Ed said over the phone if I showed up, they'd help us do everything. Appointment wasn't officially scheduled until 2:28 for that 12 appointment which makes 0 sense unless you're a time traveler. They put a new tire on and disposed of the old one for $107. I had to do everything else out front on my own, in the snow/sleet. They helped get the lug nuts to torque spec for free at least, when I pulled around. But, I feel I should've been deducted the labor charge after all of that and only paid for the tire itself. I get that you're busy, but it seems painfully obvious that you're prioritizing higher paying clients and not an emergency who needs to drive another 180 miles to get home. Thanks, but no thanks.

Different name brands are associated with Sam's Club then you will find at the other company, and I'm not complaining. I enjoy the quality, the variety and the cost from both companies but I like being able to get different brands or different items than what I was used to seeing. Mind you this same SUV had been gone over for safety prior to the school year exactly 1 month earlier on 12/23/24 by a friend and owner of a well respected auto shop in Excelsior MN outside of MPLS and was given a clean bill of health. The only complaints for the SUV was a known nail in the passenger front tire of which they charged an acceptable $26.99. What was "found" during the visit was the need to Remove and Replace both front lower Control Arms $986.32, Computerized 4 wheel alignment $159.95 and Remove and replace Valve Cover Gasket $757.88 for a total of $2093.27. We drove to Duluth and took the SUV to another auto shop and that shop was given the estimate sheet from 4th Street Auto as kind of a "cheat sheet" to guide them on what possibly needed to be repaired. After a full day of driving to and from Duluth and the expense of another car exam the final diagnosis was.....none of those suggested repairs were needed. I would personally suggest using caution if you are a young female student or anyone with no car knowledge taking your car in for repairs to this establishment.

I can not believe how stupid some fueler are....smoking at the fuel pumps. Gasoline is not for children to play with and they should stay inside the car. I never pour my coffee as I don't want to spill. I have them pour it...as I am handicapped and clumsy. They works on all my gasoline vehicles. Axle repairs... to fuel tanks.. to tires and batteries...to electrical and tune ups. They have specialized shops they send some jobs to. They always use professional shops & people in outsourcing that are reasonable at pricing. The diesels go to the BIG TRUCK shops...were there is no children and spilling of coffee. It is hard to find full service stations. Everything is milk and eggs and no repairs. When they retire and sell the station...I will have to go 7 miles to get good repair service from a rural shop that excels in repairs. City of Duluth hates mechanics and garages.
