Wonderful sandwich! Sad there were no chips and side pickle slice options but I survived because of that really tasty & fresh sandwich! The staff wasn't knowledgeable when asked if my husband could have a refill on his unsweet tea. Like, total "deer in the headlights" - "I don't know if we do refills here" from (not one) but THREE employees......so that was a little confusing, as he finished the small cup of tea & had to choke down the remainder of his food without drink. read more

Unbelievable experience. We arrived 30 min. Before closing. They serve breakfast but refused to make any more since they "close soon". So I ordered a veggie sandwich.. overpriced and when I open it it's literally bread muatard lettuce and 1 little tomato slice. I really want to be fair here, as it bums me out to leave a crap review. However, for the sake of the well-intentioned owners & the public at large, it's my duty to be honest. THE GOOD! Atmosphere: Quirky, bright & cute. The hodgepodge works & invites you to play with the crew. Crew: Awesome, smiley, laughy people who really like their jobs & each other. Funzo group for sure. THE OY VAY! Dining Space: Total CF. Hipsters taking up a table for 6 so they could lounge aimlessly with their laptops. Others trying to fit their group dragged screeching tables/chairs for several minutes while trying to circumnavigate the flash mob of foreign tourists who descended upon & thusly trapped us in their cloud of bodies & semi-lingual confusion. Patrons: Big mix of foreign & domestic tourists mobbing a few weathered locals who talked angry politics while an unsupervised 'Adderall Kid' pin-balled around the place in a way that makes you consider, just for a flash, tripping a child to stop their unbridled, sticky-fingered madness. Very nice Best Friends Animal Shelter ladies were quietly tending to business & easily the most grown up ppl in the room. Food Service: If you enjoy watching several, & I mean SEVERAL people, who ordered food after you receive their food before you, you will like the service here. Food: They nailed both egg orders (over easy & over hard) so huge . Then things got ugly. Both English muffins were barely toasted/grilled, which made them cold, doughy & floppy. The hash browns you pay $2.50 for are like those cheap McDonalds' ones, only a little bigger. Cool, but not for that kinda cabbage. The bacon was bacon-flavored cellophane, I think. Like it was there, but not there-there, the same way a Listerine Strip is there/not there. It was the oddest damn thing & overall disappointing & unpleasant. What a great little find in Kanab! The staff is super friendly and even remembered us from the day before. The restaurant has a nice homey vibe and the food is delish! They have the best bagels which is what brought us back the next day. Although you have to get here early for the best selection! A nice little breakfast spot. We wanted to grab a quick bite before we left and found this place. We ordered the southwest burritos, breakfast sandwich on a Bagel and a breakfast sandwich on whole grain. The place is spacious. The table were a little sticky. They have little books that they put on the table which I thought was a neat touch. The staff was nice. The person that took my ordered was pleasant. So, as I was waiting, I can smell our orders being cook. One thing for sure is they need ventilation for the cooking smoke. From where I was sitting, I can see they are using a conventional oven for a home and there were no vent to take in the fumes. Therefore, my clothes absorb all the cooking fumes which suck. As for the food, for the price we paid, I guess it was descent. The food tasted good, not bad. But if I return to Kanab, I wouldn't go back to grab breakfast here because I would rather go to Kanab Creek Bakery that is on the other side of the street. read more

Lovely, locally run coffee shop on main thoroughfare of Kanab. This place is busy since not many things open early for breakfast and if you're in town for the Wave lottery this seems to be the place where everyone goes before trying their luck! Nice selection of coffee drinks and breakfast sandwiches and burrito. Bagels and muffins are made from scratch. I had a tasty everything bagel, toasted with cream cheese. It hit the spot with my hot vanilla latte. My companion had a breakfast burrito that we could watch being made on the griddle while we waited. He didn't care for the chopped ham in it but it was otherwise tasty. Overall a good spot to catch a quick breakfast before starting your active day in Kanab or it's surrounding area. Utah has dropped its mask policy for COVID and most businesses do not require masks. It seems to be up to each individual place of business on what they choose to do and each individual person on whether they want to where one or not. No employees at this location were wearing masks but that has been generally what I have seen all week while visiting the state. read more

The the two women (one a girl) who were running the cafe were unfriendly and uncommunicative. We felt like we were being an imposition when asking about the menu. They were out of coffee and we had to wait while they brewed some. While waiting for the coffee I observed their workspace was filthy, from the coffee grinder to the cappuccino machine. The food we ordered (breakfast burrito and a breakfast sandwich) took 20 minutes to prepare. The dishes were average with the breakfast sandwich (ham and egg on a croissant) being almost cold. The coffee, however, is Ibis, and excellent. Not impressed. They slap it out, and don't smile. read more

I am always looking for the hidden gems in the various states I travel. Jakey Leigh's is exactly that. I came in today at about 10 AM and tried out their Breakfast Burrito. Not more than 10 minutes later I was awarded a good-size burrito that was a taste of Heaven. It was a perfect combination of flavors inside a light and crisp tortilla. The shop is small, simple but clean and the staff: wonderful and good-humored. My only regret is that I don't live nearby and so will have to wait a while to go again. Until then! read more

We walked in early on a Sunday morning after just flying in from Tampa, FL. The staff was very friendly and the selections were exactly what we wanted. My son had a plain bagel with creme cheese because he's a dork and I had a bacon, egg, and cheese croissant with a blueberry scone and some hot tea. I came for the homemade bagels and fresh turkey sandwiches! Oh everything here is so delicious! Come early before they run out of fresh daily baked goods. The outdoor patio seating is just perfect. It's a great spot to take in all the Kanab Charm on Main Street downtown. The service was truly excellent. I came with kids and our server was very thoughtful to cut the chocolate chip muffin in half for my two kids and bring them out on the cutest mini plates. Thank you! We will be returning very soon! Stopped in our way out of Kanab on a weekday morning. It's a small place with limited inside seating but they also have some outdoor seating. We thought we were going to have to sit outside as all the inside tables were taken but one opened up for us. I got a latte with oat milk and a breakfast sandwich which had bacon and cheese on my choice of sesame bagel. Not much to say bad or good - - had a fine experience with the lady behind the counter, the bathroom was clean (what else do you want, really, from a small town coffee shop???), and there seemed to be happy customers sitting around chattering away with each other. I only ordered an Almond poppy seed muffin, and was intrigued to try something I'd never heard of before. It might have been sliiiiightly overdone, but tasted well enough. This is by far the worst place I've ever been to eat. First off, the drinks are all watered down and don't taste good. Secondly, there were kids running around the kitchen distracting the cook from cooking. I also saw the cook drop a bagel on the ground, picked it up, and used the same glove that touched the floor to scoop lettuce out of its container, put it on the sandwich and then gave the customer the sandwich. After I got my drink and food a sat down at a sticky, uncleaned table. The food was not the best and my cappuccino was way too watered down and was cold. Do not recommend there are tons of other great places to eat in Kanab but this cafe is not it! read more

Cute-enough coffee shop in the middle of Kanab. Nice, if not inefficient, employees. Only had a cold brew, which was fine, but took 15 minutes to prepare. It was odd. There were 2 people working, one taking orders and one preparing drinks, and the order girl was going so quickly that literally 10 people were waiting for their drinks and the backup was huge. I sort of thought the order-taking girl should have moved over to help the long wait of coffee orders. She literally just poured it into a cup once she got around to my drink. 3.5 stars. read more

This trip was our fourth time visiting the area and we are sorry we just now discovered this place! Friendly staff with a great vibe. During busy times you might wait a little longer but the food and coffee have been good every time. The menu is straight forward, you know what you will get as far as portion size and what is included. My husband and I got the scones, breakfast sandwich and the billy bob burrito. This place is cute but understaffed. If you're Covid-conscious, this is not the place to go. Two women were doing everything, one with a newborn baby on one shoulder. I'm sure there's a good explanation for this, but the result is the cook taking money and picking up dirty dishes, and then using the same gloved hands to scoop food onto people's plates. Egregious violations of basic food safety, let alone the extra care that's supposed to be taken during a pandemic, which does also exist in Utah. It's the only option in town for breakfast on most days, and it's mediocre. You're better off with one of the fast food options in town. read more

Frankly, I am stunned by the positive reviews of this place. We went there yesterday because it came up on a search for local breakfast places. There were three simple breakfast choices on the menu. Nothing fancy, just stuff that we all make at home all the time. The WAIT: We waited for about 20 minutes at an outside table and still no food. The flies started bothering us too much so we moved to an inside table. It was another 30-40 minutes after moving inside before we started getting our food. There were three of us and it was delivered separately about 5 minutes apart. The KITCHEN: When we moved inside, I happened to be sitting where I could watch what was going on in the kitchen. It was a complete disaster. Their orders were written on sticky notes. And these sticky notes were stuck on various surfaces around the grill area. Sometimes they would fall on the floor, someone might see it and pick it up again. Sometimes not. Sometimes a sticky note would get thrown in the garbage and then pulled out again because they realized it was an order they hadn't done yet. They seemed busy but COMPLETELY disorganized. Did they all get stoned before they opened? You have to wonder. A big concern: the sink is right next to the grill. There was someone washing dishes and smashing water, etc over onto the food that was cooking on the grill almost the whole time that the cooking was going on. It was appalling to watch. This has to be a health violation? CUSTOMER FRUSTRATION: Everyone in the place was getting very frustrated. People were lined up at the counter next to the kitchen, asking where their food was. Lots of people waiting, very little food coming out of the kitchen. The FOOD: The food was extremely mediocre. Cold limp hash brown like the frozen ones at McDonalds (not homemade), poorly cooked eggs, razor-thin bacon, cold breakfast burrito. It was a joke. You might ask, why didn't we and everyone else simply walk out and find another place to eat. It's because we had already paid for the food! It's a walk up counter. You order, you pay and then go sit down and wait for your food. The only positive about this place was the barista/order taker. She was friendly and made good espresso drinks. I got the feeling she was trying to make up for the terrible service going on in the kitchen. This place is a disaster. Avoid it like the plague. read more
