I was surprised by the shrimp and grits after eating the description, but there was no Gouda flavor to be found. I'm not sure if the mustard seed cut all of the flavor out or what the deal was. I did like the greens on the side, I found the sweetness of the dressing very pleasant. My son had the s'mores waffle and the waffle itself was bland but all the sugar on top covered it, so he knocked off a pretty good chuck of his meal.

I've seen photos of the Jakes burgers since they arrived in the Metroplex. I've referred to my quest for a burger that did those very photos justice. Bingo! I finally got around to trekking over to Mansfield and ordering to go. Let's start with the restaurant. It was super easy to access and exit, the location is very nice, the interior is well done and instantly comfortable (had my wife not been waiting for me at home, I would have grabbed a seat and had a beer), friendly staff, and quick service...they did everything right and more impressive: this seemed to be the normal groove. Now let's talk about the main event. I am a lover of all things burger and somewhat snobby about it. The Jakes Double was unbelievable. I have my long time favorites but there is room at the top for this work of art. My wife had The Jake and was equally impressed. From bun-to- bun, well done! While these cheesy, beefy, fresh burgers are show stealers, the sides are an entire chapter in and of themselves. The Onion rings are my fave. They were hot, battered perfectly, and plentiful. The fries are also very tasty. We've decided this will be a weekend regular and are planning on dining in next time around. If you're looking for a nice burger and beer place with a real neighborhood feel, stop by and give them a try. Maybe we'll see you there! read more

We had the absolute best experience at Jake's, and it was all thanks to our incredible server, Hadley! The place was packed when we came in, but you would've never known it by the way Hadley took care of us. She was attentive, patient, and genuinely kind from start to finish. She went above and beyond to walk us through the menu, explaining different options, sharing her recommendations, and answering all of our questions without ever making us feel rushed. Even with a full section, she made sure our drinks were always full and checked in on us at just the right times. Her timing was spot on, and she made the whole experience feel personal and relaxed, which is rare during a busy dinner rush. Hadley's service truly elevated our night. Jake's sponsored Mansfield High School Lady Tigers Soccer Spirit Night tonight, and it couldn't have been better! The entire JV team got there late, around 8:45pm, and the staff immediately found a space for the entire team to sit together. They were seated, served, and cashed out in an hour. And keep in mind that these were teenagers, with separate checks. Amazing! The hostesses and wait staff couldn't have been more accommodating. And the burgers were perfect and delicious, even with so many orders coming in at once! Then, just as the JV team was leaving at 9:45pm, the Varsity team showed up, having just finished their game. The staff just had Varsity take over the JV tables. It was seamless. I've had a lot of meals with soccer teams, and never have we been able to get out within an hour. And Jake's went above and beyond to serve the MHS Lady Tigers tonight! Thank you, Jake's!!! read more

You've got some regular customers now Jakes!!!! Today was our first time ever going to Jakes and once was all we needed to love it. Our server was ALLEN and he was awesome. He was attentive to our needs, great attitude, and was able to explain the menu and recommend what to get. We started with some appetizers (chicken tenders) and they were amazing. Had that spicy but not spicy taste. Then, we got a #3 double cheeseburger and the chicken fried chicken and again amazing! Great recommendation ALLEN! The spicy sauce gave it that kick that I love. And to finish it out, we got Oreo milkshakes and again AMAZING! I've never had a milkshake like that. Everything ALLEN recommended we got and loved it. Second trip to Jake's and it was even better than the first! Arrived at the peak of happy hour and were greeted with big smiles and felt very welcome. Seated quickly! Lanie was our waitress - she was super busy with a couple of big tables but still made us feel like we were the only table in the place. Super friendly and helpful. I had the turkey burger with mushrooms and it was swoon-worthy! My husband had the CFS sandwich and he loved it. We shared the onion rings. He likes hand-battered rings better but I loved Jake's! Perfectly crispy and not at all soggy. Lanie recommended the mellow cake - which we weren't hungry for so we ordered it to go. But when it arrived we peaked at it and couldn't resist! OMG!!!! Finished it right there! Overall another great experience at Jake's. Can't wait to try something new next time! read more

I just wanted to share what an AMAZING STAFF they have there! We had a party of 12 - not an easy feat for a new restaurant, especially the size of the Jake's in Mansfield. The GM Curtis was so great! We expected a delay but Curtis and the hostess Molly (?) were right there to keep us informed and our wait was really not that bad. The food was great - it came out hot and quickly too! Our server Felicia was nothing short of awesome. She handled our orders like a champ! Always smiling and even cracking jokes. What a wonderful experience, especially from a "newly opened" restaurant where you might expect there to be growing pains. Thanks to Curtis, Molly Felicia and the rest of the Jake's Crew! This is the first time I have been to Jakes Burgers and Beer. I am a forever fan !!!I The atmosphere, food,beverages and service is 100% the absolute best. I highly recommend this wonderful establishment!!When I left I was having car trouble and out comes the Manager Zach Mahoney. He is an Angel and a true wonderful man. I'm a kid blogger, so this is a review from a kid's perspective! I got the JAKES SPECIAL. It comes with cheez, lettuce, tomato, and thousand island sauce. I got it without tomato and replaced the sauce with honey mustard. The burger, well imagine this for the burger size...if I were to put my two fists together side by side and two fists tall, that was pretty much about the size of the burger. Went to Jakes Burgers and Beer last night. We ordered the #8 Jalapeño Bottle Cap Burger and the #22 The Hot Cowboy. Both burgers were delicious. The sweet potato fries with their marshmallow sauce was out of this world and I don't like marshmallows. The beer was cold but a little expensive so will go back during Happy Hour. Can't wait for the patio weather to try out the awesome patio and when they open the garage doors of the bar. If you haven't been to Jakes yet I suggest you try it! AWESOME food, AWESOME local beers, and AWESOME people working there who provide the absolute best of service! They make the best burgers into salads (I love the swiss mushroom burger salad!), while my husband loves the Jalopeno bottle cap burger. We had an incredible experience thanks to MYA's AMAZING SERVICE! It's rare to find such exceptional service these days, and we truly appreciated it. The food was absolutely delicious, especially the Fried Okra - it was fantastic! The restaurant was spotless, including the restrooms, which is always a big plus. Bit of a wait, but sooo worth it. Great service by our waitress, Megan. She gave great suggestions and took our drink orders immediately. After we put our food order in, she checked on our food without being asked. When we received our food, she checked on us periodically. While we were eating a little girl spilled her milkshake on herself, even though it wasn't Megan's table, she helped the girl clean up her milkshake. Went to Jakes for first time yesterday 2/27/18 with my 85 yr old Dad for lunch. Dad and I enjoyed our visit very much. The double cheeseburger was fantastic, and very big in size. Dad especially loved the chocolate milk shake he had, along with his desert. Our server name was Jesse James, and did an excellent job. Very friendly, and personable. Went to the new Jakes in Mansfield. They are killing it. They quoted 30 minutes and we were seated after about 20 minutes. Our server was very knowledgeable and recommended the chips and queso to start. It was delicious! I ordered the works and absolutely loved it. My buddy had the breakfast burger and he devoured it. Great selection of beer too. Service was really good, especially with how busy they are. Don't be deterred if you have to wait, it is well worth it. Can't wait to go back! read more

Our server Lance was very helpful and made some great recommendations as far as the burgers it was very delicious definitely will come back again my Son loved it he said and I quote " This is better than Whataburger ". We stopped in for breakfast. We've had burgers at other locations but never tried the breakfast. I had the oatmeal pancakes that our server Ryan suggested and they were delicious. Soft, fluffy, hint of cinnamon. My coffee cup stayed full - there are a ton of servers and managers walking around making sure everything is going well for you. You get a ton of food with your order. Great customer service, good food, reasonably priced, and clean, including the restrooms. Happy to learn Jake's is a chain. Will absolutely try again. Our server, Brittany, did an outstanding job. Come in last night for drinks with my friends sat at the bar and had a great time. Had the Hawt Dog with chili and it was amazing! I've been here before and was a little skeptical about sitting at the bar because there had been some issues with the customer service but I can tell it's improving! After being seated, Marla took our drink orders, two unsweetened teas please! We looked over the specials on the white board so we could make our decisions. My wife decided to order the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and corn. I decided on liver and onions, fried okra, and mashed potatoes. Both of our dinner entrees were HUGE and one would had been plenty for two. My liver and onions were good, I hadn't had liver in a long time. Awesome mashed potatoes and fried okra. But the stellar star of the evening was Terry's chicken fried steak. It was one of the best either one of us have ever had. Marla took excellent care of us throughout our visit.
