Fast, friendly service! I had snow tires installed with an appointment lasting less than 30 minutes in and out!

Had a punctured tire 41 miles away, out in Castle Danger. Drove back on my spare the next day. Called at 8am and had an online appointment at 12pm scheduled. Ed said over the phone if I showed up, they'd help us do everything. Appointment wasn't officially scheduled until 2:28 for that 12 appointment which makes 0 sense unless you're a time traveler. They put a new tire on and disposed of the old one for $107. I had to do everything else out front on my own, in the snow/sleet. They helped get the lug nuts to torque spec for free at least, when I pulled around. But, I feel I should've been deducted the labor charge after all of that and only paid for the tire itself. I get that you're busy, but it seems painfully obvious that you're prioritizing higher paying clients and not an emergency who needs to drive another 180 miles to get home. Tires Plus - An email confirmation for an appointment scheduled for 2 1/2 hours earlier???? - Tires Near Me - Duluth, Minnesota

I feel confused about this tires plus location. The people are very nice (except Trevor the mechanic gave me bad attitude when I kept asking questions about a repair), and they have fixed something the same evening I brought it in - which I appreciate. But two times, after having tires installed they told me about other repairs necessary and gave me a quote. I took the cars to other mechanics for a second opinion and both times the other places (two different places) said it wasn't necessary yet. So it does feel like they are trying to get more money from you. I won't return. read more

3 sets of tires in under 3 years. Last 2 sets were dry rotted. They pro rated the price. tried to get the manager to talk to me and have not heard a word. Do not get your tires there. read more

Always cost money to bring your car in to a shop but they have always fixed my vehicle when I don't have time to and they dont pull chains or make you fix stuff for that is not broke. read more

six stars. estimate up front explaining exactly what they were gonna do. replaced a brake light i didn't even know was out. applied coupons to my price that i didn't know about. and what was really the best part of all is the service given by Tammy and Bob. they're both very knowledgeable and friendly and if one of them is on the phone the other one knows exactly whats going on with your vehicle too which is really nice. .also, the mechanic who replaced my tires, fixed my brakes (and brake light) and changed my oil did a great job too. i would give tires plus on west central entrance in duluth MN six stars if i could read more

We had our tire "fixed" at two other places on our way to Duluth. Went flat both times. Within a minute the tech at Tires Plus diagnosed a cracked rim (aluminum alloy). We decided to order a new steel and placed the order for overnight delivery. It was late in the day for an overnight delivery and the rim came in early on the second day. They had me back on the road within an hour of the wheel arriving. They did everything they could to help us out and we are grateful. Thanks!! read more

Another obscure review, but one that is deserving of every star I am giving! A few years back I got 2 new tires at Tires Plus in New Hope, after getting a flat on 169. I declined to buy insurance on them because (as I thought) how likely was I to get another flat soon? Wrong. 2 weeks later--yes, only TWO weeks--I was up visiting a friend in Duluth when I realized something was wrong with my car...it was making a terrible noise, and I soon came to the conclusion my tire was leaking air. Thankfully, my friend Reed was with me, so we were able to pull over, put on a spare, and drive carefully to the nearest tire store--which happened to be another Tires Plus. The mechanics there were extremely friendly and not only did they replace my tire quickly, they charged me nothing(!!) Even if I had not purchased road hazard insurance, they were kind enough to replace my tire free of charge. Now if that doesn't deserve 5 stars, I don't know what does. If I could give them 20 stars I would. Paul and the crew fit me in for a whole new set of tires in about four hours from drop off to job done. The tires are excellent and they also fixed some minor other issues in that time too. Great job and I'll be back for certain in the future. read more

Had my back brakes serviced there a few years ago and come in this year for another problem for them to tell me that my brakes have never been touched. Poor taste considering i still have the receipt for "life time" brake service. They try to scare tactic me into a lot of parts actually I was about to bring my car to a junkyard. I now work on my own Vehicle thanks to tires plus and have now been more confidant in her ability to keep going. upon servicing my back brakes I find they have JB welded my brake line to my caliper. Nice! Not! This should have been replaced properly especially for the out rages prices they charge for parts. Charged me more to lathe a rotor then they did to replace one completely. makes 0 sense to me but that is what they do to people who don't know anything. charged me 250 for a rotor and 270 for a lathe. a brand new premium rotor is 50 to 60 bucks by the way. Got to love that mark up! I'm also guessing they don't properly torque either as mine were well past 140 ft pounds. They probably ride it all the way in and hammer it home with an impact. read more

This was the best service I've ever received from a tire place! I got in much faster with my appt. than I had expected and then it took less time to get two new snow tires placed on my car than any other place I've been to. I have been a Tires Plus Duluth customer for decades, and always had good service. They were friendly, honest, and reliable. Recently I had a new set of tires installed and the salesman presented me with recommendations for unneeded repairs totally hundreds of dollars for parts that I knew were not defective. I inspected those parts myself, found nothing wrong, and had two separate technicians at the dealership inspect them. They agreed with me. The estimate given to me was about four times that given by other providers. I was not impressed with this salesperson. I think he should be identified and dismissed. This has been a good business, and he is about to ruin it. I note someone else has had a similar experience. read more

I bought 4 new tires here. Not long after (around a month or so) a couple of the tires started leaking. I brought them back in and asked if there was anything they could do to repair them and to get them to stop leaking. They said they could not do it. I asked them if there was anywhere else they could recommend who could fix the leaks. They said that it was impossible to fix them. read more

Tires Plus in Duluth is amazing. The guys at the counter are so polite, and they are very honest. I went in there thinking I needed new tires, but they wouldn't sell me tires because I didn't need them. Then they fixed the brake pads. However the next day I took the car back because I felt a little shudder in the brakes. They re checked the brakes and realized that the front rotors were warped. They apologized for the oversight, and did the repair for free, parts and all! I found them to be completely honest and trustworthy, which is a nice thing to find in an auto shop. read more

We always go to tires plus for oil changes, repairs, and tires. I pulled in at 8:00 on Saturday morning for an oil change, and was told it was a 45 minute wait. I calculated the wait time plus the actual work time and decided to wait, hoping to be out by 10:00 to get to my daughter's soccer game. The guys were great and bumped me up. I was out of there by 8:50 and they gave me the coupon price when I didn't have one with me! They are awesome! read more

I've had nothing but good experiences with the guys at this location! In 2014, I bought new tires from them (and they were extremely kind and honest with me then) that they had done and ready to go in a timely manner, and in fall of 2015 I ended up with a nail in one that they patched right up for me. Drove up from St Paul late last night and just outside Duluth the temp warning light went off... This morning leaving our hotel it went off again. Fortunately we ran across Bob and Paul at Tires Plus. Told them what happened, (and of course the light would not go on this time) and the quickly checked the radiator levels and added the fluid needed. All is well! We asked how much for their help and they said they were happy to help and no charge! In today's world it's great to run across people and businesses like this! I have bought several sets of tires at this location. I used to buy at Firestone on 1st St, but had a really bad service guy a few years back. I use 4 Blizzaks on rims during the winter (from Tires Plus) and needed to replace original equipment tires for summer. Mike gave me very good service on the last two sets of tires that I purchased. I also felt well served on a set for an old Celica several years back. They always have a coupon available for my oil change. And Jeremy was great when I called back to cancel the road hazard that I did not want, without any argument. Also, I haven't had a bunch of this "you need an aligniment" and I have my tires replaced in the spring and in the fall. So, they are building some trust with me. I would give them a five, except for a repair that was done on my husband's truck. It was rather high priced and was also done wrong. Someone else pointed out the error to him. When he went back to Tires Plus, they redid it, but didn't do anything for make up for it...free oil change or something?? read more

This location absolutely scammed me. Do yourself a favor and go to Firestone by the mall. Same company, same great tires, no shady managers. Didn't realize until I drove half way across the country and went to another Tires Plus location. I was sold clearance tires that were manually marked up in price, the wrong size for my vehicle, and opposite of what I asked for. I noticed how loud the set was, and realized I had an overall drop of 9 MPG on my trip. I had requested eco friendly, quiet riding tires. Was sold borderline racing tires, which were in the process of detaching themselves from the rim, due to the wrong size and application for normal driving. Safety and cost of gas aside, the manager at the Indianapolis location also noticed two of the tires (which I bought extra warranties for) had fudged serial numbers in their system. Had the manager at the Indy location not have noticed the other red flags on my receipt, it would have appeared that I swapped the tires myself and passed them off as new, according to the serial numbers. read more

I was guided to this place of business when I needed a new battery for my car. $295 later......shook my head at that cost.....I also got an oil change.....found out later they never tightened anything back up and it was a little costly....while in for the oil change, I was told they found several "other" things wrong and I also needed 4 new tires......and it couldn't wait because the tread was "illegal" and I'd probably get pulled over for it.....What? Anyway, while he's explaining all of this, the service repair guy comes out and in a loud voice states "IT'S HER LUCKY DAY...I JUST FOUND SOME MORE THINGS WRONG!" I asked how much all of this would cost and he said he'd show me the estimate when I paid my bill for the battery and oil change. He wouldn't show me the estimate directly, he folded it up neatly and put it in with my receipt for the repairs. I opened it up and just shook my head.....I ordered 4 new tires from a shop in Virginia and they did the repairs for a fraction of the cost Tires Plus would have charged and the tires were WAAAAY better!!!! Last week I went in to another shop for my most recent oil change and was told about the "great" job (smh) Tires Plus did on my last oil change. And...was also told there were problems with the battery I bought from them in January.....Really? I don't recommend them.... read more
