The last company we used, Service Now Home Services in Cortland, came out three different times for drain problems and charged us each time. The first two times, the work wasn't done correctly, and when the problems continued, we were charged again. They never actually fixed the underlying issue or offered us a quote to do the job right. When I complained, I was ignored. Ryan at Pointer was completely different. He was extremely well priced, honest, and much more affordable than the other quotes we received. He came out the same day and got to work within minutes. In under two hours, he completely redesigned the plumbing under our kitchen sink, cleaned out the drain pipe, and even pushed out a broken auger attachment that I had accidentally broken off inside the pipe while snaking it the night before. I honestly wish I had called them from the beginning. It would have saved us a lot of money, time, and frustration over the past year. I would give Ryan 10 stars if I could! Thank you, Ryan! A year ago, Paul roughed in the plumbing for our half-bath, moved our old water heater (without breaking it), and neatened up some messy, ugly plumbing for a small laundry room. It was a tricky job with old pipes in weird places. He and his associates did an amazing job. They were reliable, showing up when they said they would; knowledgeable, coaching me on how to properly install the hardware, and completing their work in the timeframe they estimated. I loved that Paul installed a brace for my sink - refusing to allow me to anchor it to the drywall as the sink instructions suggested. :)He could have just let me crash and burn with that one. Through our conversations and this experience, I learned that Paul is a very likable, responsible, ethical, and hardworking individual. I was on a tight budget. The first issue was some very twisty plumbing under our kitchen sink. They came out in a couple days (it was not an emergency) and simplified everything, plus gave us some helpful suggestions. Very efficient trip, and very fair price. This week, I called on Tuesday, and got an appointment for Thursday over my lunch break to have them look at our outside spigot. Water would shoot out of the handle when you twisted it, and the screw holding on the handle was corroded. I didn't want to take a chance and have to turn off water to the house, so I had a professional look at it. Complicating factor - the spigot goes into the house 10 inches, then makes a hard right turn, and all of this is somewhat hidden behind floor joists. Even if I could get to it, I don't know how to sweat copper pipes. The inspection turned into a replacement, and without cutting any beams, he was done before my lunch hour was over. Very impressive efficiency. Nice guy, too. Definitely recommended.

A very pleasant and friendly worker showed up and got right to work. He used a hand blower to blow any leaves and debris from the gutters. There was one gutter that had shreds of roofing shingles inside the elbow. He removed the elbow, cleaned out the debris and hosed down the gutter to make sure water ran out with a good flow.
