New AC

Great doing business with All-Star Heating and Air Conditioning. I had quite a bit of air conditioning work that needed to be done and it was an on time no hassle experience. I had all of my options presented to me. Options from low cost to as fancy as I wanted to go and spend. At the very end of the process all promises were completed 100%, plus more... All of the employees were great from the very first phone call to the very last inspection. I recommend All Star Heating and Air Conditioning. They are scheduled, upfront, and honest. A BIG THANKS to you all at All-Star! Keep doing what you are doing, I look forward to years of business with you.

Glad to have this little guy on the fridge.

I hired Ben Franklin Plumbing (DeKalb) because they were able line the clay pipe leading to the…read moremain sewer, which was under the street, and line the 70 year old clay sewer pipe under the concrete floor in my basement without cutting up the concrete. Their lining (also called cured in place pipe) offers 2 yr. warranty on the work and 50 yr. transferable warranty on the lining material. My experience began with Aaron from BFP providing estimates for several possible outcomes based on what the initial camera inspection was able to identify. BFP began by replacing an 8 ft. section with a belly and installing a clean-out. Then hydro-jetted the line to the sewer removing a 4 ft. root ball that was clogging the clay pipe. Next they lined approximately 50 ft. of clay pipe to the main sewer and 25 ft. of cast iron pipe under the concrete flooring in my basement. There was no digging up my yard, other than to replace the section with the belly. The lining process required BFP to return on a Saturday. It was raining that day but Mark, the owner, returned working 4 hrs. in the rain to complete the lining process and insure the completed work was ready for the Village to inspect. I never sought estimates to trench to the curb or into the street. A neighbor had done this and the overall cost to replace the sewer line to the main sewer in the middle of the street was twice the total cost from BFP. In addition, the aging cast iron pipe into my house was lined. I will never have another sewer problem again. And if I do, I'll call Aaron and Mark at Ben Franklin Plumbing.

A year ago, Paul roughed in the plumbing for our half-bath, moved our old water heater (without breaking it), and neatened up some messy, ugly plumbing for a small laundry room. It was a tricky job with old pipes in weird places. He and his associates did an amazing job. They were reliable, showing up when they said they would; knowledgeable, coaching me on how to properly install the hardware, and completing their work in the timeframe they estimated. I loved that Paul installed a brace for my sink - refusing to allow me to anchor it to the drywall as the sink instructions suggested. :)He could have just let me crash and burn with that one. Through our conversations and this experience, I learned that Paul is a very likable, responsible, ethical, and hardworking individual. I was on a tight budget. Plumbing is never cheap, but Paul's cost estimates were accurate, and final pricing was equal to or less than his estimates. In addition, what he estimated matched estimates I had received from other plumbers. A year later and everything works beautifully. I will definitely call these guys back for any future plumbing work.

Because we were displaced, H.E.R.O. moved us up in the list and got us a top of the line until (the last a local supplier had) and installed it quickly so the cleanup crew could get us back in. They even recommended a plumber, Steve Clark, who has given us similar service. We are now waiting on the thaw to get the air conditioner portion installed which is sitting in their facility. The unit is wifi capable and will contact H.E.R.O. if a problem develops. We joke with friends that our thermostat gets HBO and Cinemax. We have and will continue to recommend them without hesitation or reservation.

Also checked my capacitor and suggested I replaced it due to it not running at full compacity which I did(obvious up charge). They gave me quotes for a few different options to do like replacing whole unit, cleaning ducts, replacing fan etc. I said I'll have to talk it over. Called a couple weeks later to find out the price again. They wanted to charge me another service fee so they could come out again to tell me the quotes from prior visit. On top of another service fee for the service when they do the replacing of part. So up to 3-4 service fees for one issue that they did not resolve. At $100 dollars a pop not including anything else.
