrupted us one to many times to ask if we were enjoying our food. Once or twice is fine but she seemed to come to our table every five or six minutes to ask if we were OK. It was a little annoying. If the food is delish, I don't like to be interrupted and it was. This was my only complaint. The environment was very clean and the tables were cleared immediately after diners paid and left. This is one of the better Jalapeños locations in the surrounding Savannah area. Definitely worth the visit! read more

Second time here when visiting family. We walked in and there was no one at the counter to seat us. Me my aunt and grandma stood there for about 2-3 minutes waiting for someone to seat us but no one did so we went to the bar. The bartender was friendly and he had to wipe down the area of the bar where we were going to sit. We got some drinks and some guacamole and chips. They were delicious. Went for dinner with a group of people from work. There was no wait and it was right past 6:30pm on a Thursday. They aren't practicing social distancing... every table was full. They don't wipe down each table before each person either. It's more like they wipe all the stuff from the table onto the floor. Tables are sticky and just not clean. We each ordered a happy hour drinks which again was kinda thrown together. Our server was nice but she kept rushing to get us to hurry up. So food... I got the veggie fajitas with corn tortillas and a side of rice. The corn tortillas were cold and hard. Had to send them back twice to get a replacement and each time they were again not fresh and cold. The rice was also cold like it had been sitting out in the open and a little crunchy. The fajitas didn't come out steaming hot like other of their restaurants. But semi warm like they had just quickly heated it up before serving. My coworkers food was also either semi warm or cold and no flavor. It was honestly a waste of money. Whomever is running their kitchen needs to be sent home. But the food was another story. We came in for dinner Saturday night and it was pretty busy. We were greeted and seated promptly and served some warm handmade tortilla chips and salsa. The chips were perfectly fried and tasted great, but the salsa was overly salty. No biggie -- we were still excited to place an order. I went with a chicken and beef fajita salad and my friend ordered a chicken and beef quesadilla. My salad looked more like a caldo (soup) than anything. Everything was swimming in dressing that I really felt I needed a spoon and not a fork to eat it. To make things more awkward, my meat looked and tasted like it was boiled. The beef actually had a gray tinge to it and was lacking flavor. My friend's quesadilla was the most awkward thing I've seen in a while. Why you may ask? Well, for starters it may have been a tacodilla, or a tortilla-dilla -- pick your poison on the hybrid -- but one thing is for sure it was not a quesadilla. The main ingredient in a quesadilla is queso (oooey gooey melted cheese) and this tortilla folded in half barely had any. It looked like someone took a paint brush and Bob Ross'ed the tortilla with friendly happy tree strokes just to barely gloss it. Now, it was packed with oodles of meat, but it was also bland. And since there was no cheese in the quesadilla nothing was binding the meat turning it into a tacodilla of sorts. We couldn't figure out how he should eat it. We tried and although we appreciate the nice service, what we were looking for was a good meal and unfortunately they didn't deliver. read more

On our way to the airport, we stopped for some great Tex-Mex. Jalapeno's was easy to find in the shopping center on Morgan's Corner Rd. They only had one other table, even though it was only one in the afternoon. We were seated where we wanted, just outside the bar area. I loved the decor around the bar and it was great to see all the TVs with sports programs. They had the sound down on the TVs so we could enjoy the music. I ordered the Speedy Gonzalez, which was just what I wanted - one crispy taco, one enchilada & rice (or beans, your choice). My daughter had the carnitas, which were very good! Traveling to NC we stopped at Jalapeños for dinner, we were seated quickly and our server Jessica was quick to acknowledge us. We ordered the Fajita Jalapeños (rib eye steak) it was prepared as ordered. We also ordered (1 ) Truck Stop taco. It did not come out with the fajita's, when we inquired where it was..... Jessica followed up, only to come back and tell us the Manager does not allow (1) taco, you have to order the taco meal. (3) Taco's. "Ok...... lthat would of been nice to know," prior to finishing our fajita. We still had the taco's (grilled shrimp with coleslaw on top-Excellent!) Jessica was sweet and a great server. I recommend to save herself a few steps..... Jessica should observe her tables more closely, picking up the check, or bringing water, napkins consistently between the customers. read more

Jalapeno's is a Savannah area chain of Mexican restaurants. Food is typically average-to-good, depending on how busy they are. I think they have lost their flair for really good food - maybe because they can't control that many locations anymore? Salsa is fresh and excellent. Service is hit or miss, depending on who is waiting on you. Ask for Angel - he's by far better than the other servers. Warning - this place is LOUD - terrible acoustics so if you want to have a conversation, this is not the place! Parking is ridiculous with so many restaurants in this shopping center. read more

What a fun place! The decor is festive and it's loud with music! They were packed on a Thursday night so that says something! I don't live in the area and my local friend said we have to eat here. The chips and salsa were delicious. We shared some entrees. Chicken soup- highly recommend it! Nachos- awesome! Queso Fundido- we only thought it was okay. I will only GIVE 4 stars for the food and cleanliness of restaurant but the bar tender that has curly long hair with blonde in it was the absolute WORSE!! She cussed about another employee to us and thought it was cute. She was lazy and rude! I have managed MANY front of the house restaurants and I have never in my 10 years seen something so horrible. Jalapeños has a very bright and colorful vibe going! There is a lot of seating area and also a full bar. It is essentially a family friendly restaurant . It also has outdoor seating, although I am not sure if it's dog friendly at all since I didn't see any . The food is quite good, however nothing particularly stood out to me in the dishes compared to other good Mexican places I've been to . I did appreciate the separate Vegetarian section in the menu . My husband ordered a Mojito and his drink was quite light : he wondered if they forgot to add the alcohol, however it tasted great regardless and we didn't think it was a big deal. I ordered a Chimichanga and asked them to make it without the meat , which they did . They are really good about subbing out the meat for any of the menu items :) ! The one thing my husband and I really appreciated was the service by the waiting staff! Our table was serviced by Roman , who was very polite and attentive; he made sure that our glasses were never empty and our table had unending supply of chips and salsa .
